Can't miss Beaver Creek! Love to go for skiing, Oktoberfest, and Birds of Prey in December. This resort has a bit more privacy then Vail. It has numerous places to eat and nice places to stay. You can swing by the base area in summer too for hiking, Mtn biking, and other fun kids things too! Love their Oktoberfest a ton, they put on a heck of an event!

Everyone at Beaver Creek are friendly and helpful! What a fun and fantastic time. Definitely a great winter escape with plenty of snow activities.

This is my 1st time ever to Beaver Creek, Colorado being a native. I didn't realize it was so bougie in a gated community. This city is known for being a ski city but today they were making snow to get the resort started and ready. It was a gorgeous 71° out today being in November, which is a nice day to me. All the hotels and properties were perfectly landscaped and the people were nice. As soon as I get a chance I will be back to stay the weekend.

Awesome weekend skiing at Beaver Creek! Snow was awesome and lines weren't long at all. Can't wait to go a couple more days this season.

Apre at the ritz is a must. McCoy park is great for beginners or anyone looking to flow through beautiful trees.

Amazing skiing I've skied one many places all over but this is without doubt the high end of class accommodations and great mountain skiing. The bus system is all free and gets you to the slopes, quickly comfortably. Expect escalators to move you from the bus to the snow. Food and drinks on the resort is expensive. The town of Avon offers alternatives like Bobs place, to save a couple of bucks.

Have been to BC a couple of times before but always only for a day or two. This time got a much better feel for the mountain after being there for 5 days. Didn't have much fresh snow to start but it snowed all day in midweek, enough to improve the conditions for the next few days on both groomed and ungroomed runs. BC is by far the best Colorado resort I've seen for beginners and intermediates, with an impressive selection of green trails of varying degrees of difficulty. The newly opened McCoy Park, which used to be a Nordic and snowshoe area has the easiest, wide open trails, followed by the area around the Red Buffalo lift, with the best tree skiing, and lastly the area between Bachelor Gulch and Arrow Bahn lifts with some more hilly and slightly steeper greens as well as many fairly standard but interesting blues. Although the ratio of black and double black trail are relatively low, there are still plenty of them here, concentrated in the Grouse Mountain area as well as interspersed in between many of the blues. Due to Covid protocols restaurants on the mountain require vaccination proof to eat indoors (copies - digital or paper - of vax card are accepted). They'll give you a sticker to put on your pass so you won't have to carry the card after showing it the first time. Restaurants also require advance online reservations to eat indoors. However, on sunny days, it's warm enough and much nicer to just sit outside anyway. One other thing, not necessarily just due to Covid - they no longer offer mountain tours nor give out paper trail maps anymore. Of course you can get the map online but it's much less convenient. So if you have an old paper map don't throw it out - most of the info are he same except for details in McCoy park since it's new. You might also check with the ski patrol staff who might still have some old paper maps around.

The trees are my happy place. I just finished 3 days at Vail, and though I prefer that resort's tree runs, I enjoyed the steep terrain and wildlife. Huge shoutout to the simple bus system here. The naming convention makes it easy to know how to shuttle up and back down. The facilities were nicer than Vail, and if you're looking to chill in the village while your friends ski, this isn't a bad spot. Recomend, wish I had more time to adventure here!

I really liked the skiing here. The mountain is huge. One note it is $$$$. Parking in elk lot and taking the bus up can help you save some bucks. Elks and bucks ... noticing a trend here? Trails here are wide and offer room to breathe and get your ski legs back. Tons of moguls here. I did find the food crazy over priced (moreso than usual) and not that great of quality. I noticed a lot of families here. Maybe just because it was Saturday. So happy to be skiing out west. What a great way to get back into it.

Beaver Creek is a high end mountain resort town for the whole family to love. From Denver, CO head about 2 hours west on I-70 and you are there. At an elevation of about 8000ft, be ready for all the benefits of the Rocky Mountain wilderness with high end creature comforts of the surrounding community. Only downside might be once you are out here there is not much else around except other resort towns within 30 minutes (Vail, Copper Mtn). Probably known most as a ski resort, the mountain offers 24 ski lifts and 150 ski trails with over 1800 acres of skiable area. Pro tip: after a long day of skiing, you can find the staff handing out free fresh baked cookies at the base of the mountain! If skiing is not your thing, you will find other activities such as dining, shopping and the spa. They have fire pits all over the place to enjoy. I imagine hiking is great in the summer but I haven't visited in the summer. There are lots of options for lodging at Beaver Creek. Hotel, condos, houses; whatever suits your needs, you are bound to find. Overall, this is a great destination to enjoy with family and friends!

Great snow, but very nasty employees, especially the parking staff. They really need to improve their customer service. It stinks.

Best of all, it is FREE to see! To find the Trollstigen Trail trailhead go to the southeast corner of the Stephen C. West Ice Arena parking lot, next to Illinois Creek Trailhead. If you are near the trains, go to the opposite end of the parking lot. Isak Heartstone 1 was co-commissioned for an exhibit for the Breckenridge International Festival of Arts in 2018, but it was dismantled in February 2019 because it was too popular and then reinstalled here . Although I didn't see it in person, only online, I think the original sculpture was better and more playful. Isak is carefully stacking rocks like he's balancing rocks. As per Dambo's website, this troll got its' name after three little girls came by and gave Isak a stone heart. Dambo has a heart-shaped stone placed in Isak's chest. The Isak Heartstone Troll at THIS location is the second one. Some people reference this one as Isak Heartstone 2. He sits at approximately 15 feet tall. Thomas Dambo is the creator of this and many other trolls. He uses reclaimed wood and other recycled materials. Isak is pretty cool to see in person! He's sitting on an incline between trees. He's got his right hand holding the tree trunk. His left hand is balancing him as he's sitting. The bottom of his left foot is resting against a rock. I love all the details... like his fingernails & toenails, and small branches for hairs. The trail is an easy walk through a forested area. This pathway is stable to walk on. The return trail is different from the one leading in. It consists of wood boards, similar to a deck and includes a 6-inch-high step. This troll was created by Thomas Dambo, a Danish sculpture artist. There are over one hundred Dambo trolls in the U.S.A. and many more around the world. Isak Heartstone is Troll numbered 043. Isak is the first Dambo Troll we've seen in person! We went to see Rita The Rock Planter eight days later! I guess we're officially Troll Hunters now! *If you live in the Los Angeles, CA area or are planning to visit, there will be a temporary exhibit of 12 Thomas Dambo's Trolls at the South Coast Botanic Garden in March 2026.
