The buffet is buffet food. Once you've had it, you're good for a long while. I would like to go…read moremore often because Lexington doesn't have many places to eat, and the majority of them aren't anything special, but until they offer a variety instead of the exact same food every time, I will only go on occasion when someone asks me to go with them. I've found that sometimes food on the buffet is too salty (and I like salt). Once the turnip greens were so salty that I had to spit them out. It was as if someone had poured a whole cup of salt in them. The catfish is also usually very salty. Nothing on the buffet is labeled, so you may have to ask about some of the meat if it's your first time to go. The salad bar is very small and minimum, so I prefer to get slaw instead, but I no longer do that. Sometimes the slaw had a strange taste and smell as if it was going bad. Once it was so completely soured that it almost made me gag. I let the server know and she just took it away. Toward the end of the meal, she brought another bowl and said it was freshly made. She never apologized. She actually acted put out over it. Needless to say, I've learned to be cautious with the turnip greens and slaw. The dessert bar is terrible. I mean that. If you like pudding with whipped cream on top (they usually have chocolate and banana), and sometimes a low-quality overly sweet store- bought cobbler, then you'll like it. They also have ice cream, but it isn't the smooth kind. It is more like the type you make at home. My advice is to order off the menu. You will not have the variety, or the amount, but you will have a better meal. The location is good. The parking is good. It's a large place so you can usually get a table pretty quickly.

Food was good. Service was excellent…read more Comfortable atmosphere Would go again when in the area.

First and foremost, the older woman at the checkout is very rude. I don't know if she is the owner…read moreor an employee, but whoever she is, she needs to take lessons in customer service and how to treat customers. I guess her attitude pours out on others, because I've only ever had a nice server one time ---- ONLY ONE TIME!!!!!!!!!! And she was so meek she was afraid to take our order and even talk to us. As for the food... For lunch or dinner, the salad bar is the best they have, and it isn't good. They have watery iceberg lettuce with huge white hard chunks. I guess they save the green leaves for sandwiches. The dressing is watered down. The bacon bits are fake, and they don't have a big selection. Out of the hot food options, the spaghetti is probably your best bet, but don't expect it to taste homemade. I really don't understand why this place is still in business. I've never known it to be good and know more people who dislike it than who like it. My guess the church crowd is what keeps it in business. Also, I'm sure it has a lot to do with politics.

The Grecian Family Restaurant is a staple in Lexington, TN. Don't let the name fool you this is not…read moreMediterranean cuisine, however the gyro is solid and tasty. This would qualify as your typical southern charm family restaurant, that my family has been coming to for decades, and was my first visit since I was a teenager. The atmosphere at the Grecian is friendly, clean, and spacious. Our server was young, friendly, and learned it was easier to put down pitchers of water and tea rather than try refills, which is always appreciated. There is plenty of seating for small and large parties (we were a family of 10). The menu is pretty eclectic from Italian entrees, catfish, steak, chicken, and the aforementioned gyro (all of which was ordered). The staple at the Grecian is their fresh salad bar, which I might come in just for that. Most entrees have it included but you can get it on its own as well. Generous in its offerings the 1000 Island was outstanding. The food was not bland (steak was tasty but not noteworthy) and generous in portion. It won't win any awards but it didn't leave anyone hungry at the end either. At the End of the Day this is exactly what you would expect and it doesn't disappoint. There is not a wow element to the Grecian and maybe it isn't supposed to have one. In small towns like this maybe it's just nice to have something dependable and good to eat!?!

There's so much I want to say. In summary, the food is never hot, you don't get much, they throw it…read moretogether, they are slow, they don't understand customer service, and the restaurant always feels like a freezer because they keep it so cold. I eat there frequently, at least once a week for the past year, and it has always been this way. Why do I keep going? Because there's someone in the family who doesn't eat much but will eat their chicken, so I go for that person. FOOD IS NEVER HOT - never ever has it been hot. YOU DON'T GET MUCH - the tenders are smaller than tenders at other chicken places, and if you get a salad or wrap you will barely have a few bites of chicken. Years ago their salads used to be awesome. Over time the amount has gotten smaller and smaller, and forget thinking you'll have much chicken on it. If you want chicken, you'll need to order chicken on the side. THEY THROW IT TOGETHER - if you get a wrap, be prepared for a skimpy bit of food thrown in the middle with just a little bit of cheese. They never spread it out. See pictures I'm adding of the wrap from last night. THEY ARE SLOW - last night we stood inside and waited 21 minutes for 2 wraps and fries, while we could clearly see in the kitchen three young men who weren't hustling at all, and one was doing nothing and goofing around. Also, there was a manager and 4 people in the front. Really? And we waited 21 minutes for just a handful of cold food? THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND CUSTOMER SERVICE - the people just stand there with a blank face and take your order after you initiate it. Never do they say hello, welcome, hi, glad to have you, what can I get you... NEVER. THE RESTAURANT FEELS LIKE A FREEZER - Take a jacket and wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. I'm not kidding. People come in there and move around trying to find a warmer place or get away from a vent, but they can't. We've learned to dress warmly. So... the food has an average taste, but don't expect a good dining experience.
