11/14/22 Back on 8/29/22 my wife and I took a trip to Lakeforest Mall. The mall had become a dead mall, but one of the stores that still survived is Beautiful U. At the time we walked by, i saw a woman leaning back in a chair looking very bored. I did not have time to stop by and inquire about the place, but i did see massage a d waxing were options at the store. Weeks later i called the store to set up an appointment for waxing and massage only to be let down with the bad news. I was informed by the woman on the phone that massage isn't offered at this location. Okay, why the hell is it shown on your door that it is offered? I asked about the waxing and was informed waxing is done for women and women only. Wow, what a buzz kill. Guess there is nothing left that I would need at this location. read more

I was unable to located their kiosk, so made my way to their store on the first floor (near JCP) as my eyebrows were in desperate need of threading. There was no other customers in the store, so I got seated right away. The lady who threaded my brows had an odd way of threading. There were a few times where I could feel her almost grabbing my eyelashes (thank goodness she didn't!) and shook her hands up/down after every time she pulled my eyebrow hair out. The experience was weird, as she often brushed against my face. She did manage to clean up my brows nicely, though. She also managed to keep the same shape, which is always a plus. $10 to get your brows threaded. They accept CCs, but no AMEX. read more

I was in desperate need of taming my brows, and I happened across this store. Figuring my existing brow shape was still pretty well defined by my preferred eyebrow tamer- I thought I would be ok going here to an unknown. I have never had anyone thread my eyebrows that quickly. And when I looked in the mirror- I was not impressed. My brows basically look like 2 thin rainbows now... THIS WAS THE ABSOLUTE WORST EYEBROW EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! The technician was threading extremely slow like she had just learned to thread earlier that day. I looked in the mirror and of course it wasn't what I wanted. She insisted on trying to fix them so I gave her another chance. This time I could feel my eyebrows getting messed up. When I looked in the mirror, she had taken off WAY too much from one eyebrow. She gave me a fresh bald spot at the beginning of my eyebrow in the middle of the hair that has never been touched and had the nerve to say that I did that to myself when the hair had clearly just been removed. She said she would fix everything but, if I would've let her continue, I would've had no eyebrows by the end. I had been growing my eyebrows out for 2 months and the only reason I went to this place was because I had last minute plans and my regular eyebrow lady was unavailable. WORST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE. I am disappointed in how my eyebrows were threaded. I'm especially upset because of I told the lady just to clean up the edges and she ended up making my eyebrows thinner. You don't mess with eyebrows like that. You just don't. Now I have to wait for them to grow out so I can go to my regular place that doesn't make my eyebrows look thin. Well, at least my eyebrows are finally as equal as they'll probably ever going to be again. A word of caution - if you're not good with pain and/or stinging sensations, eyebrow threading is not I repeat IS NOT for you. My face was smarting for a solid 15-20 minutes after I was done. The woman who did my brows (I never got her name) was nice enough, though she didn't quite listen to what I wanted. I don't like thin brows for myself, and holy hell are they thin! To be fair though, I did ask her to make them as equal as possible. But they're still thin and it makes me kinda upset honestly. Nonetheless, service wasn't too bad. Everytime I come to this place, I have the best experience getting my eyebrows threaded. Now let's make this clear, there is only ONE person who can do them well. Her name is Rashmi (I'm not sure if I spelled that correctly), and she is awesome! I will warn you, do not go to anyone else. During one visit, I let the other young lady thread my eyebrows. My rationale was, "Hey, Rashmi does a great job, she should be somehwere near that level if she works here." WRONG! If you are rushing, please wait for Rashmi, or else you might leave crying. I'm not kidding. The five stars are not so much for Beautiful U, but for Rashmi. So my point is, ask for Rashmi! She never disappoints (me)! read more

I've gone here twice and have had 2 different people and they both have done an amazing job! The first time I went was right before my wedding and was super nervous because I had never gone and the lady that did my eyebrows did such a good job I was so glad I went. I went the 2nd time and had a different lady and I explained to her what I wanted and she did just that. I wish I knew their names but I'm the worst at remembering names. I would def recommend. The only thing was that the 2nd time I went the system was down so I had to go get cash out but luckily it's in a mall so it's convenient haha! read more

