This college is one of Glasgow's most creative colleges, with departments specialising in design, photography, radio and journalism. Lecturers here have a wealth of industry experience, bringing their subjects to life for their students and allowing them to get the most out of their learning experience. There are a wide range of courses available, including evening and weekend classes such as cookery and upholstery among many others. There really is something for everyone here and it's a great place to begin your career or as a springboard to university.

The great thing about this college apart from the fact that it does a load of different courses is that it is smack bam in the middle of the city centre, so on your break from classes you could do anything from buy a box of cookies, to go to the cinema, to get your trousers dry-cleaned, it is entirely up to you. I went here for a night school course while I was at uni, I really did like it, the instruction was good and I feel I actually did leave with some new knowledge for my extra qualification. If you are interested in a college, this beats any on ease of use, with Queen st station only around 100 yards away and the express bus stop on the doorstep, this is a much more amicable step to adult life.

NEVER ATTEND HERE IF POSSIBLE…read more I attended a course at the Waterfront campus and It was alright at first however I had an incident at a placement(it was changed from my original after i forgot to disclose i had a cousin there) and i was asked not to come back the head of centre lied and told a couple of lies(the head of centre twisted the truth) to the college and one of my lecturers immeadiately took the placements side and said lecturer was acting bad towards me when i handed in an assignment late because I have a really bad memory that I needed to see a doctor about because it was worrying and thge lecturer acted like i had commited a crime even when i explained the reason and said I should transfer to a different course or drop out because "they couldn't have that of behaviour"(who says that to someone) and i had applied for a bursary and didn't hear anything until i had to call up many months later and they said "my evidence was grainy" and i had to re send it and no one had told me previous to fix the evidence as i had no emails texts or calls telling me to and when i fixed it i was supposed to get a backpayment however they didn't give it to me for no reason and I only recieved 1 payment as when i was deciding on what to do they stopped my payments(i only got a single payment) as the lecturer above said i didn't attend there anymore and that impacted my family as we had to scale down on some shopping to afford it. Never attend here they aren't supportive and will automaticly side with the bad party and side against you and treat you like a criminal and not take anything into consideration as well as the facilities being out of dates more specifically the lift that are probably older than the campus and the prices for the food on campus are some of the most expensive I have seen for food anywhere. They claim to say they listen and they don't they should fire the entire childcare lecturers here

It stands on top of The Mound and so has an imposing look, visible from Princes Street and beyond. Like Edinburgh itself, which has old and new towns, the university has Old College and New College. Also like the city, both old and new are quite old indeed. The building dates from 1846 and houses the School of Divinity at the University. However, there are also rooms that can be rented out for events, and that's what brought me here. Our ball happened in Rainy Hall, a stunning hall, with crests and coats of arms all around. Walking in through the main gate of the college brings one to the very Hogwarts-like quadrangle, which makes for some great photo ops. Once inside the building, all of the interior architecture also captures one's attention. However, I am far from an expert on this, so that's quite enough comments about architecture! Rainy Hall is an intimate venue for events. It comfortably accommodated our ~60 attendees, but much more than this and ceilidh dancing would become somewhat difficult. Catering and bar service are provided by the University's own Edinburgh First, with friendly, efficient staff, and a good selection of drinks at the bar. The food quality is very good, though portion sizes leave a lot to be desired. My recommendation to visit New College is twofold. As a tourist, the astoundingly beautiful building makes for excellent photographs. On top of this, for reasonably small events of up to 70 people, the Rainy Hall is an excellent venue to consider.

It's only right that I review the place where I've spent 3/4 of my life over the past three years!…read moreThe university's campus is seriously indescribable. It's beautiful with an abundance of wildlife on campus. (Hello rabbits! Lots of them.) The loch is huge and great for talking a walk around. The campus even has its own castle within which the university's law department is based. - Airthrey Castle is worth taking a wander to see and is alongside Airthrey golf course if you're partial to a putt! In my two years living on campus, I was so impressed. The university is acclaimed for its sports department and the gym and swimming pool are just a short walk from the residences and main buildings. These are both very well-maintained and offer great value. There is also the Macrobert Arts Centre which is essentially a cinema and theatre with a bar and restaurant. I've seen so many films in Macrobert centre, seen some great productions and my band even played a gig there. Whilst all these things are great, the thing that I take away most from Stirling, and that I hear from so many other students, is the excellence of the support system for students. The Career Development Centre offers advice from the moment you leave until you retire and the university takes great interest in the university alumni. I myself called graduates one year on to guage graduate employment rates and have participated in another campaign to reach out to parents of new students and collate feedback on the university. There is also a great councilling and money advice service on campus. In my final year of study, I know that I am in safe hands. - If I need help, it is there and I need not be ashamed to ask for it. I couldn't imagine a better place to have met my boyfriend and my band! Stirling University will always make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

However,…read morethis means I have a pretty expansive knowledge of the campus so I will try to be as even handed as possible. It's beautiful. It has a castle, a loch, a golf course, trees, trees, trees. The residence buildings are very sixties architecture which doesn't so much do the beautiful setting justice. However, the University is currently rebuilding and renovating the residence buildings and they're all shiny, new and modern. There's a cinema on campus and a theatre in the form of the MacRobert Centre. I've seen movies in the place, had a coffee fuelled history seminar in the cafe and been to an insane electro rave here. They even put panto on at Christmas. Anyway, I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for this place!
