Walked in and saw a kitschy inauthentic yet fun retro totem pole. Started to take photo but a scowling employee shouted at me " you want to read the sign on the door?" He could've just said sir no photos please or something to that effect. There were about eight signs on the door. I mentioned to him that I didn't have time to read a novel and he could just ask politely. He spent the remainder of our time in the store scowling and never offered a word of greeting or asked if he could be of help. I have a pretty thorough knowledge of Native American art as well as tribal, Eastern and Western art in general. The shop was filled with low-quality items from Indonesia, (masks, etc.)Chinese fake Native American beadwork. Suspiciously Fake looking jewelry that said Navajo made but if it was it wasn't made by craftspeople or artisans (necklaces). The rings didn't carry the telltale design elements that one familiar with SW art recognizes but looked like Silver and turquoise rings from India. There were drums that looked nice but upon close inspection had holes and major flaws. There were the cheap pottery wheel pots that are technically " Native made" but are just crappy pots made on machine wheels and repeatedly painted with crappy designs by unskilled workers. It looked like he did have some decent pots mixed in. They are supposed to be a "trading post" so when you see that coupled with the fact that they are near a major Reservation one would expect to find Shoshone and Bannock beadwork and other handiwork but instead 2 dollar rosettes from China were sold. There were Kachinas but none were Hopi Kachinas. Crystals were on offer though far more expensive than those across the street. All in all a complete waste for anyone wanting to visit a trading post (usually means high quality Native art on offer) crappy products (if not fake) and horrible employees (or was he the owner). Walked in and immediately greeted by a man screaming at me to take my empty cup out to my car. When I asked if he had a trashcan again he screamed at me NO!!!! My family remained in the store while I put my trash back in my car and I walked back in and realized that the entire store smelled like halitosis! It stunk so bad in there. All of the items in the store are probably 5 to 10 years old and overpriced and marked up 500 to 1000% I had to wipe off all the dust to see the price tag! One of my family members needed to use the ladies room and the woman that was behind the counter said they do not have bathroom facilities and then said you wouldn't offer bathroom facilities either if you had to clean out the septic every day! Who says stuff like this? These people need to close a shop! Don't bother going here... I DO NOT RECOMMEND!! Service was terrible. Selection was minimal and old and dirty. And the value... Worst experience I've had is long while with a retail establishment. First if 95% of the merchandise is cheap imported stuff. The proprietor is just plain rude. No bathrooms because they're in a drought. In the desert. There is no authentic Native American art that I could find. We found something we were going to buy until he fed me the line about being in a drought. Do not waste your time. The ice caves across the highway are very cool. read more

From the very beginning the owners just looked unwelcoming. My husband set down the drinks on the counter and the older lady said to him well u can look around." Um excuse me we don't have to look at anything with that attitude. The man I felt like was following me to the drinks and was even standing by the door as I left. Trust me no one wants these fake gifts in a tourist trap area. I was planning on buying some kind of crystal necklace but did not if they're going to be treating people this way. We agree with everyone's review. We walked in and weren't greeted even though WE said hello ! Older woman seemed like she couldn't care less if we bought anything. We actually really liked a crystal, but due to her unfriendliness we left without purchasing ANYTHING.... read more

Last Saturday, my family and I visited this store with the intention of purchasing a few items. My sister had a $100 bill to pay for a small purchase. However, the female clerk, who seemed to be the owner, refused to break the bill. When we asked if they had a restroom for my elderly mother, the owner was rude and said that they did not have a restroom. Her behavior made us feel very uncomfortable as she followed us around the store. My sister even overheard her making rude comments about us. We ultimately decided to leave the store because of the extremely unprofessional treatment we received. Individuals who behave in this manner should be required to take customer service classes or be obligated to close their businesses. We take away the star she gets minus 5 stars. read more

The customer service was rude, old man at the counter watched me the entire time and seemed creepy. Asked about items and had no idea where they were sourced from except for Bali for cheap goods then marked them up hundreds of dollars. This business should be closed down and owners should leave. read more

Every year while traveling we stop here. Every time the customer service gets worse. The woman behind the counter looks so angry to even be working. She is completely annoyed that's anyone is even in her store. I make it a point each year to stop and it doesn't feel right anymore supporting small business for how incredibly rude and smug the owner is. read more

An amazing variety of gifts and mountain man/native supplies! Shop worker was kind and knowledgable about pricing at the ice caves across the hwy! Skins, beads, peace pipes, turquoise, pelts and so many more cool things! A must stop in southern Idaho! They even have cold drinks. read more
