Very quiet, clean, and well-maintained with lots of entertainment areas and community spaces available. It's so close to the national park and other off-site adventures, but you could easily have a stay-cation here and never leave! Wi-fi is included and worked great. One tip - if you plan to cook over the fire, get plenty of firewood because their fire pits are quite deep and the cooking grate height cannot be adjusted. Our kids are already asking when we can go back!

If coming in from the West through Townsend, Wears Vally road is narrow and twisty. Some decent grades also. Coming from Pigeon Forge the road is wider and no steep grades. Either way a scenic run. We are 40' and tall with a Mega Cab so similar to driving a trailer truck and we made it fine but not everyone is up to the twists and turns. At the campsite which was up a decent grade there is an evergreen tree that needs pruned back to back in without scratches tot he rig. Also the site and several others seem to be slanted where it would have been easier to back into from the other direction. Also please not that some sites are back in and others are pull ins. Site was close to level left to right but I used two blocks on the passenger side. Could have gotten away with just one. Front to back the site was quite unlevel so made for a very low nose that I did bump my head on several times setting up. Once set up I went to walk the dogs on the loop. Quite a bit of grade so great exercise. Only issue is there are no trash cans except all the way at the entrance and the dogs never had to go down there. Water pressure seems good and electric only blinked off once during the storm the first night. The sewer worked good also. Over all not a bad campground but needs some maintenance on the trees and the drive and add trash cans for pet waste. It did seem not many folks cleaned up after their pets.

To be clear,…read morethis is the park located at 2479 Riverbend Loop, Unit 1, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863, just off of Henderson Chapel Road. This is the location with the central fishing pond that has the small island in the middle, the decorative 'old-timey' outhouse, and the little cabin where you sign in and they sell merchandise. I was here with my family around Winter 2019-2020. I was on my evening walk and saw a campground worker driving a golf cart up the steep hill. There was a family and their kids watching him drive recklessly. As he went around the bend and came back down, he hit a slope and the whole golf cart flipped over. The cart was headed straight for me; I could have stepped aside and let it crash, but I decided to be a nice person and save the cart from hitting people below. I stopped the cart and parked it. As I walked towards the worker to check if he was ok and see if I could help, his pants fell down, and the nearby family started pointing and laughing at him. The worker was a white male, about 6ft tall, heavyset with a scruffy beard. Later that night, while I was out taking pictures of the fireworks, he and a friend--a tall, skinny white male with long black hair about 6ft 2in--drove their golf carts past me at alarming speeds, flipped me off, and called me the N-word. I was only a freshman in high school at the time and was in a daze at what I had seen. I haven't had a lot of incidents like this so you can imagine my reaction. I called the office to report this, and the woman I spoke to was dismissive and tried to claim they don't have an island in their pond or that I have the wrong park. She even tried to claim I described a 'young man' when I never did--I specifically described a 6ft, heavyset man with a beard at the time that I was tell her this which is funny because he was a young man and thus proving my point that she knows exactly who he is. I know exactly where I was because of the specific layout of the island and the office cabin at this address. If these men are still employed here, they should be terminated. No guest, especially a teenager, should be subjected to racial slurs and harassment by staff.

I ended up spending a good portion of the night in the ER. Next day in the afternoon the owner called me to kick me out because I had let my dog run outside cuz she bit me. I tried to explain to this woman that all this had happened because I was suicidal and had called for help. She was uninterested in compassion. I am an 80% disabled veteran primarily for PTSD and depression. This lady is heartless and kept threatening to have me removed today. She in her words graciously was allowing me to stay until morning or she'd call the police. This place is pitiable and empty. But yeah let's contribute to veteran homelessness

Country Cascades Waterpark Resort is an extremely family-friendly hotel in Pigeon Forge. From the moment we checked in until we left, we were surrounded by friendly people who made sure my family was comfortable and had lots of fun. This hotel has themed suites for families! We stayed in one of their treehouse suites, which has two sets of themed twin bunk beds, as well as a king-sized bed in the main sleeping area. The twin bunk bed area had night lights and a TV in the treehouse nook. My kids were delighted to find a treasure hunt inside our room: a safe full of goodies that they could only unlock once they found all of the clues around the room. We probably could have spent the whole day just having fun inside Country Cascades, even without the waterpark. Inside the resort, there is a bowling alley, arcade, rock climbing wall, gemstone mining, and a gift shop where you can build your own stuffed animal. Kids' activities happen throughout the day, so there's always something to participate in. Plus, the hotel has its own ice cream parlor, pizza restaurant, candy and popcorn shop, coffee shop and breakfast restaurant. Not to mention the waterpark, when you visit during the summer months. Country Cascades is an all-in-one place to stay and play. Country Cascades has its own breakfast restaurant in-house called Granny Cluckets. There's no menu -- instead, the restaurant serves a "family-style" all-you-care-to-eat breakfast skillet, and the table shares all of the food. You're served a big skillet of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links, country potatoes, waffles, and biscuits and gravy. Orange juice, water and coffee are also part of the breakfast. One serving is a lot of food for a family of four, but if you're very hungry, you can ask for more and they will give you more. We ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant each morning, and we all agreed that it was a good breakfast. The room was very clean, and although they don't do a full room service, they do take out the trash and replace your towels each day without you having to ask. The one thing that was irksome is that the gym in the hotel is just a treadmill, a stationary bike, and a weight machine. It's very small, and also, they don't allow access to the gym until 7 a.m. That's late for a person like me who needs to rise and grind before her family wakes up! Oh well. I made do, but it would have been nice to at least have an elliptical and 24-hour access.

Lots of sites where decorated with lights and decorations for Halloween and Fall. There were activities for the kids and lots of play areas. We personally did not utilize these as our kids are grown, but hopefully grand kids are around the corner! The bathrooms were well above average for a busy campground. They were clean and well maintained with toilet, sink, and shower areas. Garbage pickup was taken care of each morning by friendly staff. With a busy Saturday hiking to Leconte and back we did not get to roam about and take it all in like we would like, so we will definitely consider coming back here again.

It was last minute, and as we were coming down hit a massive storm, so we were going to be late checking in. Not only was the lady on the phone extremely kind and helpful, she offered me directions and allowed us to check-in late. The tent site was HUGE. It was beautiful, and we just got the basic tent site. You can also get one on a deck by the stream or by the trout pond--I super recommend the trout pond. Next time, we're going that way. The people who work there are so kind, and the area is awesome--lots of things to do if you have kids, and if you;re just hanging about, the mountains are a hop away. Showers and bathrooms are massively nice and were always clean. I couldn't rant about this place enough--definitely worth every penny.
