Thankful we got a referral to Beckman & Associates for our baby. Our baby was having some motor skill struggles with feedings. Debra Beckman was extremely kind, patient, and knowledgeable. I felt that our baby was being handled with care. We were given clear directions and were even allowed to record the session! The office was very clean & they even offered complimentary coffee/tea/flavored water, etc. The price was very reasonable, and I felt we got our money's worth out of the appointment. My baby was eight days old when we visited Dr. Beckman. He did not have a consistent latch and was starting to lose weight. Thus, we started to bottle feed with donor milk. I was very concerned that he would not Want me after receiving a bottle. Dr. Beckman was cheerful, humble, knowledgeable and very positive that 1) baby was born knowing how to latch on to me...we just needed to remind him. And 2) baby should have no problem switching back-and-forth between nipple and bottle it was just a matter of strengthening the muscles that were weak. That was such a relief for a first time mommy. She went though a series of simple tests and gave us exercises to practice. Three days later he had his first decent latch. And ever since then it's been getting better and more consistent with longer stretches of time. We are not even two weeks since our visit with Dr. Beckman and today we've done more breast-feeding than pumping! Dr. Beckman and associates are professional, friendly, and prompt. Of course I was sure she lived in New York, Chicago or Los Angeles or some other part of the world. What a shock when we found out she was here in Florida. We are the luckiest people in the world when we found out her center was located in Orlando! That was the first gift of the Beckman and Associates and on our journey. BOOM! My daughter was recently evaluated and treated at Beckman and Associates. I was impressed with Debra Beckman's ability to not only focus on strengths and weaknesses but to design a plan that is reasonable for my daughter. After 17 years of many different speech therapists, I only regret that someone didn't point us in her direction sooner. After our first session, eating and drinking are tremendously improved! I have no doubt that my daughter's feeding issue will continue to improve and I look forward to continuing treatment with Debra Beckman. Therapists and parents should be grateful that she is able to help even the most challenging children. We were able to video conference with our speech therapist at home so that she could be a part of the whole session. Obviously this helps facilitate coordination so that the plan can be easily implemented.
