Interesting to speak to the Coast Guard at that station who said that they had to have gas brought to them. Really?? Called around and spoke to Larry at Global Marina. Put the location in the simrad and then cruised through the Louisiana bayous in search of gas. Why the five star review? When we passed the station, Larry actually called us and directed us back. Loved hearing his fish tales. Catching a four and a half pound frog. That's a really big set of frogs legs! Alligators and alligator gar. Huge bass. Redfish. Sad to hear about the hurricanes that continue to pound the Southern Louisiana coastline. Also loved the old time gas meter. Thanks, Larry, for the Louisiana hospitality and stories.

From the boat they looked close (it was 1:30 and covid conditions), but we called and they were open. The outside doesn't look anything like the welcoming inside. We were greeted by the owner, Ms. Addie, and her son, Garth, who works there with her. Ms. Addie at one point sat at our table to talk and was the sweetest lady ever. It was like I was sitting at my grandma's and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The hamburger and onion rings were made to order and very good. We can't wait to go back! This little hole in the wall is a treasure for the area. Also note that you will see a lot of dogs and cats around the restaurant. Ms. Addie is an animal lover and she told us some are hers and that she just won't ever not feed the hungry animals. She (and the restaurant) are a gem that you shouldn't miss out on. The first night I noticed an earwig on the bed but no big deal. Second night came to the cabin and the ROACHES were on everything and even in the fridge!! Immediately messaged the owner and crickets. No response. Not even a sorry about that. Figured he's older maybe he's sleeping but no. Still no response on Sunday morning nor Monday morning. Hundreds of LITTLE ROACHES hiding in the baseboards of the house. DISGUSTING! Figured maybe he didn't know about the situation but his silence speaks louder than my screams when a ROACH touches me!

One thing I know real well is how to approach and welcome a prospective resident; a "Hello may I help you" with a smile is how you approach a person, but instead got a sharp rude "What do you need." Right then with her comment and mannerism I knew this was not where we want to be. We are sad that Good Times will not be our future home but dealing with a rude manager is not a place we want to call home. We never had a chance to try the restaurant which has rave reviews but be choose not to patronize a place management is not welcoming.
