My husband and two daughters had haircuts here today. The stylists were pretty on-time, they were super friendly and did a good job. Crystal A. gave hubby the best cut he's had in a decade (first time for him here). Only negatives were - I have issues with the impulse shopping toys at the front of the shop, and there really isn't enough seating for people waiting. But over all, really great. read more

Unfortunately, this review isn't about a haircut, just customer service. We made an appointment and showed up exactly 10 minutes late. When we arrived, they said that they couldn't take us because they were fully booked...there was one other kid in there. I think 99.9% of services have a grace period. Not to mention, if you're in the business of dealing with fussy children, there should be some extra time allotted. My son had an appointment today. We were earlier for his appointment they made us wait 40 minutes that's when I got mad and left the shop. It was really disappointing to see that after you book an appointment you still have to wait that long. The staff is good but they need to manage their schedule properly. Poor management. read more

Beaners in Northland plaza is excellent! Took my 18 month old there for his second hair cut. He got really upset when the clippers came out but Maria tried to divert his attention with silly faces and was so fast but still very accurate and gave him a very handsome cut. read more

I went to the Northland location to get my 4 yrs old a haircut, I had my 2 years old with me she wanted to go on the other vehicle so badly (the vehicle was on the other hairdresser section) and I tried to stop her cause of corona and not spread germs but my 2 years old insisted she wants to go on the car everytime I take her off she runs back to the car. Both hairdressers there kept asking me to move her in a rude way, they kinda got upset about it and they said "oh we have to clean after every customer" multiple times and they would come and say "okay listen you have to move her!!!!!" or "this is not my section you have to get her off now we have different sections here for each hairdresser". I felt so stressed out and anxious didn't even relax after a long drive I tried to tell my daughter to get off and explain to her why she shouldn't sit on this amazing car toy she sees for the first time but SHE IS TWO I really didn't want to make my sweetheart cry so I had to lift my 35lbs toddler for the next 10-15 min. Just so she doesn't run back to the car and so they don't have to wipe the wheel and chair (which takes a Second!!!!!!!!) and instead on focusing to cut my sons hair nicely he ended up with a horrible hair cut. And the hairdresser blamed it on his wavy hair! It looks like I gave him the hair cut at home :( read more

I took my Autistic daughter that is not severe on the spectrum at all and for one they treated her like she was being over sensitive when she kept saying ouch and tried to deny that they hurt her when I posted pics on social media of the razer marks in the back of her neck. I called there and the owner/operator of the location was rude and condescending. No apology nothing. We drive all the way to the SE location once a month because they have always been great there. We lived over there for 6yrs never an issue. Would not recommend this location. read more

If I could give them a lower star than 1, I would. I have been here several times over the last three years, if you are even 2 minutes late, it is the end of the world, and if you are early or on time - you wait 10-15 minutes for your appointment; I had an appointment earlier this week, and yes I was 8 minutes late, and I was expecting I would have to wait, even though the stylist had just finished up with her appointment (late) and the client was just paying; and after standing for 5 minutes waiting to get addressed, I was asked to come back tomorrow because they couldn't fit my son in, after driving 20 minutes with a sleeping toddler to get there. Completely dissatisfied with their customer service and will never be returning. read more

Beaners Hair Cut place specific for kids, really? What a joke! The fact that you have few rides does not mean that you can throw a kid on them, suffocate her with a gown and not even do what parents ask you to do, and ,of course, charge for it. I took her here thinking that they would have been more patient and would have been more prepared being a kids specific place. Luckily my daughter is so pretty anyway. read more

