Nice Clothes, but Poor Service…read more I stopped in to find special-occasion dresses. They were out of our sizes, so I asked if there was a way to be alerted when new stock arrives. The manager's response: "No. People just know to come in at the start of the season." I asked when that would be, and she said, "August and February." We need dresses sooner, so I apologized but asked if she knew where else I might find them. She gave a tight smile and said, "No, there really isn't anywhere else around here that sells high-end. You'd need to look online." I left, walked east on Broadway for 30 seconds...and ran right into Sparkle and Junebug, which has beautiful, well-made children's clothes. I found several dresses with the help of a friendly and efficient sales associate. It's impossible that the Babes on Fourth manager didn't know about this neighbouring boutique. Maybe she just didn't want to send me to a competitor, but she lost a potential customer and a significant sale as a result. (As Julia Roberts would say, "Big mistake. Big. Huge!")

They will constantly try to help you, as management trains and requires staff to take a classic personalized service experience. Some people prefer this, others find it pesky, but it's going to happen. They do know the product very well and are very helpful with suggestions if you need something for a gift, but know nothing about the child in question.
