I have been aching for a beard Papa since I moved away from LA and was glad that there's at least one in the state of Washington. If you haven't had it, these are basically cream puffs with a sweet, light creamy filling. It's been awhile since I got to try it and I've been craving it. I feel for that girl who was attending the store because we requested three different flavors of pastry cream and for each one, she had to bend down and pull the appropriate cream press out of a refrigerator near her legs. My bad girl. It was good, but I think they changed the cream recipe because it didn't taste right. It wasn't the same craveable version I'm used to, but I'm not complaining because it was still good. This is located in the food court of the HMart, so give it a try.

I've been here several times, and it's always a great spot for a sweet treat. The staff are always nice, polite, and efficient. I've tried their strawberry bubble tea, mini cream puffs, and cookie eclair with vanilla filling. They've all been really great! The mini cream puffs are my favorite- slightly crispy on the outside with some light powder and the filling inside is not too sweet. It's a delicious dessert, I'll be back!

My friends and I were not far from Lynnwood when one of them said they were craving cream puffs. Off we went to Beard Papa's! I had always heard rave reviews about Beard Papa's but this was my first time going to one of their locations. Their small storefront is inside of the food court area of HMart. Although they are famous for cream puffs, they also offer ice cream and boba tea, so it's a perfect spot to fulfill your sweet tooth. In addition to the original cream puff shell, you can select the Chocolate Eclair or Paris Brest style. As a first-timer, I just got the original shell with their vanilla filling. They also had green tea and chocolate cream options which sounded delicious too. In hindsight, I should have ordered more than one! The standard size cream puff is $4.25 each, but you can get a pack of six that would equate to a lower price per piece. They have mini versions as well if you prefer them to be bite-sized. The employees fill each cream puff by hand and they are made to order. Since the cream is not sitting in the shell for a prolonged period of time, the pastry remains light and airy with crispy edges. It was packed with filling which oozed out when I cut it in half. I liked how it wasn't too sweet, but the flavor of the cream was fairly subtle and not a strong vanilla. It was tasty, but I can't say I was blown away. Next time, I would probably give the green tea one a try. There were just a couple employees behind the counter moving nonstop as they seemed to face a never-ending line. Between scooping ice cream, crafting drinks and filling the cream puffs, they had their hands full, but were still friendly and tended to customers as best as they could. One of the ladies put care into filling my cream puff, then sprinkling it with powdered sugar and gently packing it in one of their cute bags. Overall, I'm glad I finally had the chance to try Beard Papa's. While I wouldn't drive out of my way to come here, if I was a regular shopper at this HMart, I could see myself grabbing a cream puff on the way out. 3.75 stars.

Just Yum!!!! Love coming here when shopping at hmart. The creme puffs are so good and they fill them in front of you. Love that you can mix and match it he shells and the different creme flavors. They also have boba which is decent and ice cream which we have not tried. This is a tiny place without seating. Definitely plan for taking it to go. Or sit in the food court next to it.

Decided to try the cream puffs and Bubble Tea from Beard Papa's. The cream puffs were light and airy. The cream filling was flavorful, but the puffs seemed overly filled. The Taro bubble tea was excellent! Service was ok. There wasn't a line, but we were rushed along. I'll be back.

The owners are so nice! The vanilla cream puffs are my favorites - so full and creamy! The shop is cozy and clean. I would def recommend to start grocery shopping with a sweet dessert from here

The name of this place immediately reminded me of a place back home and sure enough CREME PUFFS It's a small little place outside the market area and your greeted with a display of bundles of creme puffs just waiting for you to devour them And I did I wanted to try them out and I had already stuffed my face for lunch so I tried the 5 piece puff and the lady was nice enough to give us 2 green tea and three of the vanilla. If you love the whole green tea thing the puffs are for you I personally loved the vanilla So they're not super sweet (THANK YOU!) and have a little dusting on top (there's also yummy choco dipped ones) but the crust on this thing... oh yes please each one crunched as u ate it and did I mention they fill them up when u order NO SOGGY PUFFS YAY!! Guys try it, yes it's not upscale bakery stuff more home made but it's still a light treat and you'll love it

This was my first time trying beard papa's and I'm pleased with my experience. The nice lady working explained how it worked, basically you pick your cream puff (they had plain, chocolate covered, cookie, and a donut like one called Paris Brest) then you choose your filling (vanilla, matcha, chocolate, and dulce de leche). I loved the cookie eclair with the chocolate filling.

