It is a blessing and a curse that Beccofino is located directly across the road from where I live, as I have an ongoing love affair with anything Italian. The food, the wine, the way of life. It just makes sense to me that people should be able to eat and drink unashamedly. Beccofino is the best place to embrace this sort of Italianism! Whether you're after some delicious takeaway or a beautiful dine in meal, this restaurant is the place to come. The service is always impeccable, and the staff are always well versed in the food and the specials. Not once that I have been there have they ever read the specials off a piece of paper- they know exactly what's in all the food. The owner Paolo runs a tight ship, and it's not uncommon for him to rouse on his staff in front of customers, but it's all in the name of exceptional service. One thing that can be difficult with Beccofino is that they don't take bookings. I've had to wait for a table on a few occasions, but it's usually on a busy weekend and I've never waited longer than half and hour...plus, it's worth it! With the menu changing seasonally, and the specials changing nightly, there is always something new and delicious to sample. My personal favourite dishes are the affettati misti for primi (warmed marinated olives, grissini and a series of cured meats) and linguine all' astice (linguine with bug meat, chilli, cherry tomatoes, garlic and white wine sauce). Coupled with a bottle of the Speri La Roverina Valpolicella from Veneto, it makes for an unforgettable meal. Whether you're impressing someone on a first date, celebrating a special occasion or just a lover of great Italian food, you really do need to pencil a trip to Beccofino in your diary!

Forget celebrity chef restaurants with inspired by Italy menus. When it comes to needing that home cooked-style Italian meal (and short of selecting Pavarotti on Spotify and cooking something myself), Beccofino is where I make a beeline for. I'd say make a reservation for but you can't, you just have to hope you arrive during a lull and can be seated pronto. And sure, you could venture into the pizza menu but I'm predictable at best and stick to a standard order of calamari to start and a main of their signature duck ragu. It really doesn't get any closer to soul food than this for me. It can make a dull day brighter and feel like a warm hug that says, "Chin up, poppet. It's all going to be okay." So next time someone in your group says, "I feel like Italian!" You've got just the place to show off your mad local knowledge. You're welcome!

My friends were claiming Beccofino has the best pizza in New Farm/Tenneriffe, so we had to see if they were right. We popped in for an early dinner on a Tuesday night before a show at the Powerhouse. Lucky we arrived just after 6pm, because by 6:45pm this place was heaving. People were waiting for tables to free up and it wasn't letting up by the time we left at 7:30pm. Beccofino has lovely atmosphere, Lounge music playing leisurely throughout the restaurant. Their wine list was mostly made up of Italian wines - YUM. 3 of us ordered Pizzas (Funghi Misti, Bresaola and Salsiccie) and one ordered the Linguine all' Astice after reading another Yelp review saying it was delicious. Probably because we had gotten our orders in before the rush, the kitchen was extremely fast and we had our meals no more than 10 minutes after ordering. The pizzas are really large, but that crust is just so delicious and thin, if you split one pizza between two people you would definitely need something else. Each table gets a basket of bread and olive oil to nibble on, and the olive oil is something out of this world. If you have not had good olive oil before, you must try it! We managed to squeeze in dessert as well and tried both the Semifreddo and the Pannacotta. The Semifreddo is described as "Homemade Nougat and Chocolate Icream" and I guess I thought that would mean Nougat, plus chocolate ice-cream. However it is vanilla ice-cream with nought and chocolate pieces through out - which is even better than what I thought it was. This was the highlight dessert, sadly there was only one piece left by 7pm. The Pannacotta was also delicious and a lighter option if you're not a fan of sweet ice-cream and chocolate. For 4 people eating mains and dessert, 3 drinking soft drink and 1 drinking wine, it came to $140. For a Tenneriffe restaurant, I think that's pretty reasonable. And I definitely think their pizza is up there, close to being the best pizza I've had in Brisbane! My friends also told me Beccofino does takeaway too!

The calzone pizza was huge and delicious. It could feed two people! Although there were a lot of people during dinner, we were given a table in about 30 minutes. Try also the gelato nearby!

The Tartufo pizza. Delicious and full of truffle!

The best pizza and pasta in Brissy - except for their second venue at Julius. The service can be a bit uppity at times depending who you get, and how good looking of a female you are! But service is generally good with amazing food. The pizza bases are the cloest you will find to a Napoli style pizza base although Julius is a bit better for this. They have a great selection of wines including Italian wines that aren't easy to find elsewhere. You will love the food! My tips are the Duck Pappardelle, Tartufo pizza or the Calamari Fritti. Yum!

