"A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of…read moreoverwhelming obstacles." -Christopher Reeve Serving others for nearly 30 years! Living Independence Network Company A.K.A. LINC is a local service agency that cares for people with disabilities, all levels, focusing on ability within their disability and helping them to be as independent as possible. My mother-in-law gets services through this agency and I help her with many of them. Linc is very helpful for families by learning available resources and support. This is the first review of the Caldwell, Idaho office. This is my 436th review. There are many different services that Linc provides and in three cities: Boise, Calwell, and Twin Falls. Some of the services they provide are: Advocacy: Call them if you're experiencing a problem in relation to how you live with your disability. Whether it's a landlord, employer, local business, and the such, Linc will help you by speaking on behalf of you, writing a letter for you, or acting for you. This is a very important part of social work and for people living with disabilities. Independence Living Services: The will help locate housing for you, train you to live independently: budgeting, renting an apartment, working with Health and Welfare and much more! Personal Care Services: They will help you hire, train, and pay employees to help you through the Medicaid program. Help can be cooking, cleaning, hygiene and other quality of life tasks. Transportation: They hell you apply for assistance with transportation such as medical taxi (Medicaid/Medicare pays), and discounted transportation such as taxi and bus passes. Medical equipment loans: That's right... if you need a wheelchair, power chair, crutches, CPAP machine, you can call Linc and they will help you with that. You can borrow these items for as long as you need. They also take donations of these items and many more if you ever hear about them or have some to discard. Lastly, The ramp and rail loan program. According to their website This program provides: Temporary loans of modular, portable, aluminum accessibility ramps for residences averaging 30-90 days. Only requires a fully-refundable deposit of $250 or $450, depending on size and configuration Ensures people with accessibility or mobility issues to maintain their independence and freedom. Even if you're having a family member come to visit that requires a ramp, you can borrow a rail free of charge, just put down the security deposit. Linc has been in the Treasure Valley for nearly 30 years. They have a vast amount of resources available and a database of other resources for yourself and your family. It's important to know what services are available out in the community. You never know who is going to need this knowledge. This review is going into a new "Community Resource" Yelp list which may help our community grow and overall help individuals help themselves move up Maslow's hierarchy toward self-actualization. As for my review-- I am going to post this same review on all three cities because it brings awareness and again, may help someone. The staff has always been friendly. I've dealt with the community nurse several times, they come to the participants home, and are always filled with both compassion and empathy. My brother in law is unable to walk long distances and his mobility scooter took a dump. He was unable to get a new mobility scooter due to lack of funding-- Linc provided him with a "loaner" which he can use for as long as he needs, and he once again has the independence and quality of life that we all deserve, thanks to Linc. I was on vacation and realized I had forgot my meds. I got online to find the closest pharmacy to…read moreSun Valley and Chateau Drug came up. I had my heart doctor put in a prescription refill request and by the time I drove to the pharmacy the meds were already filled and ready. Fast and friendly service.

I would like to please urge anyone in the Ketchum area to use any pharmacy other than Chateau Drug…read more While i say this due to an experience with one specific pharmacist, it was on more than one instance . Management clearly has received numerous complaints regarding this pharmacist because I heard the same story from the competing pharmacies ... but more importantly from people within the drug store itself. We had just arrived in Sun valley for a long awaited getaway. On the flight out we began to feel a bit under the weather. By the time we woke up the next day we were both significantly under the weather. We had a function that evening and to be on the safe side we took a COVID test..... sadly we were both positive. I was recommended to other pharmacies but they didn't have the drug we were looking for. We tried Chateau Drug and they said they had one last prescription. I kindly told her that the other pharmacy would transfer the prescription and she said no and she would get around to it when she got around to it. We went to the Drug store and asked if she was able to make the call and she said we weren't her only customer and she would do it when she got around to it and then she would call me when it was ready.... All in a rude fashion. I then asked if she could give me an approximate time frame because I was feeling really badly and driving was tough for me and her response was " Why do you come to our town spreading COVID" loudly so others could hear. She said she would call us as soon as it was ready. We knew she wouldn't call.We waited and waited and after three hours I called back and she told me the meds were ready. We went back up there and got one prescription as the other was 1500 dollars. She aggressively dropped the prescription on the counter, took my credit card info and we left. Do pharmacists not have ethics training or empathy? This is the first time in 40 years where I saw a pharmacist who should not be dealing with people. Sun Valley is a beautiful place with lovely people and I know she is an aberration but she should not be in a position where she has any interaction with people.TWO BIG THUMBS DOWN
