If you want a touch of WeHo in your clubbing, this is probably the place to do it. I can't think of another bar in the Castro that has undulating go-go boys and a cabaret-singing drag queen. Now I'm not the type that writhes on the dance floor after dark. My love handles get in the way. I don't think I have the mojo to writhe anyway. I'm more of the late afternoon/early evening kind of tippler. During that hour, there was a much easier vibe with a bit older crowd (...that would include me). Dee, the singing drag queen, was here performing eighties favorites on the keyboard with genuine panache. What helped immeasurably was the presence of my favorite bartender in the Castro, Jonathan, whom I met first at the far more mellow Last Call Bar. Frankly all the bartenders at Beaux are friendly and usually quite busy, but Jonathan is a standout, an expert mixologist who always makes everyone feel welcome without going overboard. Tequila Sunrises were $8.50 (photo: https://yelp.to/tFO5OswyP_), and like several bars in the 'hood, they have a 2-4-1 Happy Hour which is hard to resist as Dee segues into a Pointer Sisters medley. DRINKS - 4 stars...potent with the 2-4-1 deal irresistible AMBIANCE - 5 stars...the closest you'll get to WeHo in the Castro SERVICE - 5 stars...it's all about the staff here TOTAL - 5 stars...what's wrong with an undulating go-go boy every now and then? This bar is a ghost town full of desperate go-go dancers. Go to Badlands or The Mix for a great night and an even better crowd

Always a hastle to get in and overpriced to even get in the door ($15 at 9:30pm). On top of the expensive enterance fee, the club is constantly dead. This is the line to get in at 11pm. I finally was gonna go in and just get over the expensive enterance fee but, of course in light of making it a hastle to even get into this dodgy nightclub, they randomly only took cash. Dont waste time here, super expensive, sketchy and never a reliable club to depend on to have a good time. Go to Badlands or The Mix instead. The 3rd picture shows how lively The Mix is Vs Beaux.

Beaux continues to be the IT place in S.F. You'll find yourself having an amazing time any day of the week! Drinks and music are a HIT! The performers are talented, and the staff are incredible. They go above and beyond & I am appreciative there's this gem. My favorite club in S.F! Catch me at the next Big Top event and more!

Must visit in the Castro!! I've been to Sunday brunch, Monday karaoke, and throughout the week I always have a good time at beaux. Their bartenders give the best service. On a nice summers day their patio is my fav place ‍ great ambiance amazing ppl

Do you folks have bartenders who put drugs in peoples drinks?

Absolutely not. Our bartenders are fully trained in alcohol beverage service and certified.

Is this club strictly 21+? Want to go to the Lexi Live event :')))) I'm 20!!

Our venue is 21+ with ID only.

Will there be cover fee for tonight, for the finale of season 14 rupaul?

Not for Drag Race. Cover starts at 9:30.

How do reservations work for drag brunch? I got a text automatically -- does that mean I'm all set or is that an auto reply.

If you get a text that means your table is confirmed.

Is outdoor seating available for drag brunch shows?

The Drag Shows are all indoor seating. There is outdoor seating available, just not near the show.

    Do you have brunch specials?

We have Drag Brunch every Saturday & Sunday at 1pm & 3pm. The menu is provided by Taco Boys. There are many drink specials to choose from.

I have a question, there are private rooms so you can be in private with the strippers?

Beaux is currently closed due to covid. During normal times they do not have private rooms. But you can rent out the whole club during normal times.

Can go go men do dances to gay men?

Yes. It's a gay bar. But currently depending on COVID restrictions they will be closed or only allowing drinks outside with no go go dancers.

Is this club 21 and up?

    Yes 21+ with ID.

What is the cover charge for Saturday nights after 10pm?

    $5 - $7 usually, unless it’s a special event.

Ube Cheesecake ($19) Wonderful dessert cocktail to finish the night. We didn't have time to try the Escape Room connected to the Speakeasy, but we'll be back! There are two rooms, one in the front with a puzzle theme, and another in the back with a Middle Earth (Lord of the Rings) vibe. Staff was friendly and took time to explain the clever menu to us!

Lore's Wonderland escape room was a fun and delightfully whimsical experience. **This review is…read moremainly for the escape room, as we did not order any additional drinks outside of the escape room.** THE SPACE // Lore Speakeasy and Escape Room has cool themed decor everywhere, from the dimly-lit speakeasy/bar room in front, to the Middle Earth/Lord of the Rings-themed board game room, to the individual bathrooms, and of course the escape room's multiple Alice in Wonderland-themed rooms. Clearly a lot of effort went into building these rooms and evoking a certain vibe for each. THE ESCAPE ROOM // The puzzles in the escape room varied in difficulty - some required us to think a bit more, some required our observational skills to work harder, and others required a light level of physical skill/movement. We were perplexed a few times but never got stuck for too long, as the White Rabbit (played by Phoenix, the live actor/puzzle master) would jump in occasionally to provide clues over the speaker or in person. It took us about 1 hr 20 min to finish the entire escape room; I thought the pacing was good. THE [ESCAPE ROOM] DRINKS // Lore's escape room experience comes with "a flight of themed cocktails or mocktails, including "potion"-style drinks that are integrated into the experience as you progress", per the website. We got to choose one cocktail/mocktail option (Korean Cold Noodles) from a list on the website, and the other two drinks are pre-selected to supposedly fit into the Wonderland theme, with the flavors described online as "berry" and "peach". You can get both cocktail and mocktails for your party, in case some people want alcohol and others don't. We all enjoyed the flavor of the Korean Cold Noodles cocktail, which was refreshing and surprisingly a bit minty in the mocktail version. However, we didn't like the two other two pre-selected themed drinks as much. The "berry" drink gave us cherry cough syrup vibes, and the cocktail version of it was quite strong. The "peach" mocktail drink reminded me of canned fruit syrup; we also were missing the two cocktail versions, though we decided not to ask for them as the mocktail version already was less than impressive. One other missed expectation here was the size of the drinks that we received in the escape room. We were expecting full-sized cocktails, like what they serve in the speakeasy in front. Instead, we found out that the drinks are served in small "vials". Given the size of the drinks in the escape room, combined with us not even enjoying two out of the three drinks, I would preferred to go through the escape room without the drinks at all, and likely pay a bit less for the escape room then. OVERALL // I'd still recommend the escape room as a good one-time experience with a date/friends/family. Just don't expect too much from the included themed drinks! The speakeasy drinks on the main menu do sound unique/tasty, so I might come back again to try those sometime.

I politely asked if the restaurant was open, and instead of simply answering the question, he responded that it wasn't a restaurant but a rooftop bar, adding, "I don't know where you got that misconception." I found the comment unnecessarily dismissive and somewhat condescending. As an educated woman visiting with my husband and our minor daughter, I felt there were more professional ways to clarify the venue's concept. Rather than engage further, I chose to ignore the remark. He then pointed us toward the line, despite there being no one else waiting, and pressed the elevator button with an attitude that made us feel like we were inconveniencing him simply by being there. First impressions matter, and unfortunately this interaction left us feeling unwelcome before we even had the opportunity to experience the venue itself.
