Since the tests are performed from "a single blood draw" and only "one tube is used", there is no additional work involved. I was surprised when I was quoted over $200 for each titer. To make sure I understood the charges, I contacted multiple locations. I spoke with Keona at the Sterling Heights location, who told me she confirmed the pricing with her manager. I also spoke with Kristen at the Southfield location, who confirmed the pricing and told me she did not make the prices. After reminding her that she is a representation of Concentra I asked to be sent to the corporate office. At corporate, I spoke with Ruby, who initially told me the charges were correct and charged for their services. After I explained that I planned to share my experience in online reviews, she placed me on hold to verify the information. When she returned, she told me that the quoted price did include the laboratory fee. The conflicting information I received left me with more questions than answers, and I was not comfortable moving forward. I decided to take my business back to Quest Diagnostics. They recently charged me $58 for a Comprehensive Panel which includes 16 test. My advice is to ask for an itemized estimate, confirm exactly what is and is not included in the quoted price, and compare costs with other providers before agreeing to testing. As for me... A blood draw order not sent to correct place, several follow up for mri scans , wrong mri 1.5 versus T3 radilogist corrected. all adding up to months and months while cancer progressed. I feel I lost control. It seems nobody seems to understand I need them to pre authorization to get treatment. After 13 years of following my PC I feel let down.
