We brought Riley to this park (the small side) for the first time to meet and make new friends. We opened the gate and were greeted, as expected by other dogs and Riley was immediately attacked by one vicious chihuahua. We immediately turned around to leave and noticed the obvious owner waving with both arms to come back in. I'm not sure what the reason for that was, except maybe for me to apologize for not letting them "play" together. There are rules posted that everyone sees as they enter the park, and among them, aggressive dogs are to be removed immediately. This is one park we won't ever visit again. Be forewarned. read more

This has to be one of the worst kept dog parks I've taken my dog to. (Specifically the large dog side): There's dog poop all over the place (not sure why people don't pick up their own dog's poop there) to the point where you have to be careful stepping off the walking path. There is an irrigation line that has been leaking for over a year now (non-potable recycled water that everyone's dog gets in). The trash cans get emptied probably once a week so all that trash is sitting there fermenting (great smell). Drinking fountain has been clogged for over a year now with no bib for filling up water bowls (no real water solution at all) My dog also seems to get sick every time we go here (again I blame the water/rancid poop everywhere). Honestly don't know how this park doesn't get shut down due to health risks for pets. I won't be going back unless major renovations are made read more

This use to be a nicer park but it doesn't seem to be taken care of. Also there's rarely ever that many bigger dogs there but it's a good park to go to for small dogs. We had the best Sunday visit to this dog park, long overdue!! Parking is close to both entrances, for us that was important because it was cold and we knew our kiddos may have wanted to go back to the car. The park has two entrances, one for big dogs and one for small. There are toys available mud puddles to splash in areas to run and even an area to spray off your dogs when you leave. There are plenty of chairs that have a seat. Everything is very open air. The company that arrived at this dog park was enjoyable. I would absolutely come back to this dog park every single weekend if I have the time. It is clear that there are people who actually do that in a community of dogs so if that's what you're looking for I highly recommend I love that in the best g dog area people are open to having our little dogs around because he has a big dog mentality. Ok so preface- I have 2 dogs- a Maltese poodle who goes into the small dog play area, and also an 80 pound boxer who is all about running around and living his best life. The upside- the parks are big, separated & have a little dog and big dog park. It's CLEAN! Poop bags and garbages. Water areas and plenty of bowls to refill. Also they have a wash station and little agility courses to get the dogs moving. First initial entry way to get the dogs in. Then the entrances are separated to get you into the next park. Also there's seating for the doggy parents in both areas. So I've been here twice now, and both times were totally different. I've been in there with my maltipoo in the small park and it was not busy and AWESOME. The little had an awesome time, like I had to carry him back to the car. Second time SUPER BUSY and not as enjoyable because there were too many dogs taking his toys. So just make sure you go at a time when it's not so congested. Next- the big dog park, it's actually made for all the dogs when it's busy. Be prepared for your new dog to be the main attraction so all the sniffing is going to go down. It does get a little hectic when it is busy, but it's great for socializing you dog and getting out the energy. 4 stars for the busy time and for some of the dog owners not coming to handle their dogs when they get a little too rambunctious. But overall it's clean, nice, and a good spacious place. read more

It's a dog park. This happens to be my personal favorite in the area, It's just a matter of preference. There will always be that guy who NEVER picks up after his dogs. I have found the mornings most people are good about paying attention to their dog and cleaning up after them. The evenings can be a little more rowdy where people don't pay attention to their dogs. I really like that big dogs and small dogs are seperated. However, there have been many times people take their small dog into the big dog park, which can be a problem when a big dog's prey drive kicks in and the little dog takes off running. There are 2 gated in shower stalls for the dogs, there is plenty of access to fresh water for the dogs. The park provides poop bags. The area for the large dog park has a track to walk. There are only a few shady spots in the park. I take my dog and he hasn't complained about this park once. read more

Took my dogs to the dog park for the first time yesterday. It was about 11:30 am on a Friday afternoon. There weren't too many people there. I was super nervous how my dogs were going to act. One dog is 7 and one is 2. They were fine. The dog park was large. Noticed some dog shit in the grass area left by a previous owner and I picked it up for them haha! The obstacle course for the dogs was cute. I see reviews about aggressive dogs and I'm glad we didn't experience anything like that. I hope our next experience is as pleasant as this one was. Bear Dog Park - Fetch !! - Dog Parks Near Me - Roseville, California

