This is a brand new hobby lobby in Millington Tennessee. It's only been open a few weeks, and the…read morestore is roughly half full. Lots of empty shelves, but they are in the process of getting them filled.

She was friendly and apologetic that there were a couple of last minute callouts, leading to the line being long. She shocked me by taking half of the line with her to a register and started checking them out herself. That's definitely a good manager right there, because she listened, let me express, and tried to help in every way she could. I'm not one to complain, but it's a big deal having to shop in the hot environment and then wait in a line, leading me to be irritable. I do wish the temperature was more welcoming, because I'd like to shop each aisle, but I just don't have the patience to shop in a hot place. I made my complaint with her about that as well. She and the other 2 workers I saw all looked like they were sweaty from the temps in there. They have a really good clearance sales right now, which keeps making me go back. I'd probably buy it all if they had better air conditioning in there. I'll try to go back after the sun sets one day to see if it's cooler inside. Between having a good caring manager and good clearance prices, I'm not willing to give up hope yet! 5 stars & A+++ for Christian. 5 stars for clearance prices. 2 stars for the temperature, and I'll give 5 stars for the checkout since she made up for it by handling it herself and she can't help that people didn't go to work. Trying to do my Christmas shopping early on a budget with these clearance sales.

Denise told me that I "don't have to shop there". I told Denise there was no reason to be rude and asked for her manager. Denise handed me a business card and said 'Jim' was the owner and I could call him. I walked to the other end of the store to continue shopping. About 15 minutes later, a man later identified as Jim approaches me. "I HEAR YOU HAVE A PROBLEM" exclaims Jim loudly. I looked around.. "I'm sorry.. who are you?" I asked. I am Jim the owner, and I heard you have a problem. I explained to Jim that I merely questioned as to why face masks were not being enforced if it was required in Shelby County. Jim explained that Millington is not required to follow Shelby County laws. He stated the health department has been out several times already. I told Jim that I didn't appreciate his lack of customer service skills and he should not be yelling at me in a full store with tons of people around. I left the store.. Jim and Denise followed me out. I will not return here. Definitely not a reflection of the sweet people in Tennessee that I always hear about. :(
