We had a large scope (our property is over 7 acres) and spent about half a day walking the property and discussing our thoughts. When we received the design, it was almost perfect! But we knew the design was the "easy" part...the execution of the design was the difficult and more important part of the project. Well, we can hardly find the right words for how smooth the installation happened! The installation Team was absolutely amazing! The Supervisors communicated great during the project but what really exceeded our expectations was the very few questions they had to ask us. That was because the Design was so well documented, the install Team had a near perfect roadmap to make the design come to life. All members of the team were friendly, professional and had a strong desire to satisfy our needs. They also exhibited tremendous respect for our property. They were careful with driving their large trailers and they cleaned up the property EVERY day during the install! That's right! They cleaned up every single day! One of the biggest challenges we've had with other Landscapers was poor planting techniques which resulted in plants dying. This is one of James Landscaping's biggest strengths. They took great care when preparing the beds before planting. They removed about 8-10 inches of soil and replaced with an excellent mix of soil and compost. We know this will result in all the plants developing strong roots for lasting health in our crazy Texas weather. We highly recommend James Landscaping for your landscaping projects especially very large ones. Unfortunately we know the initial and ongoing costs of poor landscaping (especially for large properties). We are VERY fortunate to have used James Landscaping...we wished we would have used them 20 years ago!!

I had a hard time walking on the existing walkway and had to be careful not to trip or fall. As the new walkway was being installed, I noticed the workers using string, levels and tape measures to ensure the walkway would be leveled. I also noted the amount of time they spent to chip away each flagstone so that it beautifully fit together. It made me feel that I was truly getting a custom built walkway. Since completion, I have felt very safe walking on the walkway and never get the sense that I'm walking on flagstones. My yard had several areas where I had a hard time growing plants. They filled in empty areas with native plants. They did an incredible job and I'm very, very pleased.

Hiring this company likely carries significant risk due to lack of integrity, poor quality of work,…read moreand poor professionalism. I hired Alex Jacquiss of Sweet Home Services for a bathroom project and had a very disappointing and disturbing experience marked by poor workmanship, lack of professionalism, lack of integrity, and concerning communication. The bathtub was installed out of level, twice, and I was told multiple times it had been corrected when it clearly had not. Tile was installed around the bathtub without checking the level first or in spite of it knowingly being unlevel. Being misled and deceived about something this fundamental is unacceptable. They also painted using the wrong color and wrong brand, twice, and again were not upfront about the mistake. When confronted, Alex insisted they had used the color and brand that I requested, and again completely disregarded my concerns. In addition, paint and waste was dumped in our front yard, which was both unprofessional and unacceptable. Communication was inconsistent, with poor responsiveness and little accountability when issues were raised by me. When I vocalized concerns about scheduling and communication, they were disregarded or completely ignored. On one occasion, no one showed up at all, and I had to reach out to find out what was going on. Rather than taking accountability, Alex dismissed my concerns that I raised about workmanship and professionalism with excuses and blame. There was a consistent pattern of defensiveness and gaslighting from Alex throughout the entirety of the project. Basic job site care was lacking. The vanity was never properly covered during work, and as a result there was minor damage. They also chipped the new floor tile and baseboards during the process. I ultimately had to hire a new contractor to correct the work, including re-leveling the tub and repairing damage to the vanity, ceiling, baseboards, and walls. This required redoing significant portions of the project for which I already paid Alex. On a personal note, the way the work was handled and how my concerns were addressed felt disrespectful to both me and my home. Overall, this experience reflected a lack of attention to detail, a lack of accountability and integrity, and repeated dishonesty, blame, and gaslighting. I cannot recommend this company, and in my opinion, hiring them for a major project carries significant risk.