Took junior out for the first time to the dog park, decided to try something new for his first birthday. He loved it there! Nice to be able to try and teach him to be more social with other dogs because he's always been the more nervous type (not sure why). Was surprised to see so many dogs this late even after sundown. But probably since it was a weekend, I'm guessing that's why there were so many that late. read more

Sadly the closest dog park to my house but also the worst and here's why: 1. No shade - since it's a new park (about a year old now) there are no mature trees surrounding the area. 2. Lack of seating - it looks pretty bad when people just add their old patio furniture in there. Most dog parks just have a lot of those plastic chairs for seating, this place only has 4 benches in the large dog park area and maybe about three in the small dog park area (not sure since I never go to the small dog area). 3. Bad drainage. There are a few hidden mud pits in the middle of the field so it's always interesting when you see dogs rolling in mud. Even in the summer time, the mud is still there. 4. Poor dog pool placement. Unlike the other dog parks that have their dog pools on top of cement and draining systems, these pools are placed where all the dirt is. Which means that your dog has to get through mud to get to the pool. The pools are NEVER clean, there's always mud in them. When you dump the water out to clean it, there's no where for it to go into except the dirt! It would've been smarter to place the hose and pool behind the water fountain. The C bar C park in Citrus Heights have these great dog pools made of very hard plastic, I'm not sure where they bought those but I think all the dog parks should have it. They're very easy to drain without having to worry about breakage. 5. Not enough buckets of water to place sporadically throughout the park. Instead they have one torn up bucket and about three dirty old bowls that always collect dirt because they're made more for the home. At the CbarCpark they have maybe about 10 buckets of water all through out the park. 6. Dog crap everywhere! This is just an observation but you can always tell who is not going to pick up their dogs poop. It's usually the senior citizens and the people that are too busy chatting it up rather than keeping any eye on their dogs. Good things about the park: 1. The dirt road is now a cemented parking lot. 2. The agility course is great. I was amazed when my dog actually did it a few times last year, yet for some reason I can't get her to do it again. 3. Separate area to hose down your dog before leaving the park. read more

I had to update my review because this place (for me) is just not what it used to be. I recently got a little puppy, who I've nicknamed TRIPLE C: crazy, curious Chloe. My little girl is a little crazy, yes. I mean, she is an APBT. She is ridiculously playful, fast, and energetic. Hence why we go to the dog park with my other two dogs who are more grandpa-ish lately. The crowd is always a hit or miss. There is one group of people I consistently see here, my mom and I call them the "dog park terrorists." They walk around the track, and don't move for anyone else walking too, forcing you to walk in the grass, mud, etc. I've began to gauge when they're there so I go at different times. Anyways, it seems others get so annoyed when dogs go near their dogs or them. Umm hello, why are you at a dog park?? Let's think dogs for a minute. It's completely normal for them to bark at each other, chase each other, pummel over each other, hump each other, etc. but owners start freaking out, making their dogs either afraid or even more excited. Let your dog be a dog!!!! I understand that dogs don't need to be biting the crap out of each other, but people need to understand that sometimes, it's normal. My biggest complaint is that they removed the dog pools. Yep, the drainage sucked. But it still does. Now instead of dogs laying in the nice, wading kiddy pools, they sprawl out in the fresh mud and dirt. They get wet, but now it's a nasty wet. Whoever petitioned those pools are seriously stupid and I don't like you. I still go to the place, but not as often. Sometimes the crowd there is fun and their dogs can keep up with my crazy one and put her in her place if necessary. This is rare lately though and often it's full of overbearing dog owners who should just stay home. read more

