I called the prescription in on Wednesday, November 22 and went in to pick it up on November 23rd, but could not because they had locked themselves out of the pharmacy section. The folks there told me I could go to any Rite Aid on the coast and pick up the prescription, so I went to the Rite Aid in Pismo Beach CA on November 26th. They told me that I couldn't pick it up because the prescription had expired on November 23rd. They did not tell me that back home in Tehachapi. As a result of their incompetence, I had to go to a local urgent care center in Pismo Beach to get a new prescription, something that cost me time and my insurance company hundreds of dollars. Needless to say, I will not be using Rite Aid as my pharmacy any more.

I came here for years with no issue until today, when someone I don't know, who claims they are a…read morepharmacist and the manager said I was someone else, confused my doctors, and said she knew my "profile". She said she knew exactly who I was and that I have red hair. I'm blonde. It turns out she is not a pharmacist, despite claiming to be one over and over. I knew she wasn't because she was completely wrong about one of my medications being controlled (it's not). She didn't want to fill one prescription because it was "bundled" with another because it's the same doctor. It wasn't. When I called back to get her license number she hung up repeatedly. I later spoke with the actual pharmacist who insinuated I was lying about her claims and said he didn't have time for it. The manager then not only refused to fill any of my prescriptions but also contacted my doctor about it without my permission. I hate leaving negative feedback for a local business, but impersonating a licensed medical provider is a crime, and the customer service literally couldn't be any worse.

Either this place is completely incompetent or they just truly don't care about the community they…read moreserve. We tried to get some urgent medications filled about an hour before they closed. Instead of helping us the women who answered basically refused, stating they were closing in "a few minutes." We agreed we would pick up next day in which case her response was "this can take 48 hours to authorize." Untrue. I have been in healthcare for 20 years, medication referrals do not take that long. She was so rude, unprofessional and honestly sounded angry and irritated to be talking to anyone in general. If upper management reads this please consider retraining your staff on customer service. Just because this is the only pharmacy up here doesn't disqualify you from treating people respectfully. I will be reporting this to the better business bureau.

The store is small, of course, since it is not a super center. But the store looked clean and not too busy. My mom says she goes to this Walmart often, and she likes it. Well, it's a ghost town with cardboard signs covering large areas of shelving where there is no merchandise. I finally found one red polish of the literal 20 bottles that they had all mixed together by the door. The card was a wash!! She was chatting with the cashier, showing her vacation photos. They both saw when I got in line and carried on. They kept talking and swiping through their phone as if I was invisible. This lasted at least 10 minutes! Another patron arrived and they carried on, the guy that was also in line was giving me "what the heck is going on" looks.
