A very charming space overlooking the water. The Boathouse is located on 116 Gordon St in Guelph…read more There is parking available right along the paved walkway (angle parking only). If you follow the route, it leads to another bigger parking lot. Parking is free! Reservations are highly recommended. My guest and I made a reservation for two for 1:30pm. It was very busy when we walked in. We got a table right by the door. There were artwork and paintings hung all around the cafe - it was cute. I ordered an afternoon tea set, as well as an extra breakfast burrito for my guest and I to share. There is a tea menu to look at all the various options they have. It was nice to see that they had many options to choose. Our set came with mini sandwiches, scones and dessert and fruits. I would definitely come back to visit - it would be nice to come in the summer and book a table out on their patio.

Great location and customer service…read more Scones: Decent. A little sweet (which I like), served with whipped cream and strawberry jam. Fruit: The fruit was the best part of all our meals here. It was so fresh and sweet, which I thought would be difficult to find outside of California! I also enjoyed it with cottage cheese, which is not so common at breakfast spots in California unfortunately. Tea: The tea is enjoyable but pretty average when compared to bougier tea spots like The Bruce in Stratford. It's not clear how long I should let it steep for for optimal flavor. I preferred the Winter Dream green tea, which was warm and cozy, slightly sweet. I also preferred the McCrae over the Boathouse blend. The Boathouse blend was a little basic for me, and the McCrae had a slight sweetness that I enjoyed. High Tea: Average - a good price and pleasant experience, especially if the weather is nice enough to eat outside (and catch a bald eagle flying by!). My favorite dessert was the carrot cake cupcake. Ice Cream: Yes, ice cream and tea is definitely a good idea! The banana cream pie tastes like your classic Runts banana flavor (the original banana that got wiped out) and the black cherry has plenty of big cherry pieces. Great servings, and we loved that they served them in reusable bowls instead of disposable ones. Would definitely come again!

This chain is starting to open up so many new locations as it became super popular this past year!…read moreI go back to Guelph occasionally to visit my family and so glad this place opened up. They recently opened up last week and they were already so busy when we came into the store at 9pm on a Sunday night. The location replaced the Popeyes on Woodlawn road. They have a variety of flavors with different types of syrups as well as jam filled donuts. The "puffs" remind me of a mixture between TimHortons Timbits for the look and funnel cake for the texture. The puffs are super light and airy and when you have them freshly made, it's super crisp and crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside, so good! I've had it before but it wasn't as fresh but was still good. When I finally tried them fresh this weekend, it was addictive! We ordered a box of 50 and the price was decent for the amount of puffs we got (~little over $26). They also serve other menu items to go along with the puffs such as coffee, tea and milkshakes. They also carry other desserts such as ice cream and "tornadoes" which is similar to McFlurry or DQ Blizzard desserts. Since it will start to get warmer soon, I will definitely come back to try their cold items!

Mr. Puffs has got you covered with their ice cream options including: Mount Olympus, soft-serve ice cream and a side of Puffs, drizzled with your favorite glaze. If you are looking for a little pick-me-up, our coffee menu will do the trick. Hot and iced coffees and drinks are available on our menu.

Went on a day trip to Elora and the sun was absolutely angry. After meandering around the beautiful…read moretown for half an hour, my body was begging for a cooldown. We spotted a cart selling Cold Cofee and I immediately gulped it down. I thought that would be enough but then I spotted a huge crowd around a store. Intrigued, I approached and noticed it was an Ice-cream shop. My foodie instincts kicked in. I immeditely stood in queue. I was lucky that by the time I decided, the crowd had dispersed a bit and my number came after a 5 minute wait. I scanned the menu on the glass window and ordered the large cup with 2 scoops: -Mango - Hazelnut Praline Paid around $9.50 with taxes and stepped away, only to notice that during our wait the queue had grown tremendously and still growing. Thanking my stars, i stepped away from the crowd and dug into the flavors. The mango was delicious. It wasn't overly sweet and had a bit of tang to it. It was more of a sorbet and had flavorsome resemblence to the real fruit. The Hazelnut Praline was creamy and on the sweeter side. The flavor had nice hazelnut tones but I'd have prefer a much deeper flavor, especially of praline. The two contrasting flavors made us enjoy each of them thoroughly, especially on a sunny day. To Foodies: There are a lot of places at Elora delling ice-creams and soft serves - we tried a couple. Of them all, this one was the best. They have lots of flavors and variety of items to satisfy your sweet cravings. Though some may find it a bit on the expensive side. To Management. Great service. Good ice-cream. Nice assortment of flavors.. A bit of queue management outside the shop will make the experience better. Overall, it was a delicious,soul-satisfying experience on a hot, sunny day. Family had strawberry which was good. We had Peanut Butter (Chocolate) Chip. Not sure what the base for the ice cream was, but it was less "creamy" and way overloaded with mini chocolate chips. My preference would have been reversed, more creamy peanut butter and less chocolate chips. There are other options that we would love to try. Definitely coming back when we are in town again. The place is a literal hole in the wall and the service was quick and friendly.
