I'm never written a negative review but based on the customer service and poor workmanship that led to a catastrophic failure that could've put myself, crew, and vessel in harms way had it occurred but 30 minutes earlier, I feel compelled to do so. I had 1000 hour service performed which included engine and transmission oil and filter change performed prior to leaving Maryland to bring the boat to Florida for the winter. On the third day after coming out of the ocean where the seas were 4-6 feet and entering through a challenging inlet back to the ICW, the transmission began slipping. After opening the engine door, I saw oil spraying all over the engine room from under the starboard side transmission oil filter. I was able to tighten the loose transmission oil filter by hand which stopped the spraying oil. I checked the port transmission oil filter, which was also very loose, but not started leaking oil yet. I hesitate to think what the outcome would have been if this had happened an hour earlier. I've called, texted and emailed Chris Starr multiple times without a response except for one missed call in the last week after this occurred This demonstrates poor workmanship, a lack of accountability, and little regard for customer safety or satisfaction. Additionally , the starboard engine that had a small engine oil leak that they were to fix during the oil change continues to leak oil. I don't take leaving negative reviews lightly, but in this case, others deserve to be warned -- I would strongly recommend avoiding this shop.

Just recently purchased a fine small boat via Mike Potter, he is a broker with Southpaw Yacht…read moreSales. I have to say that I'm pretty critical of boat brokers, I've been boating my whole life, have a good handle on what I'm looking at, what my needs are and all of that. With that said, I have little patience with brokers that do not know what they are talking about; many don't of course. However, meeting Mike I have to say that he was great to deal with. Mike was fair, honest, motivated and responsive. If I reached out he was quick to respond. Mike was a straight shooter and didn't BS me. I'm old and have been around for a long time and can typically pick up on the BS fairly quick. Mike was easy to deal with and his office staff (Nicolette) was just as great to deal with as well. I have no complaints with these guys, they were a big help and I appreciate it. Here is one example of Mike's dedication, on a Sunday, not too long ago, Mike flew in from vacation, got in his car and drove straight from the airport to meet up with me so that I could see the boat for the first time that I eventually bought. That told me right there that he was dedicated to his work. Nice to see that still exists. Thanks again Mike and Nicolette! Kerry H

He immediately responded and we made verbal contact. Went and saw the boat and in less then 2 weeks did the Sea Trial, paperwork, picked up OUR Crown Line yesterday, and now it's home in our driveway. Tim was ABSOLUTELY the BEST Boat Broker to work with EVER! Everyone at the Marina, and I mean EVERYONE we spoke to all say "He's such a nice/good guy" and he really is. He went far above and beyond to make this workout for us in a timely manner. Then helped us modify our new trailer to get her home! Mark and I are so thankful, grateful and appreciative of all Tim did for us. We are so looking forward to Spring of 2022 for us to begin the next chapter of our lives together as Boaters. My husband has always been my Captain and I his First Mate. THANKS TIM!!