There was a lot to choose from but not so much that you got lost in it. We decided to start with a Margarita pizza. Handmade base, fresh cheese, tomato and basil was hot and delicious. For the mains, I had "Ragu Di Coda Di Bue" which is Slowly cooked oxtail ragout removed from the bone and served with strozzapretti pasta. Stunning dish with beautiful flavours that complimented each other. My dining companion had the "Linguini Al Sapori Del Mare" which is a variety of fresh local seafood, sautéed with garlic, chilli, fresh parsley and fresh tomato. He said that it was probably one of the best seafood marinara that he has had anywhere. The seafood was cooked perfectly. Dessert was the Sticky Date Pudding and "Tortino Ai Tre Cioccolati" which is the sweet spongy torte baked with three chocolates. One word for this - amazing. This is definitely the sort of place you would want to take someone on a 'date night' or even a group of friends. Prices are very reasonable and they also have a very good wine selection. I am really looking forward to going back here.

Nonetheless our table was seated by a friendly waiter (turned out to be from Bologna) who was fun, polite and attentive...a good mix. Mussels were a standout from the appetizers and with a deliciously creamy red sauce was a perfect excuse to eat copious of bread. The mains was when the food really turned up a notch with both pastas and pizzas consistently delicious. From pork and veal tortellini with a creamy ham sauce to ricotta stuffed pizzas and delicious wild barramundi, everything was delicious! I wasn't drinking and probably a good thing becuase the wine list wasn't great and they were apparently out of stock. I will be back!

I congratulate Bucci on serving my table on a busy Friday client lunch, there were 20 of us and we were looked after well and the service went seemingly smoothly given the quantity that we had ordered. To start the lunch off we ordered BUCCI SALAMI Platters, ARRANCINI di FUNGI, Melanzane alls Parmigiarna, plus some other little balls - all of which were to die for and one could completely come back and just share some of this with a couple glasses of the delicious Chianti or the Sangiovese that they have in the cellar. Both of which were great wines. For main I went mainstream with the chargrilled wagyu rump which was delicious and cooked to perfection- the artichoke that garnished the meal really made it and whet my appetite for desert which was a tough choice between the affogato, the grappa and what we eventually decided on...."the best chocolate cake ever" Chocolate Nemesis del "River Cafe" with vanilla marscapone and crushed raspberries - Yum! Highly recommend melt in your mouth quality! I will definitely come back to Bucci, definitely not a day to day restaurant, but as far as Italian Restaurants go, very high quality indeed.

We turned up and were seated earlier - at 5:45pm even though they had a sign up about opening at 6pm. Good service and that part. We decided to share entrees (CIABATTA RUSTICA and RICOTTA DELLA NONNA AL FORNO CON FICHI) and IL POLPO ARROSTITO. Food was fresh and delicious. It was first time I tested fresh figs and was very nicely surprised by its taste. Octopus was very well prepared. Baked ricotta was interestingly presented. Service was professional and friendly. The only one thing I was a bit disappointed with was selection of wines. They apparently do not have any slightly sweet wine that is not desert wine. I had a coctail (listed as first) that was slightly sweet but sour more. I would recommend to anyone taste BUCCÏ GELATO E SORBETO SELECTION as desert. Gelato was light but satisfactory. BUCCI TIRAMISU had a rich layer of cacao on top, decarated by piece of delicisious dark thin piece of chocolate. I was very impressed with the restaurant, food and service they deliver. The only one unfortunate is pricing...it is definitely a great venue for special occassion but definitely not for regular dinning :(

I visited this new addition to Musgrave Road as part of a Brisbane festive degustation tour and we were treated to a set menu lunch which the restaurant was also offering for Christmas Day. Had I not already made Christmas Day plans, I may have been persuaded by sweet Italian whispers to dine here. We began our lunch with a classic bruschetta and garlic focaccia. Don't be fooled, although simple, a classic bruschetta can be bad. Not here though. There was barely a moment to cherish the time spent with these fresh flavours before we were introduced to our entree, a large singular ravioli filled with fresh ricotta and spinach and served with cherry tomato sauce, parmesan and basil. I can still feel the melting of the pasta on my tongue. Can I have a moment alone here please? Of the mains, I could have left the pork belly (I'm just not that into it, OKAY!?!) but the barramundi with an olive crust and fennel cream - well bring it on! By the time dessert was put before us I'm sure I wasn't the only one whose stomach was reaching its limit. For those playing at home, it was a sampler of the two desserts on offer Christmas Day - fruit salad and traditional pannetone with a raspberry mousse and vanilla gelato. Don't let the location or the home-style interior fool you. Colle Rosso is rustic, just-the-way-your-Nonna-makes-it Italian and worth the trip to Red Hill.