It's only $10 for threading and I always throw in a $1 tip. I hear really good things about Rashmi but the two times I've gone I had another lady do the job because Rashmi is not there on Tuesdays. I'd say it was pretty decent threading job. I've had better but I didn't want to go down all the way to Friendship Heights for my usual. The tech did a horrible job. She went super slow and I could feel her messing up my eyebrows. She took off way too much on one side. And didn't even clean them up all the way. I should have done a better job checking in the mirror when she showed me. She spent all that time on what? I have scratches under my eyebrow from her threading. Worst service by far. When I tell you Jayshree got my face all the way together!!!! Yassss!!! Seriously, I came in with extremely dry skin and she gave me the best facial ever! She was extremely informative about how I need to take care of my skin in between facials and she offered some great products! Now don't get me wrong she was not a product pusher at all, But she really was the most sweetest informative great skin having esthetician! Yes, I was totally in tears during the extraction but that after results was so freaking worth it and I would do it again and again to get these results on my nose and chin. DON'T GO TO BEAUTIFUL U for treading or possibly any other service!!! I went for eyebrow treading which I have had done before, the technician over did my left eyebrow & left me looking patching on my left side!! She then said," I forgot to tell you your eyebrows are thin and that's how they ended up looking." FYI I HAVE HAD THEM DONE BEFORE BY OTHER BUSINESSES AND NEVER HAVE THEY SCREWED THEM UP OR SAID MY EYEBROWS WERE TOO THIN!!!!! I asked for a refund and it took over 30 minutes to get "authorization" and just so you all know it hasn't posted as a credit on my bank account yet! I'll be filing a claim tomorrow. read more

Took two stars off because, once when Iffath wasn't around and since I was in a rush, I got my eyebrows done by another beautician(Jayashree). She totally messed it and even left a gap. This review's for Usha! I used to go kind of regularly, but haven't been in the last year. The second I walk in she recognizes me and immediately has a big smile on her face greeting me and exclaiming how we haven't seen each other in a while. I've gotten lash extensions and eyebrow threading done by her and she's really great. She's gentle with the threading, and I have a very low tolerance for pain. She's patient and thorough with the lash extensions. She gives a really natural look and really listens to what you want. read more

Eyebrow wax makes me break out so I switched to threading a few years ago and am so happy with my choice! I have gotten my eyebrows threaded here numerous times over the past few years and am always very happy with the results. I have had them done by many different people and always love the way they look! Their prices are great and they always have plenty of staff, I don't think I've ever waited more than 5 minutes when I walk in. This is where i go to get my eyebrows/facials done. This place specializes in THREADING not waxing. I always break out really bad from waxing so i thought i would try threading out. Let me first say that it is extremely painful and every single time i have gone there my eyes water and it streams down my face. but it is worth it. they thread your eyebrows to give them a very natural look. when you get your eyebrows waxed the people generally don't care about how you look and just ask "thin or thick." At Beautiful U, they thread your eyebrows just cleaning up the areas around your natural curve. I have gotten a facial there one time before my wedding and i will say the girl went way too far up on my cheek where it was totally unnecessary to thread and i ended up breaking out really bad. i remember asking "do u really need to thread my cheek?" she said "everyone has hair there." and i said "do you get that part threaded?" and she said "no." despite that i am a huge fan of this place and recommend that all my friends convert to threading vs waxing. They also do make-up i believe but i have never had it done or seen the results. Also it is only $10 for eyebrow threading and they never ask or expect a tip. there is not even a line on the credit card receipt to but a tip even if you wanted to. Facials are $30 and they also have a card where after like 5 or 6 eyebrow threadings you get the next one free. read more

i went here a few times just to see which girl would do well on my eyebrows and i did not like any of them at all. everytime one of them did it, one eyebrow was too thin, too short, or just not matching. i know when it comes to eyebrows, they're like sisters they aren't suppose to be the same but it was just terrible. I come here frequently. However, yesterday I waited 20 mins to get my eyebrows done( which is fine, therr was a line). What wasnt fine was that some man walked up to the worker and began telling the waitung customers, they had something to do. The shut down the store and walked me to the main shop, where I had to work again. I WAS PISSED. I had something to do as well. If the workers are more comitted to their social life than customer service, they may need to find another job. read more

I have always had my eyebrows threaded without a problem, but the lady who did mine had no idea what she was doing. I asked her not to take off too much hair & she did anyway. Price is reasonable but I guess you get what you pay for. I told her I didn't want my brows thin she said OK. She kept threading more than I thought was necessary and then when I looked at the end they were too thin. I told her and she acted as if she had no idea what I was talking about.
