I had the pleasure of meeting Tammy at Urban Princess today, and what a wonderful experience!…read more I stopped in looking for a gift for someone I work with who is moving back to the West Coast. Tammy was so helpful without ever making me feel pressured. She showed me crystals, some beautiful light oils, and necklaces that could be worn multiple ways--as necklaces, bracelets, or anklets. At one point she simply said, "Get what you feel. Get what you think." And that was exactly what I needed to hear. This person happens to be my birthday twin, so I initially thought I was going to go with garnet. But then I found the most beautiful silver lotus earrings! One pair was $15, or two for $25, and since I was shopping on a budget, the lotus earrings were perfect. And honestly, how could I pass up a lotus? Tammy made the experience feel personal, relaxed, and enjoyable. I left with exactly what felt right--and already knowing I can't wait to come back and see her again. Thank you, Tammy, for your kindness, your ideas, and your beautiful energy.

This place is not closed…read more Kiki must have a personality disorder. I have shopped there several times and she acts as if she does not want you there. You are not allowed to touch clothes and if you do not like the things she has pulled for you, she seems upset. She also will dump her personal drama on you. While some of the clothing is unique, there are no tags on anything including prices. Sort of shady, and to be honest, I wonder if some of the stuff is used. She also is rarely there when the hours of the store say she will be. I once found the assistant asleep in the corner on the floor. Kiki was totally unaware she was there. If you are feeling like you have thick skin and want to fight the person you are buying from, it's worth going in there a few times. If you want to feel good about spending hundreds/thousands, you'll go elsewhere.

This store is beautiful. Not only are there many seemingly one of a kind pieces in the store (as…read moreshe only stocks a few of each thing), but Kiki also designed the store itself - including an incredibly beautiful use of a real tree. It's worth going in for that itself. You can tell she puts a lot of thought into every piece that goes in the store, whether its wallpaper for the walls, a curtain for the dressing rooms, or a piece of clothing or jewelry that she is selling. She also really takes the time to help you find the things that work for you, your body, and your style. Though I do feel it necessary to note that this is definitely not a cheap store, it is definitely a beautiful boutique that you should absolutely get to know and love.

I bought my wedding dress from this Nicole Miller last month after 4 months of searching all over…read morePhiladelphia. I started at Nicole Miller and ended at Nicole Miller. Jessica helped me without hestiation and with a big smile. She was very personable and laid back. She never pressured us about availability of the dress like all bridal stores do. She looked up inventory status for me and was honest about it. She sent me emails with pictures of dresses I tried on and answered my emails promptly. She dealt with my mom who was a little TOO excited about the event and therefore can come off as abrupt. I picked out a few favorites but could not commit because I was shopping else where. I would pop in every other week almost to look and try on and bring different friends in to look. Everytime we go in, I would call in advance. When we get there, the dressing room will be stocked with the dresses I tried on before. They are very thoughtful. I fell in love with other dresses at other stores but they were very expensive. Finally I made one last trek and decided on a strapless beaded and lace sheath dress that has so much details that it is UNDER priced if compared to regular bridal wear brands. They gave me 10% discount. The dress arrived in 2 weeks and they let me keep it at the store for me. I have since popped in a couple of times to try it on and show my friends. My wedding is not till 4 months from now so they are going to keep it there for the duration of the time AND entertain me when the seamtress conducts fittings. Syndi is another associate that is wonderful. They are always very friendly and try hard to find something for you. Their dresses are trendy, well made and tasteful. They are pricey but their sales are incredible. For wedding dresses, their prices are great. I will go back again for rehearsal dinner dress and also my mom's dress for the wedding. Thanks Jessica & Syndi!

