An elder lady training the younger female how to do the Uhaul check out. I needed to rent the Uhaul for a move. Took a little while but I had patience for her training. Anyways rented out a truck here was returning the truck to some other location near the new place. And this happened in the process. Cord reals came off the track and got all tangled up and Had to use these lids to prop it open all the way because the cords got tangled and would shut only 25% and I still had to unload. Called the Uhaul hotline, and they sent some tech gentleman out to us. Took him about an hour to get out to us. And let me tell you, ALWAYS PURCHASE THE ROADSIDE WARRANTY OR WHAT EVER THEY OFFER !!!!!! We did and I'm so happy we did!!!!!! No charge all taken care of. So the tech fixed it and it was read to go. I finished unloading before he got there. So it all worked out. I just wish Uhaul rental shops greased up the tracks and take a little more care of the rental trucks. When somebody brings back a truck clean it grease it and make sure all works properly. That's all just some advice. Anyways it was a lesson learned even though I got the road side assistance vehicle warranty with it for the rent, taught me to do it again and always! Haha. Cuz u never know what will happen down the road. ;)

A Hispanic-looking employee came over to me and said to me "For future reference, you need to put your water in the back of the cart. He then proceeded to move my water from the front of the cart to the back. He then said, "It fits nicely back here". He then moved my cart from where I had it and proceeded to take all of my groceries out of my cart and put them on the checkout counter. He then moved my cart back to the front of where I was standing and then walked away without saying a word. He did not do this to anyone else who was checking out. This was a humiliating experience because he exercised his obvious contempt for me and did it in full view of everyone in the store. I spend at least $200-$300 a week in this store and I get treated like this. This is not the first time this has happened and it always happens in the self-checkout line. It seems this store puts the rudest person on their staff to work this line.

But it has everything I needed and more. I have been looking for wheel cover all over the place (I'm not from this area). I felt so lucky to pick one from many selections on the shelf. I actually came here during Tropical Depression 16 on Saturday September 23. Right in the middle of my shopping trip, the rain started to pour. Non-stop for over an hour. I was glad there were no roof leaks at the Ashland Walmart Supercenter. I stayed for as long as I could, like shop till you drop. Employees were friendly and I had no issues (Asians are rarely seen in this part of town). If I stay in Ashland next time, I would come back for fruits to eat at hotel.

Another visit to our local Food Lion…read more Pre-Independence Day, the store is running some great specials on holiday essentials -- large seedless watermelons for $2.49, corn on the cob (4 for $1), and Turkey Hill ice cream (2 for $6). All were in stock and looking good. We were less successful in finding some items from our shopping list. I needed some specific produce items for recipes that weren't on the shelves -- eggplants, mung bean sprouts, scallions -- though they often carry them. While the latter two items were not in stock, we got exceptional service from a young man who was stocking items in the produce section. He ran back-and-forth to the back, with a smile on his face, to see if any of these items were there, waiting to be put out on the shelves. He found eggplants for us, and also an estimate for when the other items would be coming in. We love that this Food Lion is now selling fresh organic herbs -- basil, cilantro, mint, rosemary, and more -- that are still in small pots with dirt. We purchased a mint one for $3.49, which provides a larger quantity of fresh product than the small amount in the plastic containers. We also wanted to buy a basil one but many of the basil leaves were shriveled and dry so we opted for one of the small plastic containers. I also needed some specialty items -- and was unsuccessful in finding coriander seeds, star anise, and rice vermicelli noodles. The latter seemed to be sold there but were out-of-stock. Sigh, I've just had to order these three items online from a large retailer. A final note. We had a pleasant check-out experience. The line was short, the cashier was VERY friendly and efficient, and our bill was correct.
