Chicken Pot Pie
Alexa M.

Stayed at Union Creek and went here for my birthday lunch. I had the Chicken Pot Pie and it was delicious. The drinks were great as well! They have a selection of beer, ciders, and wine!

Nice local beer and cider

The only game in town, but it did not fail to satisfy. We enjoyed our sandwich, pot pie and beverages. Server was super helpful and very friendly. Great historical building with lovely ambience for the woods. I look forward to returning!

This is a MUST STOP! Fantastic, rustic, fun, and delicious all at the same time. Wow! April was our server. Come when you are not in a hurry and have a big appetite. Don't forget to leave room for their pies! We shared pecan. Our friends also loved the berry & peach pies.

So good!

After a visit to Crater Lake, we planned to dine at the Prospect Cafe, passed the cute Beckie's sign, and flipped a U-ie. Meatloaf was good, the veggies, mashed potatoes and gravy even better. The warm Pecan Pie with vanilla ice cream put the exclamation point on a great meal. Prices are tourist rate as they're located across from a lodge and near Crater Lake. The server was awesome, so pleasant.

Such an enchanting spot tucked away in the woods-and there's PIE!!

I had read about this magical place in the "That Oregon Life" newsletter and hyped it up on a recent Girl Scout trip to Crater Lake. The girls had saved their snack money to try some pie. When we came in the hostess was very friendly and accommodating of our group, despite a number of tables being occupied. We arrived mid afternoon and while they didn't have all the pies on the menu available we were able to try a variety of fruit and cream pies. As far as the pies go they weren't homemade quality and whatever cream they use it's not dairy (I'm would know as I am sensitive to dairy) but it is an enchanting spot in the middle of the woods so I 100% make time to stop again or look into staying in the adjacent cabins.

I finally stopped here after years of driving past it. I had the fire on the mountain burger and split it. They actually cut it in half and brought it out on separate plates. That was unexpected. We each had a piece of pie, I had the boysenberry and the other was blackberry. Both were great, but the blackberry was slightly better. I normally don't like pie, but this one was great! Full of berries and it had a great crust. I'd say I would definitely stop by here next time I drive by.

Ooooo baby I came here with my two buddies and I was wearing some new clothes and I look kinda snazzy in my new clothes and so do my buddies oh yeah kinda feeling like superstars on a red carpet oh yeah especially with some good pie in my belly unstoppable. The waitress is nice and she recommended the sweet and tangy chicken sandwich so I did that and I got no regrets I only got love and a little sway cmon. Went for the pie and it was super super yummy had to take some home for breakfast in the morning too. I got coconut crème which is one of my favorites it was big (hint I'm taking it home for breakfast because I couldn't finish it). My buddy got boysenberry and I think that one was the best especially with the ice cream. The other buddy was confused why it said boy in the name and I am still confused why he is confused (hmm I'm confused). Keeping this one real got to CELEBRATE for the good times (celebrate good times oh yeah)

We went here for breakfast (and later for pie) when we stayed in Prospect! It is a must do! The cinnamon rolls are amazing! We got the pancakes, breakfast sandwich with ham, biscuits and gravy, and cinnamon roll. I wish we had gone for lunch or dinner because when we went back later in the afternoon for pie everyone's meals looked incredible! Was dying to try the chicken pot pie, burgers, and onion rings! But would recommend everything we had for breakfast! The apple pie was also so yummy!! Our waitress was a doll too!

We stayed at Union Creek campground and didn't realize we brought the wrong pan and couldn't cook so we were super happy Beckie's was so close. My husband got the veggie sandwich and I got the chicken strips/tenders with fries. The amount of chicken was way more than I expected!! When I first picked one up with my fork I was surprised how skinny it was. I was expecting it to be dry and not very good but it to my surprise it was super juicy and so good!! I can't say much on the fries cause I was more focused on eating the chicken. The different sauces were also yummy. I liked the honey mustard most. We didn't save room for pie, but that didn't stop us! lol (the entire time we were eating our dinner we kept heading everyone else order pie) we chose the pecan to share. It once again wasn't very appealing visually but hot damn did we fight over every single bite (somehow our marriage survived. Don't worry). Pricing was about expected and staff was friendly.

