When we arrived, the store wasn't very busy, but the employee helping us didn't seem particularly interested in doing the reels while we were there. He told us to leave them and come back later, so we went and had lunch and returned to pick them up. We drove straight to Convict Lake to start fishing. Almost immediately, I started getting huge balls and knots of line coming off my reel. Then the exact same thing started happening to my buddy's reel. We ended up losing a significant amount of the brand-new line just trying to clear the tangles. The next day at Saddlebag Lake, I went to cast another one of my reels and had the same problem again, with multiple loops of line coming off the spool at once. I've been fishing for years and have never had anything like this happen. One reel having an issue could be a fluke, but all four reels having problems immediately after being re-spooled is a different story. It appeared the line was put on without the proper tension, and we ended up losing close to half the line on some of the reels because of the massive knots and tangles. It was extremely frustrating because we specifically stopped at a sporting goods store and paid to have this done properly before our fishing trip. Instead, we spent part of our trip dealing with tangled line and wasted brand-new fishing line. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not recommend having your reels re-spooled here.

My toes bear the most abuse as I climb downhill so I decided to invest in a pair of running shoes. The difference between the two are 'night' and 'day'. Hiking shoes: I have three pairs and they all have shock-absorbing foam midsoles, and durable rubber outsoles with aggressive tread patterns for traction on dirt and rocks. I've interchanged using one to the other for 6 years now and thought I've become accustomed to them. Unfortunately, my recent hikes told me otherwise. My last hike to Chilnualna Falls nearly took my toenails off. My toes hit the hard toe cap and were bruised from the hike down. It may be true that hiking shoes might prevent ankle twists but I couldn't hike for weeks after that adventure. Running shoes: Running shoes are lightweight and flexible. They're engineered to absorb shock. I hiked with my 'new' running shoes to two different trails and my feet were quite comfortable. My toes did not smash into the toe caps and the shoes weigh much less than my hiking boots. I just have to be careful not to twist my ankles. I've always had a difficult time finding shoes to fit my small feet, so I was pleasantly surprised to find my running shoes at BIG 5. It's a perfect time to visit the store because of their 'special'. I got 25% off on top of the discounted price listed. Sara checked me out and mentioned that. If she had not mentioned the extra 25% off, I would have not known. So, Sara - thank you for your assistance. I truly appreciate your help.
