Our appointment was at 12:00 PM, and it is now after 1:30 PM. We have been waiting for over an hour and a half, and we still have no clear idea when we will be seen. What was most frustrating was the lack of communication from the staff. They checked us in and then left, but nobody came back to explain the delay, give us an update, or even let us know approximately how much longer we would have to wait. With a 3-month-old sick baby, that is extremely frustrating and stressful. I understand that clinics can get busy, but parents deserve basic communication and consideration, especially when they are waiting with a very young baby. I also want to give credit where it is due: Dr. Azra Hashmi has always been excellent with our baby. She is usually on time, caring, attentive, and takes the time to properly listen and care for her patients. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Azra Hashmi based on our experiences with her. My concern today is specifically with the excessive wait time and the staff's lack of communication. I hope the clinic takes this feedback seriously and improves how they handle delays and communicate with parents.

Last year I had to drive to Canton, to one of UM's drive-thru COVID testing sites, which was like an hour's drive, so I was pleased to see that MyHealth Troy (and Birmingham) were listed as acceptable alternates on UM's website, since MyHealth Troy is only a 5-minute drive for me. I called beforehand but they said I did not need an appointment. UM said they faxed the order to them but I also brought a paper copy just in case. This is the first time I've had a COVID test and have not had to go through a drive-thru, not sure if that's super safe but I do prefer that versus a drive-thru. It only took about 5 minutes total and then I was on my way. They were supposed to fax the results to UM, and they did, but a day later ... still a good two days before my procedure so that was fine. I know they also offer the vaccine here, what's funny is that I book vaccines for people as a vaccine angel and I've actually booked a ton of people here, so it was interesting to actually stop by. If you're coming here for urgent care, you'll want to go through the door on the left, but if you're going for the vaccine, follow the signs and go to the door on the right. Plenty of parking right in front of both doors, as well.
