From the very first visit, the entire staff has been consistently professional, kind, and incredibly attentive. I've been under their care since January 2025, and the improvement in both my symptoms and overall quality of life has been incredible. The front office and clinical staff run a smooth, organized practice, and you're always treated with respect and genuine care. Appointments are efficient without ever feeling rushed, and it's clear that patient comfort and outcomes truly matter here. A very special thank‑you to Amy Brussee, PA‑C, who has been overseeing my care. Amy is thorough, knowledgeable, and takes the time to explain everything clearly. She listens, answers questions thoughtfully, and makes each visit feel personalized rather than transactional. I always leave confident that I'm in excellent hands. I also want to recognize Melanie, the nurse who administers my allergy shots. She is consistently kind, calm, and professional, and makes what could easily be an uncomfortable process incredibly easy and stress‑free. THANKS, MEL!! If you're looking for an allergist or sinus specialist in Chicago who combines clinical expertise with genuine compassion, I highly recommend Chicago Nasal and Sinus Center. They set the bar for what patient‑centered care should look and feel like.

He has great bedside manner, with a calm, collected, and empathetic approach. I was struck from my first appointment with him the way he spends time teaching patients to educate them on the anatomy of the nose and sinuses. This helps you better understand his diagnoses and recommendations, whether surgical or other. He also shows great patience in answering patient questions, and appointments do not feel rushed - rare with a specialist. He is not pushy and does not needlessly push surgery or other treatments; he recommends what is appropriate. Incredibly competent surgeon - post-operative recovery from surgery was much less intense than what is described online by other leading hospitals. My PCP is a Northwestern doctor and referred me to him, not to Northwestern ENTs. Additionally, the entire office at Chicago Nasal and Sinus Center is a pleasure to work with. Everyone is friendly, and it is so easy to contact the office - no hold, someone just answers the phone. Easy to schedule appointments, and the office runs on time. It's the type of boutique office where before long everyone who works there knows you by name. Anyone who is looking for an ENT, I highly recommend Dr. Pritkin and his practice. I have already referred several of my friends to him and feel lucky to have found him. His treatments are truly life-changing.

First, my appointment was delayed by 40 minutes; I can somewhat understand that part. Once I got to the consultation room, his assistant was in so much hurry for whatever reason. She jot down some notes and left the room. Then the Dr. arrived and though pleasant, was also in a rush. After literally a few seconds of my nasal passage examination, he said that he can't send everyone who walked in for an MRI. He prescribed me a "Nasal Spray for ALLERGIES" and advised to see the Head Pain Department at NW Hospital. After years of sinus issues, yup I needed to go see a specialist to get an Allergy Spray! I'm so regretting spending my hard earned $ for this Dr. Altogether the impression I got: Both of them wanted to get rid of me ASAP. My presence felt like a waste of their time and a burden to them. Again, I do not know why!

Six years ago I pretty much walked away from a head-on collision, I consider myself very lucky. My airbag likely saved me from serious injury, but did leave me with a concussion and a deviated septum (not known at the time). The aftereffects of the accident along with some preexisting sinus problems left me with a multitude of problems that got progressively worse: chronic sinus infections, frequent headaches and migraines, severe sinus pain and congestion, trouble concentrating, uncontrolled asthma, sleep issues, and difficulty breathing through my nose. A few years after the accident I had my first ENT visit and the guy didn't do very much to sell me on the idea that this surgery would improve my life, so I passed. It still irks me to know I could have been feeling like a new person long ago. By the time I saw Dr. Kern, my monthly Sudafed requirement rivaled that of a meth dealer. I liked Dr. Kern right off the bat, he's very personable and rather than lead with my surgical options, he first listened to my sinus issues and reviewed nonsurgical options that might work for me. Unfortunately, it only took a brief exam (including cat-scan) to confirm surgery would be my best option if I wanted significant long-term improvement. My surgery had to be delayed one year after I first met with Dr. Kern; my grad school insurance denied my surgery despite being medically necessary (and not cosmetic)! ::shakes angry fist at insurance bastards:: One year later, I had insurance that covered the procedure and was rearing to go under the knife. Not only had my problems worsened 50% in a year, but when you know there's something out there that will make you feel whole again, the waiting can be torture. Dr. Kern is a bit of a stickler, he has a thorough pre and post surgery protocol, which included medicines, vitamins and supplements I had to stop taking 2 weeks before and after surgery. He also required I take a minimum of one week off of work and use a specific brand of OTC sinus rinse to keep the area clean and hydrated. I won't get into details of my procedure, but the surgery was no walk in the park; it knocked me on my ass harder than I anticipated. However, I don't regret it one bit; a week after my surgery the splints, stitches and other stuff were removed and I was giddy that I could actually breathe through my nose. It's been nearly three months and I have had almost no sinus pressure or pain, headaches, and my asthma is more controlled than it's been in 6 years. I've also only taken about 8 of those little red magic pills in the last 3 months, pre-surgery that was more like a daily dose, and my Kleenex usage has dropped off considerably (sorry Kimberly-Clark). Both of my post op visits have confirmed that my surgery went beautifully; I wouldn't hesitate to refer anyone with sinus issues to Dr. Kern, he and his staff are amazing.