Went to the park today (small dog yard) and a group of 10 to 15 people congregated in one area and socialized while their dogs were out of sight. I just don't understand why these people don't understand that they need to watch their dogs and pick up after them! The area is covered with feces and it's so unsanitary. Giardia and other things could be passed on to dogs through feces! Most of these dogs belonging to this group don't play so I don't even know why they come to the park! These people should go to the local coffee place and sit with their dog on a leash. My dog stepped in poop today and it was all over her stomach area and legs - disgusting! I've been tempted to put a sign on the fence - Please - PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR DOG! read more

If I could give this dog park two ratings for small and big I would. My small dog park rating would be a 5! The big side would be a 0! And it's actually not the park, it's the people. I have a medium sized dog who is 28 pounds. So technically, (according to the signs) my dog belongs on the big side. However this isn't enforced and we typically hang out on the small side. Almost Every single time I have gone over to the big dog side (if there's not many at the small side) there has been an a situation where my dog gets attacked. I'm not sure if it's because he's smaller than the other dogs, but many times there has been an issue with a big dog wanting dominance over my dog. My dog is a young excited dog who has energy but doesn't typically show aggression. Today, I went to the big dog side and had the worst experience yet. A man with a red Merle Australian Shepherd was there with his dog. Apparently his dog was in heat? Which doesn't seem like a good idea to take your dog to the dog park during this anyways. My dog sniffed his dog in the typical places and she full on attacked him! She had him on his back and was viciously biting and attacking him. I was the closet one so pulled her off my dog. My dog seemed okay at first. A little shaken up. The man came and his response was "wow she has never done that before, weird" no apology, nothing! He kept his dog there too. So, we went off to the small dog side where I was able to examine my dog closer and noticed he had a gash above his eye! I was going to talk to the man but then saw another situation over on the big side with (you guessed it) HIS dog! She was getting into it with another dog. The dogs owner tried to separate it, and she bit him! I could see the blood from across the dog park. I went to talk to the man to clarify which dog bit him and it was her. He said the man did nothing, except let him know that she had her rabies vaccine. As he was leaving, I confronted him to let him know his dog has actually hurt my dog and bit that man! His response was "dogs will be dogs" HA! He then asked me how much my dog weighed, as to assume that it is my fault for bringing in a medium size dog to that side (even though he is above the weight limit). He would not exchange numbers, took no ownership, nothing! I was dumbfounded. I hope he reads this and knows that I didn't want your dog to get put down or to get you In trouble, I just wanted you to take some freaking ownership of your dog and apologize to me and the man who is currently bleeding all over his hand! Honestly, shocked by this and I know I will never go back to the big dog side. The park itself is nice, but some of the owners are simply put, shitheads! read more

This is the closest dog park to my home. Its a cool place. Pros: 1. You can see the whole dog park so you can keep an eye on your dog 2. Penty of water and poop bags 3. Lots of dogs 4. Seating for owners 4. A track to help you exercise as well Cons: 1. Some owners are busy chit chatting and not paying attention to their dogs 2. Some owners doesn't pick up after their dogs 3. Too many dogs, that it scary sometime 4. Great dog park... I was watching my friends dog for 1 week and decided to check it out since I live in the area so this is my review. Positives 1. Plenty of friendly people to chat with if you are in the mood. 2. Track to walk around for exercise 3. Water Pools for play 4. Water bowls for drinking 5. Plently of bags & trash bins for doggy doo disposal 6. Seperated areas for big & small dogs 7. Very secure fencing and gates to keep the dogs in and seperated 8. Shower off area for your dog before the get into your car if they are muddy. 9. Water Fountai 10. Tennis balls laying around for use Negatives 1. More seating needed 2. More Shade, I guess that will change once the tree's mature. 3. Could use a vending machine for soda/water. 4. Vending machine for doggie treats, but that is just pushing it ;) Owners controlled their dogs, picked up their poop and interviened when needed. I never had or seen a problem. TOTALLY agree with others who have said that the quality of dogs (or should I say OWNERS) is super variable! I am a super low key dog owner, and I don't freak out when other dogs sometimes get a little too feisty, testing the boundaries, and all that whatnot. My dog is pretty submissive but playful, and due to her large size she can hold her own! When it's good, it's really good! Dogs of all sizes and breeds playing, hanging out in the wading pools, and competing to catch the tennis balls-so fun :-) I love the little dogs that can hang with the big dogs! So cute! For the most part, people pick up the poop, so that's good too! My problem is with the owners who bring in aggressive dogs that do not play with other dogs or mind their own business, but attack the other dogs! I am sorry, but when my 76 pound, friendly dog is cowering under the bench that I am sitting on because every time she gets out a dog snaps at her, that is just not ok! Meanwhile, the owners either fully ignore that their dog is out of hand (this is most common), or tries to joke and downplay it as though this is how dogs should behave. Again, I want to state that I am not a crazy overprotective owner, and that there have been times when my dog has gotten little cuts and scrapes due to normal playing and that does not bother me, but when the friendly dogs can't even play and WE have to leave while the other dogs terrorize the park, I think it's pretty lame (especially since dog parks in the area are not plenitful!) My tip is to avoid going at the very end of the day, close to sunset, as it seems that people bring the aggressive dogs when the park is not as busy. read more

