I have a wedding to attend soon so I scheduled my annual touch up with Joy. I also decided to get my eyelash extensions done and I'm so glad I did! They look so natural and feel so light it doesn't feel like I have anything artificial there! The annual touch up didnt hurt at all - as expected since she applied numbing cream while she was doing my lashes. I hope the dark color lasts long because I really love how they are right now. Joy has magical hands! I really think of putting makeup on as a chore. I've been coming to her for years now, 5 years to be exact! I wouldn't go anywhere else! After the application is done and you get up and look at yourself in the mirror... that first flutter of your lashes... game over. ***********REVIEW NUMBER 700!!*********** I almost don't want to review this bc I want to keep Joy all to myself but I just have to let the Yelp world know about this brow guru! I've been wanting to get my brows microbladed for a while. I did some research and stumbled upon Joy's work on Instagram (of course). I loved her before/after work and I loved how detailed she was when I reached out for an appointment. For starters, I don't have full thick brows, but I also don't NOT have any brow hair, either! I just really wanted to 1) have an expert help shape my brows for my face, 2) not have to work on them daily and 3) save from my monthly Anastasia brow product purchases! Two days before I went in, I stopped consuming alcohol, using Tylenol, and working out. These are all things that could spread the ink after the tattoo is done! I stopped by Joy's cute little shop and she spent SO much time making sure I was happy with the shape. The overall appointment takes 1.5 hours and nearly an hour of that was numbing cream + brow shaping. Joy is truly an expert. She noted that one side of my forehead is slightly arched due to my face muscles and she drew my brow shape to accommodate it. Such a professional! The numbing gel served its purpose and I barely felt anything during the procedure except some scrapping noises (you'll get used to it!). Immediately after my first appt, my brows looked BOMB. I was super happy with the shape and thickness. The day immediately after, they turned super dark (which is normal), and over the course of the next 1.5 weeks or so, they started peeling off. Between my first and second appt, I definitely lost a little color but the second touch-up appt is where the shape is truly refined and set. I get compliments on my brows constantly! They have made getting ready in the mornings an absolute breeze and between these and my occasional lash extensions, I literally don't have to wear any makeup! They have been the best investment I've made in myself. I have Joy to thank for this! She's the best and I'll be back in Dec for my yearly touch-up! read more

The first time I got my eyelashes done, I had to choose what style I wanted and of course I had no idea. There was no consultation as to what lash style would look best for my eyes and face. Additionally, after about a week, I had these small little bumps forming around my waterline and the lashes were irritating my eyes. Recently, my cousin brought me to Joy and I loved my experience with her. She took a look at my lashes and told me that since my lashes point down, I needed curved ones. I told her that I wanted a more natural look and she began to place the lashes. Joy is very gentle; I barely felt her hands or the lashes. I even almost passed out! It's been almost 2 weeks (1 week and 4 days to be exact) since I got my eyelashes done and they still look pretty great! A few lashes have fallen out as expected but it doesn't look bad at all, I'm still getting lots of compliments and don't even feel like I need to get a fill yet since it still looks good. Went to Joy for eyebrow microfeathering. A friend recommended her and I like her results. Joy did a great job! I am so pleased. I previously had tattooed brows. They are now old and faded. They were not done well to begin with. The shape was not the same on both sides. So, Joy had the added issues of covering the faded areas, while trying to make the same shape on both sides.
