It has long been stables and was used as an annex for storage and various groups that used it over the many years including the Kirk Players Theatre Group for storage and the Scouts. It was also used as a men's club where they would play skittles and also a rehearsing space for local bands. In time it became known as the old Men's Club and up until it's transformation it housed the local model railway club. I still cannot believe the difference since the lovely ladies and sisters, Emma and Lynn, got their hands on the building. It is absolutely beautiful. The smell of the old club has disappeared and it's so light and airy. I'm still in awe every time I visit. I really enjoy going even more, especially as they are a lot closer to where I stay as well. Super handy! Yay! I have had make up and hair done, one for a friend's 40th birthday party. They did a fantastic job. I also had my hair, nails and my first ever spray tan done for a friend's wedding. They have a separate room for the spray tans and it was perfect for changing and completing the tan. I also love now getting gel nails instead of a file and polish as they last a lot longer and they do such a great job. I have had both sisters work on my nails and hair so I have no favourite as they both equally good at what they do. They also have opened up their wedding business Ederra Bridal Studio on the other half of the building. So, when you enter the building the reception is as soon as you walk in the door and the Complexions Salon is on your right and the Ederra Bridal Studio is on your left. They have made fantastic use of the space and their level of service just gets better. I highly recommend going but I advice to book as soon as you can as appointments go fast as they are so popular.

I'd never had nails done before and found Gillian so helpful in explaining the different options…read more Gillian was extremely friendly and chatty through (I wasn't too sure about how stressful the small talk might be) but she put me entirely at ease from the start. Her sister made me a cup of tea and her doggy slept at my feet! A very homely atmosphere and I felt I'd made a new friend! Most importantly, the nails were really beautiful - she took two hours to do them and was very much the perfectionist. If I wanted nails done again I would certainly choose Gillian and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to you. A first class job!

The lady spent about an hour on my nails, but she didn't clean my cuticles properly. I asked her to make them look clean, but she barely touched them. She applied two layers of clear base and then two layers of a nude milky shade -- which looked nothing like what I had asked for. The result: bulky gel around the cuticles, uneven application, and one nail that wasn't even shaped round. When I pointed out that one nail looked off, she said, "Your finger isn't even." Her command of English was poor, which made it hard to explain what I wanted. I skipped pedicure cause I expected it will be a disaster. Since I had to rush to another appointment, I left but later called back to complain. I explained that I was unhappy with the result and that this wasn't BIAB. The man I spoke to told me to come back so they could redo it. When I returned, I explained again that the nails were bulky, uneven, and nothing like what I had asked for. They didn't seem to understand me, and he said, "She did a good job. I can remove it if you like, but we don't do BIAB color." I was shocked -- why didn't they tell me that in the morning before taking the booking? In the end, he removed the top layer, told me to wash my hands, gave me back my money, and left me with cracked, unfinished layers still on my nails. They weren't cleaned, smooth, or wearable. Overall: a complete waste of time, unprofessional, misleading, and the worst nail experience I've ever had.

I thought I was getting a bargain until I seen the state of the job afterwards. A girl was going my nails on Sunday who looked about 13 on work experience from school. I'll let the picture show the job. I asked to get brows done too. Waxed and plucked. I had to ask her to take more off from above my left as they were both different sizes. My advise is. Pay the extra and go to a place with proper professionals. Look at the 2 pictures. Yes, as you will see. The cuticles are cut very messy.

When confronted about this he failed to see he had done a bad job, boy clearly is not a qualified hairdresser. Wouldnt be surprised if he was only in his first year of college!
