Recently, I requested a quote using the Yelp app from Better Tree Service of Myrtle Beach, SC. The…read moreproposed scope of work was to trim about 20 tall, very overgrown trees on our commercial property including branches against the building and on the rooftop. Robert Ahlborn, owner of Better Tree Service requested a phone call within 30 mins of my Yelp request. In that call, I described the scope work, location of work and requested that Robert stop by the job site to provide me with a quote to 1. trim trees along a paved path leading to the back of a commercial building; 2. trim trees near the back of the store near and around the loading dock; 3. trim the trees along around the building; and 4. trim all branches leaning against the building and off the rooftop. Within a few hours of our telcon, Robert provided copies of his local and county business licenses, photos of the proposed trees to be trimmed, a firm fixed price quote and proof of his insurance. Robert's FFP quote appeared very reasonable but I was waiting for a second quote. The second quote arrived the next day and was substantially higher priced. I award our work to Better Tree Service and Robert agreed to start and finish the proposed scope of work on day 3 (Saturday morning) Robert started and finished the trim trimming job a day sooner (Friday morning). Better Tree Service did an OUTSTANDING job trimming all trees he identified in his FFP quote, plus a couple of other trees. He trimmed enough of the tree branches away from the building and rooftop. Robert's crew removed all tree debris, push the excess dirt off of the paved path leading to the back of the building and completely blew the parking lot of any miscellaneous tree debris. In short, Robert's team did such an outstanding job that we will used him, again shortly!! ThANK YOU, Robert!!

Excellent prompt, quality, efficient, licensed, insured service. Cut down two trees for me…read more Handled everything in a manner that left me worry free, and I so much appreciated that! The price was right, compared to other bids I received. Will definitely be happy to use their services again.

April 5 hired Lewis Brothers Tree Care to trim trees. As they were working we discussed a fence,…read more Alex Lewis said they could do -quoted a price and asked for $500 cash down we agreed. We told him we had to get approval from our HOA April 6 We received approval from our HOA April 7 contacted Lewis Brothers Tree Care and spoke with Austin to let him know the HOA approved the fence. Both Alex and Austin came in their company vehicle. Alex stayed in truck, Austin collected $500 Cash about 3pm April 8 Austin told us they were having difficulty finding fence material. April 11 Austin called to tell us they found the material and the work would begin this week. April 12 Austin called, he was in the area and asked if it would be all right if he could come to begin digging. He worked 2 hrs. Alex showed up, spoke to Austin for 15 min, Alex appeared agitated and angry. They left leaving the digging tool behind. April 13 & 14 Placed numerous calls to both phone numbers - 843.421.3639 and 336.884.2858 Left numerous VMs on both phones, no call back April 15 We placed the digging tool in the garage. We were uneasy leaving the tool at the site where it was left by Austin. This was puzzling, why would he leave a piece of equipment like that he clearly intended to return. April 18 Called again, spoke with Austin who said they would be there in an hour. No one showed. April 19 -20 Placed several calls again to both phone numbers and left numerous messages, all calls went directly to VM - left messages again; no one called back April 21 Spoke with Austin. He apologized, said they would be there first thing in morning, had their truck and trailer impounded. April 22 No one showed, called again left VMs - called several times throughout the day, left VMs April 23 Spoke with Austin, he said they were still trying to get their vehicles out of impound, would be picking it up today. I recall saying, "do they even do that on weekends." He said he did not know but will find out shortly when he calls. He said he would call to schedule the fence work on Monday. April 25 called various times throughout each day, left several VMs April 26 Spoke to Austin, they discovered they needed a business license for Conway and had to get, "all that worked out first" but will be there first thing in the morning. April 27 No one showed and called them again - left VMs April 28 called again and spoke with Alex who couldn't remember who I was. Proceeded to tell me about the truck being impounded. I told him I knew, all about it. They were supposed to call to schedule and never did. He said he did not realize we still wanted him to install the fence. I informed him that he had $500 of our money that was supposed to have gone toward supplies and that his equipment was still in our garage. Suddenly he remembered and told me he had all the material for the fence in his "shop". He needed to stop procrastinating and just do it. He started ranting, was incoherent and made no sense. I told him I was having difficulty understanding him. He then told me he was eating lunch as he was speaking with me. And would call me back when he finished. He never did. April 29 -30 Called both phone numbers and left VMs May 2 Spoke with Austin, he told me he had to discuss the situation with Alex and would call me back in an hour - 3 hours later I called him back to let him know it was more than an hour that had passed. He said Alex told him they would be there first thing in the morning. I reminded him about the equipment in the garage. May 3 No one showed, called numerous times, messages left on both phones. No response or call back. May 4 Spoke with Austin, they were going to be there Friday morning. May 6 No one showed, called again. Left numerous Voicemails with no response or call back May 10 Spoke with Alex this time who told me they would be there Wednesday morning May 11 No one showed, left VMs May 13 spoke with Austin - same thing will be there first thing Monday morning - I told them they could not - we had other stuff going on. It would have to be May 25 and this was their last chance. We scheduled for May 25. May 23 spoke with Alex they would be there May 25 On May 25 No one showed. Called again and this time a different voice answered the phone - this person identified himself as "Patrick" said he was one of the brothers too - Alex had a family emergency May 26 I called again spoke with Austin - I could hear Alex in background agreeing to return he $500 cash to us - Austin said they would bring the money on Friday. May 27 I called again to see if we were still on for the return of the $500 deposit - Austin said yes, they will be there about 6pm May 28 - no one showed I called again and spoke with Austin - they will be there in 2 hours. No one showed and placing numerous calls to both phones going straight to voicemail - Dont get involved with these guys!