My Fiancee and I both came here to try on dresses over the last year…read more My experience ( about 6 months ago, when I first started looking for a dress) was a little uncomfortable and awkward. I am a curvy woman and many of the smaller sample sizes do not fit me well, and the A-line was not flattering 8 times out of 10. The woman assigned to me during my appointment was unhelpful, and made me feel worse about the dresses not fitting well, and feeling unflattering. She did not offer advice, but basically told me that everyone looks good in an A-line and I was just being silly. The next bridal place I went (Danielle's Bridel) to had tools, (inserts for the back and clips) to help too-small or too-big trial dresses fit better, and where much more helpful about finding a dress that fit my body type, instead of ignoring/disregarding my disinterest in dresses made to compliment a different shape. However, my Fiancee wanted to come by and try on a few dresses, as she is a smaller size, and has a shape that is better complimented by the style. On our second visit about 2 weeks ago the manager at the time helped us. She was a friendly, helpful, left us alone when needed, and offered ideas and suggestions that corresponded with my Fiancee's reaction to different dresses. She offered us drinks (which this first women had not when I went in), gave us a bridal gift bag at the end, and offered to get us a sample of the dress my Fiancee liked in her size brought to the store the next day. She was fun, and helpful and made the experience a lot better for my fiancee. Overall, the dresses are lovely, the store is well designed for potential brides, but they only have 1 size of each dress on the rack to try on (which can be very frustrating). Most frustratingly, the quality of service seems to depend A LOT on who helps you. Wedding dress shopping is already stressful due to expectations, assumptions that every bride is 'supposed' to be a size 2, and the high price tag, even mediocre customer service doesn't help.

So every since moving to Philadelphia, I have been wanting to stop into this store after peering at…read morethe beautifully decorated ornate items. I decided to finally go in and I am so happy I did. I think the best part was the service offered by its owners and manager, Koray and Abbe. From upon entering I was greeted with a very enthusiastic and animated hello, how are you, and can I get your opinion on this pin I'm creating by the owner. I am quite the art lover, as well as a fan of small businesses and handmade items so I happily obliged. It put such a smile on my face to be greeted so warmly. The best part was not jus the service but getting to take a look at the items of handmade jewelry they had available on display and in the glass cases. I specially was looking for a bracelet that had the blue evil eye on it (mine had fallen off me recently so I was in need of a new one). Koray was kind enough to offer me his which was beyond generous, but of course I knew I had to pay it forward and purchase one myself. I actually ended up getting three. I need all the spiritual protection I can get lol as we all do I think, but the evil eye is a Turkish item that is meant to protect you from and ward off negative energy. Now whether or not that is true is up for debate but it's awfully pretty when incorporated into a nice design and also I just like the meaning behind it. They had some available in different colors and others in the traditional blue dot and a red band. I went with this sterling silver chain that had the single evil eye in the middle and little rhinestones around it and then another with a silver chain and multiple blue evil eyes on it. You can tell I'm a fan of them right? Truly though visiting that store made my day. I wanted to get a photo with Abbe and Koray but my storage on my phone was full so I couldn't. I will definitely be back. It's not often you meet kind individuals with a zest and passion and fervor for life like they do. They demonstrated kindness to me (not just to make a sale) but because of who they were as people. I wish their shop many blessings and if you haven't checked it out , they also sell handmade ceramics like bowls and plates. Also some of the things are imported from Turkey. Koray and Abbe make most of the jewelry items themselves but the bracelets I purchased apparently were handmade in Turkey. I may never venture to Turkey in my lifetime but it's nice to know the items I purchased were crafted and curated by an artisan from another culture other than mine. I'm big on cultural diversity and respecting people's cultural differences so supporting this store feels like a win win for me in that respect :)

We happened along this store after dinner one night. I had seen ads for the store in some of the Philly promotional mags at the hotel and I thought it looked intriguing. First of all, as I was browsing through the store's fabulous array of scarves and eclectic jewelry, I picked up and was admiring an "evil eye" key chain from a box full at the register. Before I could believe it, the hot Turkish shop keeper said, "This is my gift to you." Well, I was charmed (no pun intended). Secondly, I had to buy one of the beautiful scarves. As he carefully wrapped it up in tissue paper, he placed it in a beautiful small handbag. Are you kidding me? What a lovely bonus. Thirdly, it's open most nights until 8 PM. That's such a bonus when you're traveling and you need extra time for shopping! Located in the quaint Midtown area with lots of other cool shops, bars, and restaurants. I don't know if and when I will ever return, but if I do, I will seek this out.
