I found a beautiful flow-y long dress that I wanted to purchase for a Father's Day dinner in a few weeks that fit like a dream. I tried it on inside and easily made the choice bc there were only two left. This store has tons of cute items like shorts, t-shirts, sweaters, jeans, dresses, tanks, tops, shoes, jewelry, stickers, even cups and hats. They even had a super small sale section in an upstairs annex as well as a rack out on the sidewalk with items discounted. The following day - before we went for a hike and headed out of town - my friend and I walked by on our way to coffee and I saw the dress I had purchased not more than 24 hours before discounted by 20%. I grabbed it and took it inside and asked the gal behind the counter if I could get a price match since I had just bought the exact dress. She said when they have two items or less they do that... they had two when I bought mine. She said she'd have to ask the manager/owner and I said, "Please do". Fortunately, she was right around the corner and she came over and easily said, "Of course I'll do that" and they refunded me $25. She was so nice. She said she totally understood and she was going to wear the same dress to a wedding that weekend. So friendly, and such an easy thing to do. Highly recommend. I went into a few of the other shops while here and no one was as easygoing and friendly as this shop.

It reminded me of the white mushroom house in Super Mario Bros 3, when you walk in and Toadstool says, "You've found my shop of strange and wonderful things!" When you walk in, you are met with lots of things like antique desks, trunks, and globes. The prices are surprisingly reasonable; if I had the room I would have purchased a desk for my daughter ($14!) when you walk out of the window display area, you are met with a variety of different items, everything from old books to upcycled clothing; antique glass paperweights; blown glass and children's tea sets from times long past. Pretty much everything was secondhand except for maybe the handmade greeting cards. I plan on clearing out my trunk for my next trip to Delta just so that I can make a stop here and purchase a few things. It is totally worth a look, even if you don't plan to purchase anything.

I love the fact that they put out one size of each item and not cram so many clothes together that it feels overwhelming and exhausting. I left with some cute things. My husband was with me and he was happy because they had chairs he could sit in while I shopped. All boutiques should do that. While their main shop is based in the mountains of Colorado, they have outlets across the country at a number of renaissance festivals, including the Maryland Renaissance Festival. I've been eying their cloaks for some time - and finally bought one a few years ago from their booth at the Maryland Renaissance Festival. They did not have what I wanted on hand - so I placed an order for a custom full length wool cloak with yoke - in green and black. I bought the cloak about four years ago - but the cloak is so warm - I've never had an opportunity to wear it to a renaissance festival as unless it is really cold out, I'd sweat wearing it. Well this past weekend was positively wet - and very, very cold and windy at the Maryland Renaissance Festival. And my Half Moon cloak finally got to make it's debut - and was it ever warm and comfortable - and is a really sharp looking cloak!
