Awful. Just awful. This school focuses on looks and money more than personality. It encourages snobbery and school photos are photoshopped ( freckles blurred out , skin tones altered, eyes enhanced etc) The mini bus driver is innapropriate(pervy, makes comments about young girls ) and drives like a mad man! (don't put yourself or your children at risk!) The school dinners are literally not edible - they made me ill. Complaints are not taken seriously. The children's welfare is not a priority- not even considered in many cases. The Geography teacher(Mr Nash) and PE teacher (who made wrong comments about enjoying seeing me in my swimsuit) have serious mental health problems which affect their ability to teach. (SEVERE Anger managment issues - very scary , not approchable and the shouting will cause headaches) They both call pupils names and are totally unprofessional. The school is divided up into seperate buildings, many of which have awful damp problems and stink! The children here have mostly been brought up by morons with money. Your child will be made fun of if you do not own at least 4 horses , 5 cars, 3 houses and a five star hotel. If they don't wear everything designer , they will be looked down apon. My children have been at Beaconhurst from nursery into the senior school. They have both enjoyed a fantastic education in an environment which has allowed them to enjoy the innocence of childhood for that bit longer. Relationships between pupils are not always perfect they are still real kids. However, we've found the staff very supportive and helpful, and when my son was experiencing some minor (even if it didn't feel minor!) bullying, the guidance staff were great, with a range of measures to get things back on an even keel. The school has some real strengths. Relationships between home and school are strong we have regular contact from the children's tutor, and good links with teachers. Teachers are genuinely interested in the kids, and make a real effort to get to know them. Out of school activities are good too wish I'd had the Junior school trips and Senior Outdoor Ed when I was at school. Whenever you meet Beaconhurst kids, they are friendly, polite and confident. My children attended Beaconhurst for 4 years in which my son was bullied. The school use the no blame system which has been shown not to work. I recently removed my son from the school after he was assaulted twice by the same boy and the school basically said that my son was a liar and that it didn't happen. The deputy head actually smirked through the appointment I had with him and informed me that the other child came from a reputable family which obviously mine is not. Unfortunately the school blamed my son, then me and then denied that the bullying had taken place. I would never recommend this school as they had recently had problems with kids selling bb guns and a pupil taking a knife on a school trip and destroying an other pupils belongings. These kids are still at the school and only were given a few days suspension. The school is only interested in keeping the money coming in. read more

This school makes an effort in every area to make sure that the children recieve the very best experience from their schooling. The list of clubs and activities is impressive and the teachers are genuinely interested in the pupils and the subjects they teach and the clubs they run. DofE and outdoor education play a large part in what makes this school great. For a small school, the exam results and sporting prowess is amazing I wish I had attended a school like this when I was growing up! read more

I moved my child to this school after a difficult and more than I can describe 'bumpy start' at her feeder high school. Whilst initially being nervous about our decision we cannot fault the school in their support and the changes in our child are plainly evident. The support from staff and her tutor have been fantastic. read more
