Beauregard Gallery is a treasure in the neighborhood which doubles as its namesake. Originally CC Fish & Oyster Market, this family run operation churns out delicious soups, salads, sandwiches and quiches. I had a half muffaletta, a formidable semi-circle of melted cheese, tangy olive salad and gorgeous cold cuts. They toast theirs, which to me enhances everything. They also have bread bowls swimming with anything from tomato basil to crawfish bisque (their specialty). There's art inside as I'm sure you've figured out, from local artists depicting Louisiana romantically as we all do with vivid color and imagination. They cater and allow for meeting space as well. Popped in here the other day with a friend for lunch. I had The Riverboat sandwich which was a roast beef sandwich with melted provolone and chipotle mayo on white bread. They have a cool toaster that leaves a fleur de lis toast marks on the bread. Cute. I was thrown off by the white bread b/c I felt it was a little plebeian for a $9 sandwich, but it turned out to be a very satisfying bite. The potato salad had one flavor that we couldn't put our buds on...allspice? cinnamon? We couldn't figure it out, but it was a fun game. Other than the mystery spice, I found the pot salad to be a little too vinegary for my tastes, I probably don't like creole mustard enough for this style either. The gentleman behind the counter was very nice and hung for a chat when delivering our food. It was nice to be around friendly people. There was art everywhere too. Not all my style, but it's art. It's never always everyone's style. All in all, I had an enjoyable lunch in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Next time I'll try the quiche or soup (suck it Bruce Feirstein). read more

Adorable little lunch place with really good food. The décor and ambiance are adorable and the service is great. I could go on forever, but here are the highlights... The crawfish bisque comes in a bread bowl. You can get sandwich as a half. Everything is made fresh and some things will take a minute. There are flowers on the table. The parking is on the street. The little old ladies who make the chocolate cake can fix your whole life with a hug. How have I not sold you on this place yet?! Just fantastic! Best crawfish bisque in town! Try and go hungry so you can get a bowl of soup (bisque is my favorite but they are all delicious) and share a sandwhich. My favorite sandwhich is The Gulf (shrimp salad sandwhich) but they are also all fantastic. They just put more time into everything. Turn right after the McDonalds on Gov't on Napoleon and go 2 blocks and take a left. It's on your left right there. Went recently for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised. This place is literally one block down from my home and I am so glad I stumbled across it. It's a house made into a resturant and is filled with colorful and vibrant local art. I ordered the crab cake sandwhich with fries and was very impressed with the texture and flavor of the patty. The customer service was warm and friendly. The staff smiled as if they knew me and made sure I was enjoying my lunch. They have a wide variety of packaged foods to go also. I will be back again whenever I need a brisk walk and a quick tasty bite. read more

I stopped here while on a one-day trip to Baon Rouge for work. I'm so glad I stopped here. It is a quaint and cozy little deli style restaurant and the employees were super-friendly and chatty. I had a very good sandwich (the spicy mustard is really spicy), excellent broccoli cheese soup, and chocolate cake(delicious!) They were doing a steady business but there is plenty of seating and my food was ready in minutes. Highly recommend for a relaxing no fuss lunch and wish I had tried a quiche. read more

We tried Beauregard Bistro and Gallery and I must say the service was really great ! They welcome you and put you at ease from the minute you walk in the door . The decor and feel of the place really makes you want to sit and relax a spell . Had been looking forward to this visit for a minute ! I grew up in the area so I new the building in its former life and I must say they did quite the transformation on this location. Was glad to see offerings not found on other menus. Also familiar offerings with a twist . But alas the food was not the star here, was somewhat disappointed in the taste and the portion size . Tried the crawfish bisque,loved the idea of the bread bowl but did not actually like the bread itself ! The salad my wife had was kind of bland with a dressing that seemed as though taste was an afterthought. Still I enjoyed my trip here and will give them another try ! I've only been here once but was very impressed by the food and the staff. I no longer work downtown but wish I did so I could try more of their items. The potato salad here is made with creole mustard, which I love! I also tried the Captain Beauregard sandwich and wasn't disappointed. The sandwich was piled high with meat and really hit the spot. The staff walked me and my friend through the menu since it was our first time and came to get our opinions half way through. Overall this is a great lunch spot!! read more

I worked downtown for two years before I discovered this place. It is tucked away in Beauregard town. The food is good... especially their corn and crab bisque bread bowl! Sandwiches are toasted with a fleur de lis toaster which makes me smile every time I get a sandwich. The "waitstaff" is a little old man and a little old woman (I have always assumed they are the owners). They do everything from taking the orders to bussing the tables. They will also come over to your table and start chatting with you about anything and everything. I love it here. It reminds me of home in New Orleans. Also, they sell art and the art selection changes monthly. read more