We have been going to Beaners for years, but NEVER again. DO NOT BOOK WITH CLAUDIA. There was a lot of snow the day of our appointment, we left with extra time but we live out of town and by the time we parked and got to the counter and had our hair stylist (Claudia) get to the counter herself, we were 5 minutes late (literally, no more than 5 minutes). She had already given away our appointment and said that we could not get her hair cut today. I explained we were literally only 5 minutes late (even during this conversation, I had looked at my watch and it was exactly 5 minutes late). There was no phone call to see where we were, she just gave it away. I didn't think I had to phone while driving considering the roads and because I knew we would only be a few minutes late once we got closer to the location. On top of this, she then began to lie and give EXTREME attitude - she said "I can not cut hair in 5 minutes". I have never had an appointment last only 5 minutes when I have been at Beaners, we usually always add bling or something fun at the end. My daughter is also 8, she can sit still. I explained that I never expected her to cut my daughter's hair in 5 minutes, but that I was unimpressed that she gave away our appointment being that we were only 5 minutes late. I checked the appointment time online and saw that we had a 30 minute timeline booked for our appointment, which would have been enough time still to do it if she hadn't given away our appointment. It was obviously her mistake, but she was extremely rude and condescending, and if front of my disappointed child who was looking forward to getting it cut. I will never go here again, I have never had someone give away a reserved appointment in less than 5 minutes. Especially with having young kids, life happens and a few minutes late should not have been met with such a terrible attitude and reaction. I have read other negative google saying the same thing. I have been early to these appointments every other time, I just can't believe the attitude I received in addition to a complete waste of our time and lack of common courtesy. Someone with this demeanor should not be working in the service industry, especially with children. read more

We have been going to this location for 8 years and this is our last day. I made an appointment, it was not entered into the computer, drove all the way there to be told we do not have an appointment. After I was told this, the girls walked away without an apology or explanation. I am very dissapointed and will not be going to this location again. Customer service has gone downhill since we first started going there and I am shocked as this is a franchise and I will be telling everyone I know to stay away, very unfortunate. read more

We have been here several times and have always had a good experience. Sometimes the cut is a little better than other times but always leave satisfied. My son likes the different chairs with a yellow dog, vehicles, etc available. Everyone we met is good with kids and professional. Make an appointment as they are busy and can only take walk ins at certain times like weekdays when school is in session. read more

My first and last time I will ever come to this place - it was a nightmare as soon as we step foot in the salon. We had an appointment and had to wait 15 minutes from the "stylist" to get herself sorted - she had no other client at this time, so I don't know what the delay was all about. Once we were called up, I noticed that the floor was covered with hair. At least clean up after your clients. Then once my son was in the "toy truck" (and I say toy truck loosely as it was broken and should have been thrown out a year or two ago), the stylist starts to go to town on my son's hair. She was a nightmare. I'm sure it was harder for her, with her long stiletto nails. How one can cut a child's hair with such long nails and then look dismayed when you pinch his ears with them is beyond me. It's a good thing that my son is cute, as his hair is a mess. I'm going to have to go to another place to fade in his sides and make his hair on top even. She didn't even use a comb when she clipped the top. ARG! I had high hopes for this place. We've been going to Beaners for 9 years!!! The owner is friendly and runs the salon smoothly! It is always clean. A couple of the stylists have been their for years. Both my girls have always had great hair cuts and love going( even now that one is 11!) because they've always had a good experience. read more

By far the worst experience I have ever had anywhere. I felt like a fool and extremely insulted during my first (and definitely last) visit over here at this particular location. I had a 50% off coupon (specific for northland location only), that I wanted to use and also wanted to see what kind of service they provide as they claim to be specific for kids. I called the location before scheduling an appointment and also mentioned about my coupon to make sure that they accept it. The girl on the phone said they would accept, hence I made an appointment and went to get my child's haircut. Before getting the haircut I have again indicated that I have a coupon that I would like to use for which they said I can. So, got the haircut and went to pay at the register where the girl took all my details for 'file' as I am going to be using the coupon. Then she noticed that it was only valid for weekdays, and not on weekends (I went on a Saturday) and denied to accept the coupon. It was extremely frustrating that inspite of mentioning the coupon several times they did not check it out and when it was time to pay they clearly denied to accept the coupon. None of the girls who work there have no idea about such coupon and expect that the customer knows about their rules. It was my fault as I did not read the fine print on the coupon about validity on mon-Thursday, but the people who work there should be well aware that they cannot accept such coupon on Saturday when I first scheduled an appointment over the phone. On top of that there was one lady who was extremely rude in the way she talked to me and I was standing there making myself a fool for choosing to drive 15kms to this wretched location. I paid the full price for the haircut that I could have got for half the price at not-so-fancy locations. It was extremely insulting to stand there and argue with them and I was close to tears. Would never ever go there. If I had to pay full price why would I drive so far when there are couple other beaners branches close to where I live. Most pathetic customer service ever...!!!! read more
