Fantastic bagels as we have come out to Indiana from the East Coast and bagels really can't compare. This is the best I have found out here.

Since I am from New Jersey going to college in Indiana, I am always looking for a bagel that comes anywhere near bagels from New Jersey/New York. When I came along this place while doing a project, I thought I had to go try it since it is advertised as a New York style bagel. When I went to try it, it met the expectations that I wanted when going to get a bagel that other places in Indianapolis have not met. I liked the vibes combined with the steamed bagels I thought it was a great place. It is slightly far from where I live, but I still think it is worth a trip every once in a while. I do like how they also have a food truck, but I feel like it is not advertised as to where it usually is because I have never seen their food truck anywhere. As far as bagels go, it does not get much better than this. It felt like I was at home in New Jersey, hopefully the people of Indianapolis can learn from Bearded Bagels about how to make bagels the right way. read more

I attended the Conner Crossing Freedom Fest and the Bearded Bagel was one of the food trucks that attended the event. The staff was very friendly. They have a solid menu. So, I ordered a bacon egg and cheese bagel. There was a line with about a 15 minute wait. When I received my order, my bagel was hot. As I took a bite, the bagel was semi- hard on the outside and soft on the inside, the bacon was crispy and egg was fully cooked. This is exactly what I ordered! It was so tasty, I ordered a second sandwich. I Highly suggest giving the Bearded Bagel food truck a try, you will not be disappointed! They have definitely earned their five star! I will dine at the Bearded Bagel again! They cater to people with disabilities. read more

This is right next to the 96th Street Sam's Club. I stopped by with my two teenage boys. They love bagels so we wanted to check this place out. The sandwiches were delicious!!! I am back to tell you to get the Hangover Helper with bacon jam. It will, quite literally, be the best thing you've ever eaten. Messy but rewarding. Take advantage of the napkins. Lol We ate in this time and it was so nice to sit at the front bar and watch the world go by. Not too loud, loved hearing the sounds of the kitchen. It was an entirely new set of staff on this trip and the person at the front was very gracious and very passionate about their bacon (as they should be, it's good stuff). Do you ever have those mornings where you just want comfort food, but like, the breakfast kind? THIS is what the Bearded Bagel specializes in. I brought my crew for a pre-soccer meal so I ordered a LOT of food. I will say, it was jumpin in there, standing room only, but it was a Saturday morning and there was an event that week. It was much more laid back when I returned two weeks later, don't judge. They've got all the breakfast faves, on a bagel, and tater tots. I've written entire reviews about my love of tots, so you should know this was exciting. They give you a ginormous portions so share if you've got more than one person, or gorge yourself if you're flying solo. In addition to the tots, we grabbed the Doctor T, the Slammin Sammy, and the Bulldog Breakfast. All were delicious, with gooey cheese and fresh ingredients. The only thing I would change is ordering mine on jalapeño to give it a little kick, I like it spicy! I've been here a few times and today had the Italian bagel. It was a meat lover's spicy delight. Gotta say, my favorite remains the traditional lox on an onion bagel with tomato, onion & capers. My friends suggested I try bearded bagel because they know how much I love my steamed bagel sandwiches! I ordered the sorority girl sandwich but I'm pretty sure the mustard was left off unfortunately, which I think would have added a lot of flavor. But I did like the sandwich overall! Be warned they are very messy! This would not be the type of meal you would want to eat on the go. I typically opt for the lunch type bagel sandwiches but my friend got the sausage egg and cheese and loved it. I will have to come back and try another! I went in this morning and got a delicious Slammin Sammy! It was so fresh and delicious and still very hot by the time I got to my destination. I had driven by many times but today was the day to stop! The service was great and I got a lot of info for our office catering and what all they offer! I've been wanting to try this place and today was the day! Walked in and the man in the front was nice and waited for me to choose. I ordered the Vince Vaughn to go. Kinda worried it wouldn't be as good when I go home to Carmel because of drive. But omg it was delish! The bagel was still hot and cheese was oozing out ! Finally made it here after weeks of seeing pictures and reading great reviews. My breakfast did not disappoint! First of all, the selection here is great, there's truly a bagel for everyone, even veggie options! I chose the sorority sister, and subbed a jalapeño bagel for the plain one it normally comes with. It was absolutely delicious and super filling! They have coffee or other drinks available for purchase also. Just stopped into Bearded Bagel for the first time today (it's located in the strip in front of Sam's Club on 96th st). Easy to pop into and exit Eastbound onto 96th on the way out. I lived in NY for the first 27 years of my life and have had a contentious time finding bagels for the decade+ that I have lived here. Bearded Bagel is easily the best I have had in this city and really delivered a nice surprise. Bagels can be steamed and they offer a nice menu of breakfast sandwiches. Reminded me of Bagel Ripple Deli a little bit in terms of menu but that is a good thing. I ordered an everything bagel steamed with veggie cream cheese and it was excellent. This was the best Breakfast sandwich I've ever had!!! I consider myself a connoisseur of bagels and breakfast I travel for work and have tried many places. This was by far the best sandwich. It was so good I went back the next day to get the exact same thing. I will also make sure my hotel is close to this place so I can get it each time I come back. I've just relocated to Indy from Los Angeles so I decided to try out the bagels at a few locations. Granted my standards are a bit high but So far the customer service at every location I tried seems to be subpar at best. And there always seems to be a disconnect of sorts. The woman at the bearded bagel who took my very simple order messed it up during two different visits. I simply ordered a bagel not toasted with cream cheese and two additional Bagels not cut with nothing on them. The first time I received my bagel with the cream cheese on the side. And the second time with the same order I received three toasted Bagels with cream cheese. She seems to be very overwhelmed even though there was no one else in the store. She also blamed her mistake on the cooks. The selection of Bagels is extremely limited. Where are the Sesame bagels? The cinnamon raisin? The cream cheese is good but the bagels are pretty underwhelming. I think I'll stick with Einstein's and hope that the customer service improves. read more

It was incredible, so delicious! They must stream the bagel, before adding all the other toppings, because it was hot & amazing! I got the biscuits and gravy. while i did like the environmentally friendly packaging the packaging did cause a lot of condensation causing the biscuits to become twice as soggy, then they would have been. They were loaded with egg cheese and bacon on top. The flavor of the gravy and perfect biscuits. Outstanding flavor and a huge portion. My first visit was great. I was greeted with a warm friendly smile from the girl behind the counter. She helped me choose a really good sandwich. I ordered the Hot Rod. Huge sandwich, a little messy, but thats why you have napkins. The sandwich was really good. Could not finish the whole thing at one sitting. The 4 stars are from my next visit. I go in and wait about 5 minutes til the man in the kitchen sees me. He comes out with no smile, no greeting. Just a "what can I get for you". I order a Plain Ol' Perry and modified it to my liking. It was not as good as the other sandwich. It may be due to my modifications. As I wait, another person comes in. He gets greeted. Still no smile. He is asked if he wants tots or chili. I was not aware of their having chili. I would have gotten a cup had I known. I'm feel this man may have been having a bad day. He should try to smile at customers, though. Being a new small businees, a smile goes a long way to keep people coming back. I will probably try this place again to try a different sandwich. read more

Bagels are not made fresh in restaurant as someone stated. I personally saw the bags of bagels sitting on the shelf. Not sure who makes them. They steam their bagels which are good, not great. Service is slow. We ordered one bagel with cream cheese and one breakfast sandwich. No one was there when we walked in. Thought we'd get in and out but about 20 minutes later we finally got our order. To be fair they were working on another order but it wasn't a huge order ( must have been a call ahead order). One had one person making the food and one person taking orders. Might give them another try. read more
