When I called to find out what happened, he claimed the trip was canceled due to rain. When I asked why no one contacted us beforehand, he claimed he didn't have my contact info, hung up, and proceeded to dodge all my calls. He had both my phone number and email on file. Canceling due to weather is one thing, but ghosting a customer, hanging up, and refusing to communicate is unpardonable. A LOT went wrong on our voyage, most of which was weather-related beyond management's control, however I believe that these folks deserve a good review because their reaction to the situation was fair and reasonable; this experience had improvements to be made, but, when given the choice whether or not to screw us over (which the could have done), the team here did us right; thank you!

We got in touch with the guy who's name was being used to run the scam - he's really close with and previously worked with the people that work at the marina. He confirmed that this company had been sold, and it turns out they weren't taking reservations. The marina is also investigating what's going on. Someone is using the guy's name, Adam, to answer the phone and using a google powered online booking system under this company's name to collect the fee and then doesn't show up, disconnects the phone line, etc. We let our bank know, now the original Adam knows, and the marina does too. Original: ITS A SCAM. We called, told to book online so we did. $300 for a private charter later, we showed up 15 minutes early and the marina said they hadn't seen the guy that runs this in over a week - hadn't even seen his truck at the dock at all today. We're alerting our bank, but beware - this isn't a real company listing. Phone number no longer works, it gives a busy signal that we showed to the marina employees who were just as confused as us. We're alerting our bank and flagging this account.

I was able to book a trip for Aug 25 online and did so in June of 25. Trip was for a Tuesday. On my way up the mountain Sunday night the owner texted me saying he had to cancel. He also left a VM saying he was canceling because he cant afford the insurance to operate the business. I asked when I could expect a refund on my CC. No response. I waited until the next day late in the morning, when there was still no response. to contact my CC company to challenge the charge. That afternoon he said he was going to refund me but couldn't. I believe he said he couldn't do it because I challenged the charge. If he was going to give me a refund then why not just respond to my text the day before and let me know that? Anyway, I have tried two years in a row and give up. If you are going to Big Bear don't count on a trip with this company.

Im not quite sure but I do believe they have a fee for parking. I could be wrong. It's the lake so there's little sandy spot where people lay out and fish. Not a wide stretch but pockets here and there. The boat launch area is quite big so it roomy which obviously it's the point. We didn't see any boats being launch but a lot of people getting in and off of kayaks from it. Most people were out having picnics, there's benches situated here and there looking out to the water. The view was beautiful with the mountains and ski slopes in the background. As well as all the lake front properties. Tons of people out and about enjoying the water in jet ski , kayak, some sailing and boat tours. Like mentioned, pockets of beaches here and there with people laying out and fishing. It was a bit windy but still nice out enjoying the view. It's a beautiful place for boating, beaching, fishing and picnics. If it's not busy, you'll get lucky with a spot in the sand.