Interior pretty much has stayed the same, with some addition of merch, and plushies on a front bench by the entrance. Your attention will be drawn to their pastry case. Pro tip: make sure to show up in the morning for better selection for both sweet and savory items. Their pastries are baked fresh onsite, but I've made the mistake of showing up midday and towards closing and their pastry case would be slim pickings. They also have a great variety of beverages available too. Espresso, teas, and milk teas as examples. The mocha has improved, very coffee forward and not cloyingly sweet. Just needs to be hotter temp wise, but that's just me. My favorite go tos has been variable depending on availability, but recent visits have been their ham and cheese croissants. I greatly appreciate the offer to have it warmed up if dining onsite. It's just a strange pairing to place such tasty pastries on a paper plate and then provided flatware, knife & fork or just a fork. I appreciate that this indie bakeshop & cafe has been going strong and steady since 2016, so coming up on a decade! Flying under the radar, but iykyk this is a popular destination. An added star and definitely recommended whether for takeout or enjoyed onsite!

I'm not sure if it's because something changed on the side of the bakery (maybe recipe or personnel changes?) or on my side, having tried more bakeries around the area. On our last visit we bought two loaves of bread to accompany a butter tasting. Both loaves I found to be not nearly as high quality as I remember previously. Pane Bello ($9) - The crust basically doesn't exist in this bread. It's soft and leathery and doesn't give that satisfying crispness of a well baked bread. The interior, while having good crumb structure, is particularly dry and almost crumbly. The taste is mild, perfect for pairing with higher end butters. (3/5) Parmesan Black Pepper Sourdough ($9) - This batard has similar texture as compared to the Pane Bello. It has the addition of plenty of black pepper baked inside, spaced out rather evenly, allowing a peppery bite every time. There's salty and fatty parmesan baked on top, giving a caramelized salty umami. It definitely has more flavor than the Pane Bello, but suffers from the same textural issues. (3/5) We purchased both loaves at 10AM on a Sunday morning and they were consumed within 2.5 hours, so I don't think it's an issue with storage. I ate a bit of their regular foccacia at a work event too. It has a good crispy exterior and is salted well on the top. Unfortunately the interior isn't the best, having a really dense, chewy crumb. I'm honestly not sure what happened. I really loved The Cottage when I first moved here 1.5 years ago. Now? I have a number of bakeries I'd choose over here in a heartbeat.

My mocha was decent, the pain au chocolat was fresh, good flavor and texture, despite being pretty hollow. They have pretty typical Korean bakery fare and pricing seems to be just a bit higher than competitors, probably somewhere around a 10% premium compared to similar family owned bakeries. On my visit I got two pastries to try: Soboro Cream ($3.49) - Instead of a delicately crackly cookie crust, this bun has a much softer, almost moist topping, which may be due to them placing the bread in the packaging before being fully cooled off, allowing the bun to steam too much. There's a bunch of sweetened stabilized cream inside that's sweet and oily. The bread itself is kind of dry and crumbly, either not a typical milk bread recipe or perhaps it had been sitting on the shelf for too long. (2/5) Corn Mochi ($5.99) - This comes with six pieces. The corn mochi has a nice chewy tapioca flour base. There's black sesame sprinkled throughout giving a burst of nutty flavor. I expected to see whole corn kernels baked inside but I think they just use corn flour in the dough. It's way less sweet than the soboro. Texturewise, the inside is bouncy while the outside has a harder baked crust. (4/5) Overall Le Bon Patisserie is a pretty average Asian grocery store-paired bakery. Anyway, two staff members are at the front, though only one was working the register ringing up pastries and taking orders for drinks, etc. After standing in line for a second, I decided to be bold, left the line, and approached the other staff member saying I am picking up a cake order. She asked for order number. Yikes, I do not have that. After some back and forward and I asked if she can look up by my name, she said no. When I repeated two cakes and told her what they were, she said, "Did you say two cakes?" I almost wanted to laugh, since I have said it about ten times by then. My order must have been the only one with two cakes because she suddenly found it and even asked me to verify my name. Magical, they do have my name after all.
