We lost my mom very suddenly. I came from out of town while she was in the hospital and after she passed we wanted to get the funeral done soon after. We didn't want her waiting at the hospital and my family and I needed closure before returning home. My cousin and I searched online at multiple funeral homes but none of them seemed right. Their pricing was confusing and they weren't able to accommodate our desired date. We met and worked with Todd Wester throughout the whole process and he was very compassionate, kind, professional and so easy to work with. During a tragic time like this, he helped make the process bearable and seamless. Every staff member we came in contact with including the mortician Jeanette was amazing and very sweet. The funeral home had a Buddhist room that was beautiful and perfect for my mom. It's exactly how she would have wanted it. Part of our very affordable package included the banquet room which fit our family and friends perfectly for lunch afterwards and it had a huge fridge for us to store our drinks in. They also had a beautiful comfortable lobby to gather around in. No one wants to be in this position of having to plan a funeral for their loved ones but if you have to this is the most honest, professional, compassionate funeral home you will ever find.

Losing a parent is incredibly hard, but they handled everything with such a high level of dignity and grace that it truly eased some of the burden for us. Communication: From the very first call, I felt heard and supported. They were incredibly patient with all of my questions and kept me updated every step of the way, which gave me so much peace of mind. The Process: I found their approach to be very modern, transparent, and straightforward. There was never any pressure or "salesy" feeling, just genuine empathy and a focus on what my mother and our family needed. The Memorial: They helped us navigate the details for her memorial with so much respect. Everything was handled professionally, allowing us to focus on honoring her memory rather than worrying about the logistics. I am so grateful to have had their guidance during this time. If you are looking for a team that treats your loved ones with true honor and provides a seamless, compassionate experience, I cannot recommend them highly enough. I also really appreciated the honesty in their business model. I know it could technically be cheaper if they did every single thing in-house, but they intentionally use outside sources for certain steps to ensure everything is handled by specialists. I actually felt like I got more value this way because I knew I was getting the best possible care at every stage. It's also worth noting for other families that they don't have an embalming service; they focus purely on a dignified, natural process which was exactly what we wanted for my mom. I am so grateful to have had their guidance during this time. If you are looking for a team that treats your loved ones with true honor and provides a seamless, compassionate experience, I cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you, Honor Cremation, for taking such wonderful care of my mom.

Customer service: 5/5 Value: 3.5/5 Execution: 5/5 From a service standpoint, they excellent. The team is available 24 hours via phone and text. For the majority of my work with them, they were extremely responsive, had good pass downs between shifts and team members, and worked to meet all our needs and timelines. They never pressured us into anything or upsold us. They just wanted to support whatever we needed. My family needed an expedited cremation and memorial all within a week of my family member passing and Honor Cremations was able to make that happen and get the paperwork done with the county in that timeframe. Honor's paid casket option was cheaper than other crematories and was a very nice, presentable casket. Honor does not embalm in house but has embalming providers they can work with. The only reason I would hesitate to select Honor again is because other crematories were more cost effective (up to $1000 cheaper for our package selections), but Honor did what they could to reduce costs and provide flexible options and offerings. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others if service and empathy is a top priority.

Other funerals I've gone to, the staff members whether working in parking control, or guiding the pall bearers seemed more caring. They'll make sure the family's experience is emaculate, or at least almost perfect. Here, they don't greet you, nor at least try to assist the elders especially in the parking lot. They'll just stand there with a blank look to make sure you're okay... without even a smile. But they are seemingly professional with their guidance. Definitely not naturally charismatic. I hope they like their jobs. For me, it's been sad to keep experiencing loss of loved ones. We are getting older, and it's called the circle of life. Going back to the cemetery itself, the graves are quite scattered. You'll see clusters filled, and then empty spots steps away. The views of San Jose City is beautiful! Blue skies. Birds chirping, some wind, made my experience wonderful. Of course depending on the weather. The cemetery is still expanding into unused land. However, some nice homes are built directly across the street, where the lawn may be shared (literally). Luckily, I'm friends with Casper, and Poltergeist is only a movie. LOL. I'd say it's an average 3.8 stars experience.

It took more than 9 days including the weekend, Saturday and Sunday. Rainbow was encouraging. She gave me the time, 3 PM, so we could delay our plan i.e. postpone to a later day. In the meantime, due to my "cyclic telephone conversation with Kaiser", I stopped arranging for details like flowers and other services. I will be posting my ordeal with Kaiser separately, later. Since I was angry, frustrated and did not understand the complications for Kaiser refusing, I did not have the energy and could not "REPEAT the cyclic information I HEARD". So, I did not update my family after every single telephone conversation. At one point, others in "Santa Clara Funeral and Cremation Services" started questioning and became involved. I believe that due to their involvement, we achieved a compromise and I accepted "the work-around". Thank you, Rainbow, and everyone who supported me during one of the saddest periods in my life. I arrived stating clearly that I was there to pick up my father's remains. The woman who "assisted" me, and I use that term loosely, looked like she hated her job and made sure I knew it. She sighed audibly every time she walked past me, as if my presence was an inconvenience. Because yes, I chose to be in this situation, so sorry that my father passed away and I now have the absolute pleasure of retrieving his ashes. Boohoo, right? Eventually, she tells me that only the wife can pick them up. This confused me because I, his daughter, have been involved throughout this process. When I calmly tried to ask if there was any workaround, she cut me off repeatedly and informed me, with confidence, that this had apparently already been communicated to me over the phone. Funny, considering I had never even seen or spoken to her before in my life. So I left, frustrated, confused, and empty-handed. Ten minutes into my drive home, she calls me back and says that suddenly I am authorized to pick them up. The backpedaling began immediately. She's "not the case manager," she "didn't know" I was the daughter, and so on. But somehow, just minutes before, she was certain that only the wife could pick up the ashes. If you're not the case manager and don't know the situation, maybe don't speak with such confidence, especially when dealing with grieving families. The lack of professionalism and basic human sensitivity was comical. If you choose to work in the funeral industry, a field that deals with people at their most vulnerable, the bare minimum should be empathy and accuracy. Unfortunately, I experienced neither.

READ THE CONTRACT CAREFULLY Pre Death arrangements are…read morecheaper than Post arrangements. You get the same service either way. The contract includes $1100 to "scatter" the ashes at a graveyard or at sea. The other option is to pick up the ashes (in a $75 cardboard box) and dispose or preserve the remains as you see fit. If you pick-up the ashes YOU ARE STILL CHARGED THE $1100. Neptune basically gets $1100 for doing nothing other than handing you a bag. When I questioned the charge the "Manager" treated me like a 3rd grader and with a smug "used car salesman grin", held a card under specific lines in the contract telling me to read aloud parts of the contract which vaguely described the options. I refused and told him to get the cardboard "urn" and left in disgust as he stiood behind the counter with a stupid grin on his face. Overall they did a fair job of collecting the deceased and completing the cremation. I am sure there are other options available, don't let your emotions go with the first available and READ THE CONTRACT and ask questions.

Rachel was the coordinator assigned to us, and the communication throughout the process was disappointing. Messages were often unclear, inconsistent, and at times felt unprofessional. There were multiple moments where information was not aligned between what was discussed and what was delivered, which created unnecessary stress during an already difficult time. For a service that families rely on during moments of grief, empathy, clarity, and reliability are essential. We did not feel supported or confidently guided through the process, and that was very disappointing. The owner and the tall gentleman helping were good - we have no complaints with them.
