I was only the second person in the shop, and i was waiting at the counter for around 10 mins before being helped. I got a latte and a scramble, and they were a little overpriced in my opinion, but i did want to try a speciality latte so I suppose that's to be expected. I got their beetroot latte and to be honest that was the best thing about this experience!! It was so earthy, creamy, and warming, i loved it. No notes on my latte!! Now the food was not hitting for me. I got the breakfast scramble with sourdough toast and asked for no mayo. I received mayo. And the toast might have been the THINNEST sourdough ive ever seen??? Look at it! Idk. I love bread so i was expecting ... more than an eighth of an inch of it? Anyway, the scramble was meh and i just used napkins to wipe off the mayo. Just a bummer, i am probably going to other coffee shops over this one in the future.

We did have quite a wait to get in, but the front staff was wonderful about keeping everyone updated on the estimated wait time. We waited outside with several other groups, but honestly, it didn't seem that long because we were all visiting, laughing and having a good time. Once we were seated, we had a big table near the front of the restaurant, and our waiter was fantastic. I unfortunately didn't catch his name, but he was ON IT the entire night! We started with appetizers, and the Heavenly Hummus I ordered was absolutely fabulous. Seriously, one of the best hummus dishes I've ever had. We also ordered the Diablo Sticks, which were breadsticks with jalapeños and cheese served with a spicy marinara sauce. They were AMAZING. We also had Nate's buffalo wings at the table, because apparently two orders of Diablo Sticks and hummus weren't enough. Then came the beer! Everyone ordered something different. I had a sour, and three other people got different blueberry sour beers. Every single one was excellent. Sean had an IPA and loved his too. Then came the pizzas, and this was probably my favorite part. Everyone ordered something different, so we had a whole table full of unique pizzas and spent the night trading slices and trying everyone's choices. I ordered the Grape & Gorgeous, which had grapes, bacon, Gorgonzola cheese and herbs with my favorite balsamic glaze drizzle on top!! I honestly had no idea what to expect. It was completely different from anything I've ever had on a pizza, but WOW...I loved it! I would order it again in a heartbeat. Sean got the Gyro Trip, Drew got the Cuban Pizza Crisis , and there were several more pizzas at the table whose names I can't remember. Every single one was unique and delicious in its own way. At one point, an ambulance even showed up for someone at another table. Thankfully, the person ended up being okay and didn't have to leave in the ambulance, but it definitely added a little unexpected excitement to our evening. Overall, we had such a great time. The atmosphere was fun, busy and full of energy, the food was excellent, the drinks were great, and the service was fantastic. Most importantly, we were able to sit around a big table, visit, laugh and enjoy a really fun night together. We will absolutely be back the next time we're visiting Haley and Drew in the area. Slackwater definitely lived up to the recommendation, and I can see why it's one of Drew's family's favorite places!

My boyfriend and I love Beans and Brews in Syracuse and they're the ones who got us hooked. When we came into this one today we were impressed by the decor and then were quickly letdown by them not offering all that we came in to get. They were very accommodating when it came to ordering the odd drink I like and they made it perfectly! However, they do not offer breakfast sandwiches which is one of our favorite Beans and Brews menu items. 80% of the time what brings us to Beans and Brews is the breakfast sandwich options and the drinks are a nice side. Sad to say we probably won't be coming back to this location. read more

Atmosphere was nice. Didn't really seem like the baristas knew what they were doing. I ordered a vanilla latte with nonfat milk and I got sugar free syrup in it and the milk was not steamed properly. I also ordered a small Americano with half the water and that seemed difficult for the cashier to understand so I had to tell the barista myself. The Americano was gross. It's such a cute little drive-through setup with windows on both sides, and they moved through the line really quickly. The whole experience felt friendly and welcoming, and I really enjoyed the ambience. Now that we know the routine and how everything works we will be back!! The coffee was SO good. Great flavor, and the service was fantastic. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and my drink was definitely one I could have gone back for another one of. I seriously considered it, but it was about a 10-15 minute drive away, so I resisted.
