I have 3 kids under 9 that are small enough to sit on a kayak with an adult. Most of the time my husband & I rent 3 kayaks, a $90 rental. On this occasion we had friends with their own kayaks floating and we decided to rent a tandem kayak instead, a $60 rental, and let 2 children ride with the friends. Upon arrival, I asked my husband to pull up to the stairs & drop me off so that I could check in. It's the bus turn around area, there appeared to be no other customers present except 1 other person in our party, my knee was killing me, and it wasnt a big deal. However, the young man driving the bus didnt think so and was quick to reprimand. I explained my husband was just dropping me with my injured knee off so I could check in. The young man with his super trooper shades then repeated himself and continues to tell me about it being the bus turn around and how we aren't supposed to drive there. It was a no harm, no foul situation and I really didn't feel I needed a lecture as my husband was just trying to help me avoid any extra knee pain. My first indication of the rudeness I was about to encounter. The owner Jerrid greeted me when I walked in the office. He tells me I had to pay the take out fees for my friends kayaks. Friends boats, not mine. I tried to call my friends but couldn't get through so I paid the fees for the boats that weren't mine, $15. Then he tells me each of my kids has a $20 shuttle fee adding up to $60. According to the website, this is the fee per person for shuttling boats, but now he is telling me its for shuttling 3 small kids, all less than 50lbs each, on a bus going 3.5 miles with their parents. We went from a $60 rental to $135 to cover my friends boats docking there and shuttle(bus) fees for 3 small kids without boats. I tried to explain that we had never had shuttle fees for my children & I felt at least one of them should be included in the $60 rental, as they had never charged me extra for shuttling them with 3 kayaks and I have ALWAYS been upfront about taking my kids. I mentioned the really nice blonde haired lady that worked the office in the past & how she knew the situation. Maybe that's what set him off, as I suggested she was his wife and he is divorced. Or maybe it was just that I wasn't willing to hand over $75 more to him on a slow, end of the season day bt this is when he began raising his voice & talking over me. He proceeded to tell me how I have been stealing from him if I had not paid his shuttle fees in the past. Lets call them bus fees as there was no boat shuttling involved here. I said I would have my friends at the kayak park come get my children, no big deal. He continued yelling at me and slamming things, not just in front of his children that were in the room but he followed me outside, slamming the doors in his establishment, and yelling at me in front of my children. He literally yelled that all I 'had to do was be kind'. He yelled it! Stop for a second a check yourself Jerrid. I wasn't treated with an ounce of kindness from the second we pulled in. Jerrid slammed the door of his office so hard that it was felt in the stairs on the other side and my family said you could see the windows shake. All because I wasn't willing to pay the excessive fees he presented & found a reasonable way to save $. He then tried to tell us to all get on the shuttle after having a temper tantrum about shuttle fees & me being a thief. As it turns out, my friends had already paid that $5/boat fee. Ironic bc he accused me of stealing from him. When informed, Jerrid threw cash at my friend & told him I wasn't welcomed back & he's going to "put my name in the computer". Jerrid you can put it in the computer, write it on a wall, sketch it in some stone, but there is no way I will EVER support your establishment again. He's clearly unstable. Jerrid & his staff have a lot to learn about being gracious to their customers.

The sites were easy to book online but there aren't great photos to help with the selection. It'd be nice to be able to leave user reviews, so the website managers don't have to take time to input all the data. Check in is from 4-7pm on weekdays. We arrived around 6pm on a Wednesday evening and checked in at the host station. Got our car tag and went to see the site. Oohf, I don't recommend #91. On a hill. Buffy. Full of garbage. No water and the restrooms were just the pit toilets. That info was on one of the maps, but I didn't notice. The attendant showed us how to change the reservation on the app so we could drive around and see what was available for our dates and make a switch. #85 was much better!! Flatter, with power still in the shade, a short walk from restrooms that flush. We were tent camping, and the space just beyond the paved space was flat enough for a 2 person backpacking tent. Our neighbors were fairly quiet. Those restrooms were clean! We used the shower house on the other side of the park. We did drive over there since we would have gotten sweaty on the hilly walk back. It'd be nice if there were showers on this side of the park as well. The showers were clean enough. The water did puddle up quite a bit. I wish that the temperature was adjustable. The water was quite warm, and there was very little ventilation in the room, so it was hard to dry off afterwards with the humidity and sweating. A cool shower would have been nice. The other thing that would be nice is more garbage cans. There is quite a bit of wildlife, so I understand limiting it somewhat. But I think there'd be less on the ground if there were more accessible trash cans. There did seem to be a long term tent city close to the playground and shower house. There was also some sort of police situation when we checked in as well. I would not camp here solo. We ended up leaving a day early. Partly because of the heat, and partially because it was louder and rowdier on the weekend. It was easy enough to change the reservation and check out early (and get the last night refunded!! Which was unexpected) The price is low, which has its pros and cons. We will probably stay here again, but only if there isn't space available at Coler.

