I went here last week to try their eyebrow threading for $4. I found the salon by chance and wanted to try a place closer than Dee's Salon on Jean Talon where I was going before, and where I've honestly never been satisfied, despite their many top ratings. I frequently had burning and breakouts afterwards and my eyebrows were never shaped for my eyes because the technicians were so rushed. The lady that runs this salon is very friendly, speaks French and English, and is methodical in her threading - as it should be. I have been using threading almost all my life, since it's the cheapest and best way to do your eyebrows back where I'm from in BC, and this was the best experience I've had yet in Montreal. A mark of good threading and shaping is that your eyes look great even without eye makeup, and that's what I got. My brows were contoured perfectly for my eyes, and the beautician actually wanted to work with me to grow my brows out more! That for me is a huge plus, because I have hypothyroidism and occasionally lose eyebrow hairs, so other beauticians have told me it was best to keep them as thin as possible so people don't notice. Now I will have a nice, full shape that I can fill in with pencil as needed. This place is a keeper for sure. read more

I have been going to Beauté Mantra twice a month for about 3 months now. The salon is clean-- absolutely spotless-- and beautifully decorated. The woman who owns the business is bilingual, professional and most of all respectful. She is considerate, treats you like a human being (not like at Dee's where you're treated like a number), and like the previous reviewer, she is actively working on a plan to grow out my eyebrows with me.