We stayed nearby and this was really the only restaurant in the area. The meal was fine, but with a lot of almost comedic problems. They were out of blue cheese crumbles so a cobb salad couldnt be made. Apparently only one deep fryer was functioning, so our appetizers came out slowly and one at a time. The patty melt and ham sandwich came out burnt and had to be redone. The sourdough club came out on white bread. They brought us three burgers when we only ordered two. We got chicken wings and there was clearly something in there that was not a chicken wing, and our buffalo sauce never came. Our onion rings had something in it that was certainly not an onion. Overall, the food was acceptable. We got some pie to go, with ice cream packed separately to make it a la mode later. The pie was also just acceptable. I would not get it again. Go there knowing patience is required.

Small historic cafe/diner in Union Creek, OR, just up the road from Prospect. They have pretty short hours during the week (11-6) so be sure to arrive by 5:30 if you want dinner. We got burgers with fries and onion rings and shared a piece of "very berry" pie a la mode for dessert (we were beached whales!). Service was great, food was awesome! We bought a giant (and I mean GIANT) cinnamon roll to have with our coffee the following morning (we stayed across the street at the Union Creek Resort mini cabins).

Cinnamon Roll

I had read about the legendary cinnamon rolls at Beckie's so we made sure to stop for breakfast on a cold rainy day. Hubby had the Beckie's breakfast (eggs, toast, bacon, hash browns) which was huge and delicious. He also had hot chocolate with whipped cream. I accepted the challenge of tackling likely the biggest cinnamon roll I've ever seen. I made it through about three quarters of it before giving up! The cream cheese frosting was sublime and the roll itself was flakier rather than denser which made it easier to eat. The atmosphere was homey and the service was prompt and friendly. We also got slices of blueberry pie to go and it was excellent- light flaky crust and plenty of blueberries! Glad we stopped even if we did fall into a "food coma" later!

Fire on the Mountain Vegetarian (Beyond) Burger. Was good.

The place was small and the service was slow but there were no other options nearby. The food was good and the pie was famous.

The food was good, great service and cozy atmosphere in the forest near Crater Lake. Plenty of parking. Call to confirm closing time.

We both ordered their smothered chicken dinner; I highly recommend it! Everything was cooked perfectly. Even their side salad was excellent. On another visit we tried their Spaghetti & meatballs (excellent taste with good ratio of sauce to pasta) with the biggest piece of garlic bread we have ever seen; along with their BALT sandwich (also very tasty). We obviously enjoyed their menu - we went twice! There is currently some construction going on outside, so just be aware.

We did a Crater Lake National Park trip and stayed in the area for a couple of nights. This restaurant is located inside the casino and you can get gas too. The hours are generous and menu is vast (for being in a small town). Where we stayed had a microwave and fridge, so we decided to order larger portions of our meals to eat the leftovers the next night. We got the chicken parm and a full rack of ribs. The house salad was surprisingly good - crisp romaine (no sad iceberg here) with some tomatoes and cucumbers. The chicken parm was not good - large portions and the accompanying garlic bread was delish. The ribs were tender, sauced well, and was definitely the tastier entree out of the 2. It seems like the consensus for the reviews are to stick with the burgers, steak, and ribs. The service was pretty half-hearted, but to be expected since they seem like they are perpetually understaffed. Overall, prices are reasonable for being the only game in town and as long as you manage your expectations, it is a good enough place to get a hot meal. Parking: easy

You want an excellent, tender, as good as any bullshit upscale restaurant rib eye? You are going to get that on Friday night steak night. You want a thick, flavorful, real beef burger? They've got you covered. Some of the best burgers in southern Oregon, by the way. They also have a very fine steelhead sandwich, tender and moist. You want an okay salad, basic weekend breakfast? Check. Strong, basic drinks? Check. You want skilled wait staff that work their asses off but still get you and your pals taken care of? Double check. I moved out along the River one year ago and discovered the Narrows shortly after. While I may be one if those progressive, feminist, environmentalist, mask wearing transplant types, I knew I had arrived when Jenna, Cris, and the gang began greeting me by name when I walked through the door and also remembering my orders. Yep. If you can get past yourself long enough to chat with the locals you learn some interesting things, make some colorful friends, hear some memorable stories. Like the time a guy showed up to rob the joint, pulled his handgun out of his pocket, demanded cash, and instead found himself facing a formidable crowd, every one of whom had pulled their own guns on him to protect their beloved bartender. 911 was called. Everyone ordered another round. The night went on. Yep. You're at the historical Narrows along the North Umpqua River. Behave yourself and have a good time. Pool tables, outdoor heated seating, plenty of those frisking annoying video poker machines and sports televisions if you're that type.
