Buddhist chapel with half casket flowers
Jessica A.

We started off the new year with a goodbye and as difficult as it was, the whole process was made easier because of Beddingfield. Around Christmas, we began planning for a funeral and purchased a burial plot from a separate funeral home. We were told that there was a 3-4 week wait list for burial services with this particular funeral home. This was too late since we already had family visiting from out-of-country. Luckily, I stumbled upon Beddingfield as the first result on Yelp. I gave them a call and they were able to schedule us for the same day. We went over all details including caskets, florals, locations, etc. Tom walked us through the entire process, answered all our questions, and itemized everything so it was easy to keep track of. You don't feel trapped in package deals and you get to select what matters. Our total cost here saved us about 5k compared to the funeral home and, most importantly, they had plenty of available dates even within the same week. We wanted a Buddhist chapel and the one provided by Beddingfield was perfect. We selected the monks ourselves but they also offered to look for us. Beddingfield made it easy to request things such as prayer tables and they made sure the funeral was exactly how we wanted it to be to honor our loved one. I appreciate that they were sensitive to our needs and requests. As this was my first time planning a funeral, Beddingfield was a huge and necessary help. I hope I won't have to use their services anytime soon, but when I do, I'll be returning to them.

We used Bedingfield for my mom's funeral. They not only walk you thru everything but take over for you because we needed that. Thank you.

It took more than 9 days including the weekend, Saturday and Sunday. Rainbow was encouraging. She gave me the time, 3 PM, so we could delay our plan i.e. postpone to a later day. In the meantime, due to my "cyclic telephone conversation with Kaiser", I stopped arranging for details like flowers and other services. I will be posting my ordeal with Kaiser separately, later. Since I was angry, frustrated and did not understand the complications for Kaiser refusing, I did not have the energy and could not "REPEAT the cyclic information I HEARD". So, I did not update my family after every single telephone conversation. At one point, others in "Santa Clara Funeral and Cremation Services" started questioning and became involved. I believe that due to their involvement, we achieved a compromise and I accepted "the work-around". Thank you, Rainbow, and everyone who supported me during one of the saddest periods in my life. They offer grief counseling, police escort, work with local caterers, they work with local cemeteries and will make the appointments for you, and they will even get needed death certificates. Basically they work with you through the whole process in a most difficult time. Our coordinators name is Margarita. I can't say enough about her!! She took almost all my phone calls immediately and responded to my text right away even on her days off. Margarita made a slide show for me and then because of time constraints on my end, she redid it for me at no extra cost. All the people that I spoke with there were all very helpful and I did not experience any resistance from them when I was asking for special favors. I would not hesitate to use them again. Thank you Lima family for making this difficult time a little more bearable. :-)

It seems odd to be reviewing a Funeral Home, but I am going to join the throngs of 5-star reviewers…read morefor this business. Where do I start? Well, from my very first call (when my husband started hospice). I had no clue what I was doing, or what to ask, but Vince was professional, compassionate, and informative. He gave me pointers on how to purchase a burial plot, and offered additional helpful tips. As we ended the call he offered "Call me anytime with questions - even if you don't select us." Who does that?! Lima-Campagna-Alameda does! (I love that they truly are Family Owned) I'd looked at other funeral homes and then met with Angelo (also at Lima) - with my friend in tow. He was equally warm and helpful, and we even managed to share some laughs (thanks to my friend). And after seeing their facilities, the decision was made. Yes, it was a funeral home, but it just felt "right." Very warm and soothing (I know that sounds weird!). Hubby passed much sooner than expected, but we ended up making the final arrangements with Vince (Angelo was sad he couldn't be there that day!). I had taken their advice about finding a plot, and purchasing a casket. They saved me literally thousands of dollars (no joke!). Mind you, funerals ain't cheap - and Lima is not the cheapest (they're definitely not the most expensive either!), but they got us through the whole process as smoothly and painlessly as possible. And I never once felt like I was being nickel-and-dimed to death (can't say the same for some other mortuaries). They don't even make you pay to play your own slide-show/music on the big screen TV during visitation. My husband's funeral was yesterday and it was absolutely perfect in every way. We'd emailed a recent pic to them, and they did an amazing job of making him look very natural. While I hope to not do business with them again (at least not anytime soon!), I want to extend my sincerest gratitude to Vince, Angelo, and the team at Lima-Campagna-Alameda Funeral Home!