Idk who runs the place, but I think there does need to be a little better security or someone to make rounds at the site and make sure things are ok, but other than than that, pretty good.

Although I brought supplies for making French press coffee, I ended up getting an iced late at the coffee shop in the main office. We had some of the breakfast buffet (carton eggs, sausage, hashbrowns) and it was all pretty good. We signed up for a glow tube night trip on Friday and a float trip on Saturday. Both were fun but I don't think I'd need to do 2 float trips in a weekend in the future. The resort drops you off at the tubing drop site up the river and you end either at the resort or a mile up the river where they'll bus you back. It's pricey but it does include a lot of amenities and is definitely a one stop shop for tubing. I think next year we'll look into the cabins or pods. ;tldr it's pricey but you get hot showers, toilets, coffee, and busing for the float trips built in. Late night loop is rowdy so if you want something more quiet, consider avoiding this area.

This is something I've been wanting to do but haven't had enough confidence to do but I have amazing friends who it took a year to talk me into doing it. Right now I'm not sure how amazing they are given the fact I'm hurting and having trouble standing up from all the soreness but I will continue. I am very self conscious and I can give you every excuse as to why it's taken me so long to get into the gym but one major reason is the cost of childcare or lack of childcare. BurnBody has childcare available at no additional cost and no hidden fees. The woman there are amazing.. they're beasts! I'm struggling and they encourage and help you through. The only judgement I feel is from myself. In my three days I've met two of the coaches Gretchen and Josh and they're amazing. Supportive. They push you and help in a good way but they don't push you so hard that you hurt yourself. Do I recommend this place? Heck yeah. I'm really glad I joined and I hope that I continue. So I'm a little over a month in and I'm addicted. I'm not the type of person who loves fitness and working out... I love food and more food. But this is something different. The group of women are phenomenal and I feel better about myself. I'm gaining not only friends but confidence and losing fat becoming healthier. I'm sadly eating healthier and it's doing good things to my body and healthy. It's awesome. The work outs are still hard and I'm not coordinated enough to get it right each time but the coaches are amazing and will come up and correct me so I don't hurt myself. The coaches bring great energy, and there's a strong sense of community that's motivating and supportive. It's clear that the program is designed to deliver results, and it does! That said, one thing I've found a bit tough is the rigidity of the structure. While I understand the value of group cohesion, there doesn't seem to be any flexibility for accommodations for individual needs during class. For instance, you are not permitted to do any exercise other than what the group is doing, even if you are listening to your body and trying to avoid burnout or injury. Or, I sometimes need to stretch and will do that while the instructor is explaining the next exercise but you are required to stand up and keep moving. I know when I need to push and when I need to adjust and a workout facility and trainers should not only understand that but should be there to provide other options as well!

There is a designated "beach" area that is sandy. This time of year - July - the water was pretty warm and clear. We did not swim in the water - next time we will. We went on a Saturday in the morning time and it was not very crowded, but it seemed to start to fill up faster as it approached noon. Fun area to come with family and friends and enjoy some food and the lake on a hot summer day!

The scariest part was the rope came off the tube when we pulled it, it was simply not tied on properly. I've been on the lake a number of times both on rented and owned boats. This was the only bad experience so far.

This was our second year of camping at Coler over winter break. We love the access to the trails,…read morethe small size of the campground, the secure feeling of the gated sites, and the bath house! Since this is the off season, it hasn't been very crowded either of our visits. Ben, the host, checks in with everyone at some point of their stay. We felt supported. Folks generally respect quiet hours (10-7) so we've always gotten good sleep! I like how the lights go off at 10 as well. It's quite dark so you can really appreciate the stars on a clear night. We stay in a camper van spot, with a SUV camper setup. With our smaller vehicle size, there is room for our vehicle as well as our tarp/kitchen setup behind the car. Each spot comes with leveling blocks, which are necessary since the spots all slope slightly. I assume this keeps them from gathering water. The sites also have a small wooden table and a bike stand attachment on the backside. Lastly, each can spot has a solo stove for a small campfire at each site. Since we have only stayed in the winter, the bike wash and dish wash stations were closed. As was the outdoor shower. The bathrooms were impeccably clean and warm. There are plenty of outlets to charge your devices or batteries. This is helpful since the sites don't have power. This site doesn't allow pets, which does help keep things clean and quiet. You can get your fix of other people's dogs on the paved trail though. Also, just down the trail is the Airship Coffee at Coler. It's open 7-5:30 - so hit coffee, pastries, or a beer are just a short stroll or roll away!
