I always avoided the Castro i haven't been in a decade. It just wasn't my thing... Ever since discovering Beaux, I have a different perspective! Such an incredible time at the drag brunches they host! Everyone is so nice like... the customer service is impeccable. Like SO nice!!!!! We even brought a very political person from the orange team.., and he had a BLAST!!! Food? GREAT! The nachos are a hit, the burritos are huge, and the drinks are YUMMY! They KnOW how to make a great Michelada. oh! They even have a huge vegetarian option menu! The venue is just so cute! I feel so comfortable just being there and chilling. Plenty of places to sit, and just so clean. I throughly enjoyed my time there (this is my second time) and it's worth it. I'm not really unhappy with the place. Restrooms were extremely clean and well stocked which is always a big A+ in my book. Drinks were okay, spicy ass Bloody Mary. We came for the drag brunch. I think they need to come up with a better food partner than the Mexican place down the block. read more

Coming from Fresno, visited on a Saturday around noon and just so happened to walk into their brunch drag show the energy was high and just very welcoming with lots of talent and laughs as well! Our bartender just so happen to be the owner Joshua and let me tell you he was great with very cool shooter ideas as well, if you're not sure what to order he'll help you out! If you want a touch of WeHo in your clubbing, this is probably the place to do it. I can't think of another bar in the Castro that has undulating go-go boys and a cabaret-singing drag queen. Now I'm not the type that writhes on the dance floor after dark. My love handles get in the way. I don't think I have the mojo to writhe anyway. I'm more of the late afternoon/early evening kind of tippler. During that hour, there was a much easier vibe with a bit older crowd (...that would include me). Dee, the singing drag queen, was here performing eighties favorites on the keyboard with genuine panache. What helped immeasurably was the presence of my favorite bartender in the Castro, Jonathan, whom I met first at the far more mellow Last Call Bar. Frankly all the bartenders at Beaux are friendly and usually quite busy, but Jonathan is a standout, an expert mixologist who always makes everyone feel welcome without going overboard. Always a hastle to get in and overpriced to even get in the door ($15 at 9:30pm). On top of the expensive enterance fee, the club is constantly dead. This is the line to get in at 11pm. I finally was gonna go in and just get over the expensive enterance fee but, of course in light of making it a hastle to even get into this dodgy nightclub, they randomly only took cash. Dont waste time here, super expensive, sketchy and never a reliable club to depend on to have a good time. Go to Badlands or The Mix instead. I just wanted to offer some information since I could not find any in the website: I went to a Rupaul's Drag Race party and there were tickets on sale online. You'd have to pay VIP to get access next to the stage where the host it. I did not pay VIP so there was very limited seating and most of this seating did allow for a view of the stage. Those that wanted to see the entire event had to standup. On that night and for obvious reasons, food services weren't available. read more

Went to Beaux for Sunday Drag Brunch. They don't do bottomless but it doesn't seem like many places do in San Francisco. So we ordered a few bottles between the four people at our table. Been going to the first for almost a decade now, been going since I just turned 21. I don't think I really appreciated it until I traveled to other city's gay bars. It's pretty poppin most nights, and has a wide range of events, from drag race shows, to rupauls drag race watch parties, to club, to brunch. The drinks are really reasonably priced, they even offer seating in most their events. Which I didn't realize how much of a privilege that was given most hetero-bars charge for table service if you want to sit. If you go to Vegas, LA, or even Oakland, they charge so much more for cover, or drinks, that it's surprising given how prime of the location the Beaux is in that they don't charge more. The crowd ranges by year and time, during summers it's quite packed with international tourist to people just outside of the bay, winter it's more locals and a bit empty. Events like pride or Folsom it's insane and you might have to wait a long time, but it's still cheaper than going to an after party event, and even if you wait 1hr, you're always going to be able to get in at a certain point, and honestly beats going home when the night is young. read more

I past but Market St. and saw the sign for drag brunch at Beaux on the weekends. I didn't know they did this and was excited to check it out, so gathered a group of friends to go one weekend. When we got there, we waited in the line to be sat. Meanwhile, the place was not busy at all, but maybe they were setting things up...who knows. We got in and sat down on a couch that was pretty run down. We ordered drinks and food...funny thing is for being labeled a "brunch", the food was brought in with to-go containers from another venue. And was not the best. So I would just stick to the drinks. As the show commenced, it was just a lot of lip syncing. As they perform, they walk around putting their fake boobs in your face and taking your dollar bills. If I can leave zero I would, I came in here with such a high expectation. Just to find the ONE bartender on duty (Qaday) singing his happy butt off for Kareoke. I tell the barback I'll make it easy just give me a white claw and have him charge me one he's done , but no he says he can't, why is the bartender singing when he has over 25 people in the bar? Beaux is fantastic place to dance and grab a cocktail. The music is fantastic and they have atmosphere dancers that really set the tone for the night. I have been on Thursday night which was a blast and a Saturday night that is also a blast. I have been to the other themed nights but one of these days I am sure I will make it. You only get one chance to make a good first impression. I hadn't been out to a club in five years - literally. First vacation in five years and I stopped a t four clubs in the vicinity of yours. I went to the DJ, tipped her as I was asking for a couple of songs. Shde said she would see what she had. I did this four times averaging $1.50/tip per request. I missed teo of my four songs but that was on me for going outside to find something to eat. I went to the booth and asked for the status of what I requested. A quite sure of himself ass from the danc efloor walked over and said, "Do you DJ for a living?" Mistakenly thinking I was talking to someone of adult intelligence and competence, I responded by saying, "No, I do not, but I had tipped her for every request." Receiving the response he had hoped for, he responded, "well, don't tell her how to do hers." He was quite peacock plumed at this point. I waited for someone on your staff to say anything and heard nothing. I left your club having sufficiently been addressed by a person with no skin in the game taking it upon themselves to make sure that someone who had been compensated for four requests was thoroughly and utterly protected from my invasive inquiries to their professional integrity. I walked outside and was asked by a black gentlemen if I had a good time - I explained that I had until the above occurred. He looked at the sidewalk in response - LITERALLY looked at the sidewalk. I had forgotten something at coat check and returned inside. Upon leaving, a tall Caucasian guy asked me about my experience and I recounted what I ad said to the back gentleman, adding the black security guard's forlorn stare to the sidewalk being the initial response. The young caucasian gentleman (not Missy) apologized profusely and asked me to not judge the club on this one instance of behavior. I responded by saying that I had given multiple people including the black security guard a chance to respond by remaining discreet and mature. I left and now that I have the phone numbers of the patrons I met, should they want to get together again, we can discuss the prospect of establishments to revisit together.