This is a great dog park located very centrally in Roseville. The best part of this park is the fact it has separate areas for small and large dogs. It also has plenty of seating to chill out with plenty of shade as well. The volunteers that take are of this park do an awesome job taking of this park and it is always well maintained. The other bonus is there is always nice elderly people to chat with. The park is really close to Sun City so is a favorite of theirs. My wife has made several friends over the past year here and I always like coming here with her to relax with our dogs. read more

Probably the best dog park in roseville. They recently started turning on the lights when the sun sets so that people and dogs can stay a little longer, which is really cool, thanks city of roseville! I've given it 4 stars because There's always room for improvement. For example there used to be these little kiddie pools that were for dogs to cool off in and someone decided to completely destroy them. Which is a sad example of how disrespectful some people can be. Over all however 99% of the people and dogs I have met at this park are awesome. Lastly every quarter the city shuts down the park for a few weeks for maintenance and re-seeding, which means everyone and their dog has to find a new home park for a few weeks. The reason I mention this is because the city is seriously slacking on maintaining all those other parks. Marco park off Douglas never has poop bags The dog park in Saugstad doesn't ever have water bowl OR poop bags. Those factors have caused me to go to the rocklin dog park. Which sucks because they don't have any grass. Just crappy bark and dirt. So the dogs get super dirty and stuff. It's a pain. Dear roseville, good job with bear dog. Every experience I've had here has been absolutely horrific!! I've had people tell me I don't belong at the dog park because they come every day at the same time. Mind you I am a Roseville taxpayer and pay for this park. People don't take responsibility for their dogs. I've had a lab that kept trying to hump my dog which is a male as well and the owner did nothing until I said something to him. It's a really big club of people that clearly have nothing else going for them but their dogs that aren't even well trained. The grass is ripped up in a lot of parts or its mud or just dirt. I've also heard people say they live in antelope or other neighboring cities. There is no order here do not risk taking your dog or your children. It's a complete joke. read more

We arrived late on a Sunday afternoon - part of the parking lot was being used to collect used Christmas trees for recycling, so the air was filled with a mixture of cedar and fresh coffee. Yes, coffee - the parking lot sports a van selling great coffee and doggy treats - but that probably warrants its own review! The park was busy, and all the dogs well behaved. The park has separate areas for dogs over and under 20lbs, although some small dog owners don't seem to understand this. As the owner of one of the several 100lb+ dogs there, I'm sure these small dog owners would be the first to complain about a boisterous big dog being 'over-playful'. The big dog area has a large grassed area (suffering somewhat from the shortage of rain this Winter) and a great area with an assortment of activity equipment, in good repair and well used. There are several covered seating areas for the owners to rest awhile. The area is provided with water, and a paved, drained cooling off area for use in the hot weather. My visit did nothething to dissuade me from my view that you meet some very nice people at dog parks! This is not my regular dog-park, but this was my second visit in five years, and it won't be my last! read more

