Well, I did my research and this is definitely the campground where this happened. To be clear,…read morethis is the park located at 2479 Riverbend Loop, Unit 1, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863, just off of Henderson Chapel Road. This is the location with the central fishing pond that has the small island in the middle, the decorative 'old-timey' outhouse, and the little cabin where you sign in and they sell merchandise. I was here with my family around Winter 2019-2020. I was on my evening walk and saw a campground worker driving a golf cart up the steep hill. There was a family and their kids watching him drive recklessly. As he went around the bend and came back down, he hit a slope and the whole golf cart flipped over. The cart was headed straight for me; I could have stepped aside and let it crash, but I decided to be a nice person and save the cart from hitting people below. I stopped the cart and parked it. As I walked towards the worker to check if he was ok and see if I could help, his pants fell down, and the nearby family started pointing and laughing at him. The worker was a white male, about 6ft tall, heavyset with a scruffy beard. Later that night, while I was out taking pictures of the fireworks, he and a friend--a tall, skinny white male with long black hair about 6ft 2in--drove their golf carts past me at alarming speeds, flipped me off, and called me the N-word. I was only a freshman in high school at the time and was in a daze at what I had seen. I haven't had a lot of incidents like this so you can imagine my reaction. I called the office to report this, and the woman I spoke to was dismissive and tried to claim they don't have an island in their pond or that I have the wrong park. She even tried to claim I described a 'young man' when I never did--I specifically described a 6ft, heavyset man with a beard at the time that I was tell her this which is funny because he was a young man and thus proving my point that she knows exactly who he is. I know exactly where I was because of the specific layout of the island and the office cabin at this address. If these men are still employed here, they should be terminated. No guest, especially a teenager, should be subjected to racial slurs and harassment by staff.

I called the Hilton Garden In Pigeon Forge, I spoke with a woman at the front desk who told me they had availability. I asked if she needed a deposit to hold my room and she said no. I informed her we would arrive very late and had a 6-7 hour drive. She said she would hold my reservation. Upon arriving the man at the front desk told us the reservation had been "booted" from their system and they gave our room to someone else. So we left. We called several other hotels on the same strip. No availability. The last call brought me to Tonya at Margaritaville. From that night on our stay was amazing. We met Rusty at the front desk who took care of our stay. Tonya Craven who made sure not only we were taken care of, but every guest these two came in contact with were happy and taken care of and made sure we all felt at home!!!! This place is dog friendly. We lovedddddd this! The food at the restaurant was really good and Seth the bar tender down stairs was very personable and made sure our food was on point. The hotel was clean. The room had comfortable beds, cozy towels and was just right. The hotel is decorated beautifully for Christmas. The New Year's party with the live band was fun! The entire staff was friendly and welcoming. If we didn't have to be home for scheduled meetings, we would have extended our stay a few more days!!! Thank you Tonya, Seth, and Rusty for helping our family ring in the new year!

This is a big operation. Lot's of staff, well organized and run, and it offers plenty of amenities. Nestled in the heart of the Smoky Mountains, this resort blends the rugged charm of camping with the laid-back spirit of Margaritaville. We stopped by with a group of 100 RVers for a multi-day rally. This place is big enough to accommodate large groups. RVers will find premium sites designed for comfort and convenience. Spacious pads, full hookups, and stunning mountain views set the tone. And whether you're here for a short weekend or an extended stay, you'll appreciate the outdoor kitchens, fire pits, and modern bathhouses thoughtfully scattered throughout the grounds. But the offerings don't stop at great RV amenities. The resort is bursting with ways to fill your days. Families can splash away at the water park, complete with a lazy river and two-story slide. Meanwhile, the hot tub and private cabanas call to those craving downtime. Hungry? The on-site Fins Bar & Chill serves island-inspired meals you can enjoy with a cocktail by the pool. Or, grab something casual at the coffee shop when you're in a hurry to hit the hiking trails. Speaking of adventures, you're in the ideal spot to explore Pigeon Forge. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is just minutes away, offering countless trails, streams, and scenic overlooks. Or, stick closer to home with a visit to Dollywood or The Island, both just a short trip from the resort. What makes this place truly special, though, is the atmosphere. It's lively yet peaceful, a mix of energy and calm that feels just right. Whether you're traveling solo, with family, or towing along your four-legged friend (yes, it's pet-friendly), Camp Margaritaville caters to all kinds of explorers. For RVers looking for more than just a stopover, this resort is a destination in its own right. We didn't get any pix -- we were too busy socializing. But see our separate review of the nearby Old Mill Restaurant.

There is even a trolly stop to get into town from the front entrance. The weekend we were there, it was packed. Even so, the site was easy enough to back into. Tons of campers had their TVs out to watch the game and grilling, but there was little noise and noting disturbed us inside our rig. Kids enjoyed the pool and having fun while many families rented the facilities golf carts to get around the camp. The Bad: The campground is way more packed and has smaller sites than what the photos indicate. You will find it to be congested, especially on the weekends. Also, some sites to not have a dumping capability, you will need to dump at a common site when leaving. All and all, we will certainly be coming back.

We found the campground to be nearly empty. Lazy River Pool was heated and the hot tub was nice to have to ourselves. Showers and bathrooms clean (again, only a handful of campers here). The campground is nice in some ways and aggravating in others…read more The sites seem to be wide. Plenty of room between you and your neighbors. Full hookup is great with no problems. Plenty of water pressure. On to the negative- I've not seen any one of authority come through and enforce rules. No security. We're dog owners and our pups stay on a leash and remain quiet. If you don't mind dogs barking everywhere then this is your place. The gravel sites need to be cleaned up. I think I have found our fire ring over in the weeds. A lot of trash all over our site. The pool area was nice, but this is too big of a campground for one pool area. Very crowded and plenty of adults at the pool using vulgar language around our kiddos. There could also be more benches in the play area for us parents who actually supervise our children. In conclusion, we like our spot. It is very trashy. Buts of garbage everywhere. The fire-pit ring is thrown off in the weeds. A lot could be done to make this place nicer. Straighten up the gravel sites. Spray down the weeds growing though the gravel. Fill in the mud holes from people's driving though the grass. This will be our one and only trip to this campground. Updated** Another example- Our last day, there were some adults at the pool. The conversation told us, these people aren't even staying here. They live up the interstate and come just to swim all day. If we had some kind of staff to check on things, this place would be much nicer and better for the paying campers. A positive is there are a lot of children and it's nice to hear them outdoors and playing.