My experience working with Dr. Dixon and his office team has been EXTREMELY frustrating and…read morechallenging. I would NOT recommend him or this office if you are looking for a medical specialist to address your ENT concerns with genuine care unless you are ready to deal with unethical billing practices, a misleading physician, and some (not all) unresponsive/conceding staff. Before seeing Dr. Dixon, I checked with my insurance provider to ensure my visit would be covered. Before this, I had contacted his office directly and received a curt and annoyed response from whoever picked up my call to my initial questions about setting up an appointment and their insurance partners. This definitely should've been the first red flag, but I continued making the appointment because I was honestly interested in working with a Black physician if I could. So where did things go left? Well, when I arrived for my initial visit 30 minutes early, I was left waiting in the waiting room for almost an hour after checking in and paying my co-pay. When I finally saw Dr. Dixon, I shared my reasons for the visit and prior experience years before working with an ENT. He then enthusiastically laid out how this visit would go, sharing that during the first visit, nothing much would happen, but in my future visits, we would work together to explore some of the things I shared to help improve my concerns. I was then asked to sign a document and told, "This is just a part of the initial visit and to look with this camera, but we're not doing anything today, so don't be concerned." And boy was that a BIG LIE! Two weeks later, I woke up on Saturday morning to a bill that had been texted to my phone from Dr. Dixon's office for a few hundred dollars. Now, imagine the shock that would come with seeing this, after paying your co-pay upfront and being reassured several times during the visit as well as before and after some random form is abruptly presented to you by your doctor that "nothing was going to be done today, this is just a part of the initial visit." So when I called later to figure out where the charge was coming from, I learned that the paper I had signed after Dr. Dixon request to use this camera to look in my nose for less than 2 minutes as "just a part of the initial visit" was actually now an unexpected bill of $306.31. My concern with Dr. Dixon's practice and certain members of his office team is that when I conveyed what had been communicated with me by Dr. Dixon himself during that visit, and questioned why the charge had been coded separate from the initial visit and the ethics of that decision, I never received a clear answer, there was NO attempt to be accountable for Dr. Dixon's mistakenly or unmistakably misleading information regarding the form he presented, and none of my calls requesting the opportunity to speak with someone in billing about my concerns were ever returned. So I'm writing this because I DO NOT WANT anybody to ever have this experience. It's not right, it's unethical, and it's hurtful. When you go to see a doctor, you are putting trust in the provider to help you, NOT TO HURT YOU mentally, emotionally, and financially. I'm disappointed with my experience visiting Dr.Dixon's practice and will not be returning. And if you made it this far in this review, I'd encourage you to stay away too.