Nice and big. Best two gated entrance that I've seen. Very roomy. There are "doggy showers" in the entrance that's gated off from the actual grass area which is smart in case your dog heads for the mid and grass after the hose off. There is a mini dog agility course in the far back corner of the large dog side. Wish it was more shaded. There is a late tent a few trees ltl shelter under this park would be near perfect of there were more trees and no small holes that fill with water and mix with dirt to create mud puddles that hot dogs go straight for to roll in. read more

Pleasant people who are friendly and sociable. People are pretty good about keeping their dogs in line. Most seem to be on top of their poop pick up, though it's always best to practice good poop karma and pick up an extra pile while you are there. The seperate section for small dogs is both good and bad. Mostly older folks seem to have the small dogs, so it keeps them out of harms way of the rambunctious bigger dogs. Although today the smaller dog side was closed and it was great to see dogs of all sizes playing. However, some of the seniors were freaking out and getting grumpy about have to be on the bigger dog side. Plenty of parking, nice walking track if you want to do a couple laps. read more

I had a hard time finding the dog park or where to park. You turn into a parking lot where there's an emergency signal (flashing yellow light).. and there's a sign off to the right side of the lot indicating parking for Bear Park is that way.. Bear Park is decent. There are two sides.. under 20 lbs. and over 20 lbs. The under 20 side is small with plenty of seating. A canopy was set up over chairs for shade. The area in the middle is grass with a walking track around it, seating around that. I didn't spend much time there. Our puppy was attacked soon after arriving so I scooped him up and left. The other dog's owner helped tried to separate them and said her dog doesn't usually do that so I'll give her credit for trying. After our visit, I took our pup to another park just to shake off what just happened.. An older lady told me Bear Park has a bad reputation for that happening. So, I have to admit that I have nothing to compare this place to because I have never been to another dog park BUT I thought that this one was great. I have 3 chihuahuas and I had never really thought about taking them to a dog park. I figured that they would be much smaller than the other dogs and that there wouldn't be a spot for them to play without getting trampled by the big guys. After reading the reviews for dog parks in the area, I saw that some of the reviewers had mentioned that Bear Dog Park had a great area for the little doggies to play in. I cruised over on a weekday and was impressed by the size of the yard and that it was maintained but there weren't many doggies that day - it was a pretty cold one. This past weekend, I returned again with my husband and all 3 of our little ones. There were lots of other little guys to play with including, to my surprise, a bunch of chihuahuas! The other owners were so friendly, their dogs were well behaved, and our dogs had a great time. I can't wait to bring them back next week! read more

My dogs love this place. It's great to take them and let them off to run as they please. Early morning is best as it can get really crowed in the later evening. The people who bring their dogs are really nice and friendly. Parking is plentiful and easy access in and out for safety of all dogs. The City of Roseville keeps this place pretty clean and I appreciate the track around the grass for people to walk too. I would say that small dogs should stay on the small dog side. read more

Took my pup who is one here for her first time and it was a great experience. She's under 20 pounds so I went on the small doggy side and it was great. Lots of space and it appeared to be kept and it didn't smell bad! She got along with all the pups that came through the gate and every owner was so nice. Favorite park for my small dog! I've tried others in the area but keeping coming back to Bear Park.

I only gave it 3 stars even though I'm here practically everyday for many reasons: 1) Rumors are true about owners leaving their dog here--- I've witnessed it. 2) Spacious, but not too maintained--- most dog owners don't pick up after their dogs. 3) There's the same people almost all the time that come around the same time and make their circle under the trees--- get too clique-y, therefore their dogs do the same and make their own pack and bullies other dogs, while the owners continue chatting. 4) Many incidents where owners really don't care if their own dog is being aggressive--- they continue texting and act like nothing is happening or they let the other owner stop the fight just so they don't have to walk all the way over to the situation. 5) There's more than a handful of owners who don't understand how dogs play/interact, therefore drama happens. 6) My friend got bit by a dog who was being aggressive to his dog when he was trying to stop the other dog from biting his own dog--- owner of the aggressive dog blames my friend's dog for being aggressive and leaves without an apology--- watch out for a chocolate lab and the owner is around 30s. I come here often because my dog has made regular companions here and this park is the most busy (I want my dog to get as much play as he can with the right dogs though). read more
