Today, I went in to Menard's with my trailer to pick up 15 pieces of 8' long treated lumber. I…read morepaid for it inside and then drove around to the guard shack to pick it up behind the store. Everyone I talked to inside was very friendly and helped me out in several instances, but the security guy in the guard shack doesn't seem to follow that policy. When I pulled up, he opened the door a crack and reached out holding out his hand. I guess that means to "give me paperwork", in sign-language. I did that and he did his thing with the paperwork and then stuck it out for me to take it. I did take it and the only words out of his mouth were, "In the back wall". Well, I knew where the lumber was anyway, so drove off myself without even a grunt, (I give back exactly what I get). On the way back out with my load of lumber, the same thing happened; held out his hand, did his thing, handed me the little box for my signature, gave the little box back to him, and he went in and opened the gate for me to leave. Never was a "Hi, how are you? can I help you? what are you after? etc.", nothing at all. I'm certainly not happy with these actions, but in all honesty, I can't reduce the rating from my original 5-star. Just that I am not happy, since I am a very good customer here and deserve better than that. If it should happen again, the rating will need to drop off. I hope it doesn't.

Finally three days ago they came and removed all of the old flooring and have yet to return. I called and spoke to a female store manager who is not helpful at all. She keeps giving me the run around and the old customer service trick of telling me a circle of lie after lie. Promised they would call back and yet no call. Such a disappointment. He even verified stock in the back as the inventory system was being finicky. Overall a great experience, we bought from a trusted brand that had great reviews and believe we got the best bang for our buck. However, we did have one minor grievance. It would seem that most appliances are no longer kept in stock at the store and Lowe's now sources most of their appliances through their central distribution hub. I'm not the biggest fan of this, while I did get my appliance delivered the next day I would have rather bought it in the store and taken it home same day, as I had the means to do so. 10/10 would buy there again.