After I explained my vocal cord/ bloating symptoms, Julian immediately asked if I had ever had an allergy test. I declined his offer to have one performed and he sarcastically replied, "I usually perform an allergy test for each of my patients, but you're the boss, you know best" I explained to the doctor that I was price sensitive because of the pandemic and was trying to any avoid unnecessary costs. I originally actually only wanted a laryngoscopy performed without the initial $246 consultation, but was told that Julian would not perform a laryngoscopy without an initial consultation which was why I was there. Julian then mocked me about my interest in a laryngoscopy when he stated that, "I've seen plenty of people like you walk through my door and all they needed was omeprazole to alleviate their symptoms, but I will perform a laryngoscopy and we can fit you in this week". At this point, I told the doctor that I was previously prescribed omeprazole when I had esophagitis and so perhaps I should take the medication I have at home and see if it helps alleviate my symptoms before having a laryngoscopy performed. He replied, "Sure, we can move the laryngoscopy for next week". I became was very skeptical of the doctor when he said 'next week' because that seemed much too soon especially since I originally took the omeprazole for two weeks before I stopped taking it. I mentioned this and we agreed that I would take the omeprazole for two weeks before having the laryngoscopy performed. Here's THE WORST PART OF THE VISIT: Before we parted and after we agreed to the above omeprazole/ laryngoscopy 2 week plan, the doctor asked if he could review my nostrils to which I replied, "Sure, I see no harm with you checking my nostrils". I honestly believed it was an regular and ordinary task that would not incur an additional expense. APPARENTLY, at the start of the visit I signed a form stating that he could perform procedures during the visit that were separate from the cost of the consultation... Julian Dixon, MD checked my nostrils for 10 seconds, asked me if I had trouble breathing out of my right nostril-- to which I replied no, not really-- and then the visit was over. What was that 10 second nostril check? Oh, that was a $525 Nasal endoscopy. When I called to contest the completely unnecessary procedure, well they knocked off $100 and said that should make me happy. When I called their offices again, complained and said I wanted a doctor aside from Julian to review my complaint, I was told that I signed a form authorizing "procedures" and therefore am liable. So, should I be happy they knocked off $100? Or should I feel cheated, taken advantage of, and disgusted at the obvious, repeated efforts from Julian Dixon to perform unnecessary procedures to milk as much money as he can from each person that walks through his door so he can afford his J Crew blazers and slim ties? They could've knocked off $524, and I still would've written this review because the deceptive practices at Julian Dixon, MD and associates are completely unacceptable and they deserve to have their reputation tarnished.

Last week was the surgery and it went very well. Dr. Rastatter is a skilled surgeon and the procedure took almost exactly as long as expected (about 25 minutes). I'm really glad that I had Dr. Rastatter to care for my little one, since although I knew it was a routine and fairly minor surgery, having my one year old undergo surgery and begin away from her for that time was still hard. I first visited Dr. Rastatter's office after noticing my daughter was starting to sound like Darth Vader and thought she may need her adenoids removed. Dr Rastatter took one look in her nose and suggested that she did indeed need them removed since they were blocking about 90% of her nose. Poor baby! The following month we were one of the first patients in the new Children's Hospital. My 19 month old didn't really know what was going on, but I was a nervous mess since she'd never been under anesthesia before. In fact, she'd never even been on antibiotics or anything before! Fortunately, Dr Rastatter made sure the procedure was as painless as possible (for both me and my little one). The entire procedure took no longer than 30 minutes and I'll admit I had a slight heart attack when my phone rang halfway thru the surgery and it was the Dr himself calling. He reassured my husband right away that everything was going well, but inquired if we wanted to also remove our daughter's tonsils since they looked much bigger than when she had been his office the month earlier. We asked for his expert opinion and he said if it was his own kid (and he has a little one close in age) he'd wait to see if they shrink on their own since tonsil removal can be a bit surgery for such a little one. We took him up on his advice and asked him to remove just the adenoids (as originally planned). Minutes later he came out and informed us that everything had gone well...and our little one was waiting in recovery for us. She was a little groggy for the rest of the day, but was running around and completely back to normal by the very next morning. Dr Rastatter's office also called a few times over the next few weeks to check-up on her. Most importantly I've noticed a big improvement in my daughter's health since the surgery. She can breathe thru her nose again, is sleeping amazingly well (although she was always a pretty good sleeper), isn't breathing thru her mouth as heavily and has had fewer colds. I' glad we went thru with the surgery and even more thrilled that we found such a fantastic pediatric ENT to do it! I'm do hoping her tonsils shrink on their own, but if she does end up having to get them removed we'll be repeat patients of Dr Rastatter's.
