They first quoted me a price, then tried adding admin fees after the fact (which is not allowed per OMVIC rules). I got them to remove the fees, and I was happy to let that slide. However, they have now lied to me about the mileage. My signed bill of sale says the car has 16,000kms, yet they just informed me AFTER making the deal, that the car actually has 19,000kms. That's a 3000km difference! And that's simply unacceptable. I'm writing this so others are aware of their shady practices. Be cautious if you deal with them. And know your rights as a buyer by reading up at OMVIC.

Have used them many times with mediocre service, but will never return after latest fiasco. Scam: Dropped my car off for an oil change. Asked that they look at the AC and see why it's intermittently shutting off. The staff member said "Sure" and didn't mention any price, so I assumed they'd call me once they looked at it and diagnosed. Even my written estimate read "A/C Price $- , Inspect and Report". Got a call to pick up my car and am shocked to learn they charged me $271 to put some dye in the AC system to help find a leak (it's not even fixed!). Disrespectful Staff: When I was shocked by the $271 extra charge I said "Jeez!" and was met with a very defensive staff member, "I would have warned you about that when you dropped it off. I'm normally very good at warning customers. It can be anywhere from $200-$500 for an AC repair." What!? I'm sorry, but you didn't warn me, because I'm not signing you a blank cheque for up to $500. Called the manager, he gave me the same shtick, "He would've warned you about the AC charge, he's normally really good at that". I have two staff members now essentially gaslightling me that I approved a $271 AC charge. I'm frugal, for $271 I'm driving with the windows down. "I'm sorry, I was not warned of any charge for the AC, I read 'inspect and report' on the estimate and assumed that that is what you would do". "I'll talk to the staff serving you, but I'm almost positive he would have warned you." Unresponsive manager: The manager, Marc Houle, said he'd check with his staff and call back. That was 1 month ago. I've sent two follow up emails, and called 8 times this week and I've received no response. I think he believes if he ignores me long enough I'll give up. I'm filing complaints with the BBB and Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery today.

I had my second appointment at GJT yesterday and must say I am very impressed. I bought a 2019 RAV4…read morelast year in Ottawa (ON) and then moved to the Ottawa Valley in February. I purchased the Extra Car Plan with the vehicle as it gives the first 40K a lot of free stuff (more on that later). Making the appointment was easy both times I visited and they were able to call my file up on the computer and I didn't have to spend a lot of time explaining myself. I was greeted well each time I went by friendly and efficient staff. These were regular maintenance checks and oil changes all of which were rendered for no charge under the ECP. If you're buying a new Toyota do yourself a favour and get this package. Anyway part of the service yesterday was a tire rotation and the technician noticed that one of the tires was low. On inspection he found a nail in the tire so they repaired that all at the grand sum of? NO CHARGE! Due to the ECP! The staff were so helpful and kind and there was complimentary coffee while you wait and nice comfy leather lazy boy chairs to relax in. Free WIFI so you can browse while you wait. All in all a very positive experience.
