After a night of traveling from one side of the island to the other, we were in search of good food late. I stumbled across this spot on Yelp that said it was 24 hours. The reviews are great so I decided to see if it lived up to all the hype. 1. It closed at 11pm on a tuesday when we went. So it's not 24 hours anymore. (We barely made it) 2. Put "Routes Car Rental" in your gps to find it. I had a super hard time going to the wrong locations. It's right next to the McDonalds. 3. I got 1/2 of the pernil, 1/2 chicken, 1/2 rib a small rice, fries, a vanilla flan and 2 sodas. It was less than $30 and the portions were huge. It was enough for two of us and we had leftovers! So be careful when you order to not get too much! The hype is well deserved. The food is very good. However, the chicken was a little too dry for my taste but again we were there right before closing time. If you are getting a car rental the line can be huge! I suggest sending someone here to grab food for y'all! read more

The best food you'll find in Puerto Rico. Seriously. I've been to PR 6 times and counting, have stayed with locals (family) and we always agree that this is the best place we ate at each time. The lechón is awesome. The arroz con gandules are full of garlicky flavor, and the amarillos (sweet plantains) are done just right. Such AMAZING food! The BBQ chicken is top notch. Dark and white meat are moist and juicy. The Puerto Rican sausage is flavorful and rich in herbs. It is hard to explain, but it is more like chicken in a sausage casing than it is sausage. The prices are so good too because you order some by the lb. The half chicken, pound of sausage, and a large rice was only $22. Could feed an entire family for cheap really. You order at the lady outside and then they make and bag up your food to include plates/forks/napkins and then you pay at the window. Very nice people and very good service. We basically ordered whatever the lady mentioned to us (whole chicken, pernil, ribs) and they were all delicious! We also got rice and beans, plantains and yucca. The yucca was quite salty but acceptable with the rice and beans. TLDR: good bang for buck. dont need to actually be able to speak spanish to order food. This is definitely a first stop place as soon as you leave San Juan airport. It's only five minutes away from the terminal. We arrived at the start of lunch hour, and the parking lot was packed. The dining area was packed too even though it was 91 degrees so we quickly ordered our food and retreated back to the air conditioner of our car to enjoy our food. We ordered a pound of ribs, a pound of carne frida or fried pork chunks, three whole sweet plantains, an order of fries and three drinks for only $34 with plenty of leftovers. It's a struggle here if you don't speak fluent Spanish. There is no menu and long lines. They will take your order in advance while you're in line and they have no patience explaining their menu or trying to understand your broken Spanish. I ordered the mofongo hastily and also got ribs and yucca . I was given the death stare and seconds away from being screamed at. Not sure if it was intentional, but at least 6 people ahead of me and another 6 behind me got their food but I stood there waiting like a fool. The other customers saw what was happening and spoke up for me. It was then that they started preparing the food and I got it minutes later. The food itself wasn't spectacular either. Theres really no outside cooling system for the outdoor seating when it's humid but it is really spacious. Located across the street from the landing strip by at the air port. Located a short seven minutes from the airport, which can be turned into five if driving fast enough on a Jeep over the speed bumps and potholes, this is the spot to be. Friends coming to converse. And oddly, not a single tourist in sight. Despite its proximity to the airport, it is not a tourist trap by any means, which makes it even more of a find. Bebo's lechon is top grade. Succulent, fatty, with crispy skin. It is very, very good. How else can one describe it other than a paradise created by a once happy pig. Amazing meats minimal seasoning so you get the fatty texture and crunchy skin meat. They have all the Boricua sides and cold drinks at affordable working man prices. Not a tourist trap, you'll mix in with cabbie and airport workers and families picking up to take home. If you dine in someone takes your order while you wait in line, take a seat and they'll call your name out for payment. They do a lot of takeaway too. The food was good but certainly not great. I had much better food on previous visits. We went by twice and did chicken one day, pork the other. Yellow rice was a little bland, pork was moist and delicious, and the chicken was as good as any other rotisserie I've had. White rice was NOT good at all. Not even close to being rated "ok", it was hard in some places and you can just tell it was left over from maybe the night before or longer. They're still opened 24 hrs a day. Not sure I understand the hype of this place. It cost us $20 for 1/4lb of ribs, 1/4 of lechon, 1 cup of arroz con gandules, 1 sweet potato and 1 can of soda. For the same price you can feed 2 people with fresh fish or juicy and tasty mofongo at other San Juan restaurants. The food itself was very, very greasy. Also, the pigeons/men gambling and drinking/flies are not the best atmosphere while eating next to the highway. We had to ask for napkins since the food was so oily, and you can ask for the 1 bottle of hot sauce they keep behind the counter- you'll need it.
