This is a very colorful and eye catching mural that you will find on the side of Speedway tax…read moreservice. It is overlooking a parking lot which is good and bad. It is good because it makes parking here to get a closer look very easy. It is bad because cars are normally parked in front of the mural, blocking a decent portion of its lower section. The mural was painted in 2022 and is the collaborative work of Andrea Townsend and Chris Nusbaum, who was commissioned to do the piece by the Speedway Arts Council. Nusbaum, a Speedway Arts Council board member, digitally designed the artwork, While Townsend led the painting. You may not be able to tell, by how nice it is, but it is part of a community paint project. Over 250 people assisted with painting the mural. The mural depicts the words "Speedway, Indiana, Since 1926", set against a rainbow spectrum background. You will find a checked flag to the left of the words and a1926Indy Car, to honor the year the town of Speedway was incorporated, to their right. It is a very nice mural with awesome detail and artistic work. You will notice though that the 100 foot wall that the mural was painted on was not in the best shape to start with and not well prepared/preserved. Outside of that, I still like the mural and find it very interesting. I am also a sucker for community paintings. Anyway, as with most murals that I have visited and reviewed, this is not a long stop. I was there less than 5 minutes. So, you may want to consider planning out additional stops at many of the other attractions in the area, or making this stop part of a larger itinerary to maximize your time and trip.

This piece is part of I-70's Corridor Public Art Project, Keep Indianapolis Beautiful. It is the…read morework of then art student Kathryn Armstrong, who fabricated the piece in 2010 when the city was trying to get all pretty for the Super Bowl. It consists 34 pod-like forms of varying sizes and colors and is located off of I-70's exit 77 (Holt Road) . It is spread across the on and off ramps. This work was a collaborative effort between Herron's Center for Art, Design and Public Life, Eli Lilly and Company, and Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. (KIB). The table looking pieces are very colorful and Armstrong intended for them to naturally interact with the green space. The individual structures are made of Concrete and paint, anchored down by heavy duty steel cables. The grass around the pieces is somewhat maintained. I understand they cannot cut it every week, but the grass was high and was in need of a good trim when I was there. You can easily see the piece as you I driving down I-70 in either direction. It welcomes visitors driving from the airport to the city. The pieces are in good repair, but as you can expect with 12 year old painted surfaces, they are starting to lose their luster and fade. They are pretty sturdy. I was able to stand on top of one with no issues at all. If you desire to get a closer look, you could pull off at the exit, park on the shoulder get out and take a closer look. I would just caution you that it is an active road (be it an off ramp) and to be careful crossing the street. I had been by this piece many times and always wondered what it was and today was the day I decided to go in and check it out. This is a nice conversation piece that definitely demands your attention. It is a simple design that many of you may have past on a number of occasions. Anyway, as with most sculptures and art works that I visit, this is not a very long stop. I was there less than 5 minutes. As I mentioned, please be very careful if you do stop. I recommend making this a part of a larger itinerary or visiting here on your way to somewhere else such as the airport.

I am unsure if visitors were very impressed by the effort. It does add a bit of color to the exit and I guess it is something different. The pretty pastel colors of these shapes remind me of Easter eggs. Especially since they are sprawled out in the grass. Like deformed eggs, or those that have been stepped on. I know that sounds bad, but I do like them. And isn't art anything that makes you feel something?

This mural is the work of a collaboration are artist known as Blend Creative Minds (Erica Parker,…read moreRafael Caro, and Lauren Neely). It was created under the Jiffy Lube and Arts Council of Indianapolis's Every Part Matters mural project. The artist got their inspiration for the mural from Brazilian folklore which shares the same name as it title. "Boitatá" is represented by a snake of fire or light, who is said to bring light into a dark world and is a sign of protection and hidden treasures. The piece was painted in 2018, and appears to be in decent shape. It depicts a bright orange flaming snake (boitata) weaving through some bright colors leaves and foliage, set against a deep blue background. The art work is basic but still decent. It is well above my skill level. I like Jiffy Lube's support and commitment to local artist. Their program is a wonderful way top feature this ascending artist. I am glad that they have kept it going for so many years and continue to do so. There are many spots around the mural to park, get out and take a closer look. I just pulled right in front of it. Anyway, as with most murals that I have visited and reviewed, this is not a long stop. I was there less than 5 minutes. So, you may want to consider planning out additional stops at many of the other attractions in the area, or making this stop part of a larger itinerary to maximize your time and trip.

Golden Eagle - The Golden Eagle by Dan Ostermiller (1989)

This is a nice sculpture, especially considering its age. It was made in 1989 by Dan Ostermiller…read more It sits right outside the Eagle Creek Park entrance gate in an open field to the right. It was made in dedication to Samuel Sutphin, an avid birdwatcher and wildlife enthusiast who served two terms as a trustee of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and as director of the National Audubon Society, by his family. It depicts a large bronze eagle soaring through the sky sitting on a sandstone and mortar base. The eagle is 8 feet tall and has its left wing angled downward, touching the base, and the right wing is pointing upward toward the sky. There is a bronze plaque on the base that has the verse of Isaiah 40:31 and a dedication to Sutphin. It also lists the sculptor and date it was made. It is kind of an awkward spot to park at. I just pulled over to the side of the road, to get out and take a closer look. The field that it is in is nice and well maintained, making the walk to the sculpture relatively easy. As with most sculptures that I have visited and reviewed, this is not a very long stop. I was there less than 3 minutes. With that being said, you may want to consider making this stop part of a larger itinerary to maximize your time and trip. Luckily you have a very nice park, where the sculpture is located in front of, to fill part of that itinerary.

For starters the costumer service amped up the bilingual while using the Kiosk. Presentation and communication starts with great understanding of what was shown on ones phone ECT. Which brings me to the rooms plus. Being a Vendor working stadiums across the U.S. I hit a lot of Hotel- Motels and even the so called 5 *'s have there issues. Me myself I love the night crew they have great C.Service and for today's inflatable times $. The price can't be beat also when tennants leave you have no way of monitoring who drops off what roach or bedbug from their last filthy location. All R.Inn can do is combat them and hope for the best also tennants be acting like plumber's breaking in walls and self stripping pipes before calling on maintenance. Last but not least Laxmi the 9pm to 5am eastern standard time customer service is very very professional and every bit worth the business stay even when it's not perfect she puts you at ease with answers to all your questions with no rush. Now that I mentioned it imma go ahead and give this review a 5....