Stephanie was efficient in handling the communication via email and we flew in and let her in person today to pick up the death certificates. They definitely encourage using the chapel for 200 guests and it's fairly expensive but hey, what a great business this is since everyone has to deal with the death of a loved one. It's definitely a low key hustle which I totally respect. It's extremely overwhelming when you are dealing with grief but it has to be done so let the experts here help you through it. This place is very conveniently located across from the parking structure in downtown Campbell. When we walked in, it was immediately a different vibe from what I've been accustomed to as far as funeral homes go. The interior of the space was really nice, clean, and well-lit. It was very modern & updated. It was a refreshing change to walk into a space like this and feel the lightness of the atmosphere vs. the heavy grief that perpetuates in a traditional older funeral home that tends to be more dimly lit and draped in warmer, more old-fashioned decor. There was ample room for the formal memorial and the reception that followed. The memorial was baseball themed to honor our friend and there was a food truck that was serving hot dogs outside in the back area of the space - it was nice that there was a side door that led people out there & that there was room to accommodate this. The staff were very attentive and kind. They were super-ftiendly & ready to provide support & assistance at the drop of a hat. It was nice to know that our friends/their clients were in good hands during a difficult time.

I found myself in a crisis situation where the sheriffs department told me to call a mortuary to come take care of a relative. It was a weekend and I had absolutely no idea how to proceed. I got out my phone and did a search for the closest mortuary and Alameda popped up. I gave them a call and explained my situation and the wonderful woman who answered my call walked me through exactly what the next steps were. I didn't get her name, but she was absolutely fantastic to work with in a very difficult situation. A few hours later, the right folks arrived and took care of the situation. The following Monday first thing in the morning we went to the funeral home and met with Paul. Paul was right out of central casting for somebody to guide us through what would happen over the next two weeks. Paul spent about an hour and a half with us that morning walking us through all of the things we needed to make decisions about and next steps. He was absolutely fantastic to work with and I can't possibly imagine how that very difficult experience could have been any better than to have been guided by Paul. I hope that if I ever find myself in this situation in the future, I can find Paul or somebody exactly like him. For the funeral itself, Michael was our funeral director and again we could not have asked for a better person to be in charge. Michael knew exactly what to do intuitively and working with him at the cemetery was absolutely fantastic. I really can't recommend Alameda Family any higher. Everything was taken care of in a perfect way.

Losing a parent is incredibly hard, but they handled everything with such a high level of dignity and grace that it truly eased some of the burden for us. Communication: From the very first call, I felt heard and supported. They were incredibly patient with all of my questions and kept me updated every step of the way, which gave me so much peace of mind. The Process: I found their approach to be very modern, transparent, and straightforward. There was never any pressure or "salesy" feeling, just genuine empathy and a focus on what my mother and our family needed. The Memorial: They helped us navigate the details for her memorial with so much respect. Everything was handled professionally, allowing us to focus on honoring her memory rather than worrying about the logistics. I am so grateful to have had their guidance during this time. If you are looking for a team that treats your loved ones with true honor and provides a seamless, compassionate experience, I cannot recommend them highly enough. I also really appreciated the honesty in their business model. I know it could technically be cheaper if they did every single thing in-house, but they intentionally use outside sources for certain steps to ensure everything is handled by specialists. I actually felt like I got more value this way because I knew I was getting the best possible care at every stage. It's also worth noting for other families that they don't have an embalming service; they focus purely on a dignified, natural process which was exactly what we wanted for my mom. For the majority of my work with them, they were extremely responsive, had good pass downs between shifts and team members, and worked to meet all our needs and timelines. They never pressured us into anything or upsold us. They just wanted to support whatever we needed. My family needed an expedited cremation and memorial all within a week of my family member passing and Honor Cremations was able to make that happen and get the paperwork done with the county in that timeframe. Honor's paid casket option was cheaper than other crematories and was a very nice, presentable casket. Honor does not embalm in house but has embalming providers they can work with. The only reason I would hesitate to select Honor again is because other crematories were more cost effective (up to $1000 cheaper for our package selections), but Honor did what they could to reduce costs and provide flexible options and offerings. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others if service and empathy is a top priority.
