Finding a truly reliable boat mechanic these days feels almost impossible -- but this guy is the…read morereal deal. After years of struggling to find someone competent, honest, and detail‑oriented, I finally found a rock‑star mechanic who treats my 31' Tiara Open like it's his own. He's clean, knowledgeable, and incredibly thorough. Every job he's touched has been done right -- not patched, not guessed, not halfway -- done correctly. He's worked on everything from gas lines, water pumps, timing the engines, fixing wipers, oil changes, plugs, winterizing, commissioning.....you name it, he's fixed it, and he's fixed it perfectly. What really sets him apart is his professionalism. He shows up prepared, he explains what he's doing, and he doesn't leave a mess behind. The level of competence is rare, and the peace of mind is priceless. After years of searching, I can finally say it: I will never use anyone else. If you want your boat in the hands of someone who actually knows what they're doing, this is the mechanic you want. I've been using Matt Rysz for about 4 years now. If you want things fixed, he is your guy! Oh and you can tell a lot about how good a mechanic is if you see their boat. His.... You could eat off the floors!

They've never missed a deadline, and even squeezed me in when I had a departure looming. I had a very disappointing experience with this business regarding the installation of a radar…read moresystem on my boat. The radar began having issues not long after installation, and despite two service visits, the problem was never resolved. What's most frustrating is that the issue was reported during the warranty period, but instead of fixing or replacing the faulty unit at that time, the business delayed and failed to take effective action. Now that the warranty period has passed, they've acknowledged the radar itself has failed but are refusing to cover the cost of replacement or labor--leaving me to deal with the consequences of a defective product and an incomplete installation. Their only offer is to bill me for further work on a unit that was never properly addressed in the first place. I expected better service and accountability. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this business and would caution others to be careful before trusting them with high-value marine electronics.

For example, I was going out for several days with my bro on his catamaran and I asked if he needed anything for the boat. He needed line tape. I called West Marine in Stratford and they didn't have any. I called Milford Boat Works and they had it which made me happy as I am from Milford and didn't have to go out of my way. Since it was raining, I decided to get some rain gear for my trip. Milford Boat Works had just what I needed. And, you know how the saying goes, if you have rain gear, the sun will be shinning! So true. Staff at MBW are very friendly and helpful. I also saw some other items that I needed at home. Tubing for my water fountain is sold by the foot so I was able to pick that up as well.

On the morning we were supposed to take a family vacation I realized that I had a flat tire…read more(sidewall). I had been putting off purchasing new tires for our van, but with 2 balding front tires and now a bad rear tire, we had to bite the bullet and get a new set. AAA recommended Jensen Tire and Auto in Trumbull. I live literally 2 minutes from this location and had never once thought about stopping there. I always buy tires from Town Fair. I called Jensen's and spoke to Eddie Jensen on the phone. I explained my dilemma to him about having to leave for vacation and need work done as fast as possible. Not expecting much, Eddie told me he'd call me back in a few minutes with a price after he checked his stock. Two minutes later he calls me back and says he has Firestone tires in stock and can have him at the store in 10 minutes. He also quoted me a price of $640 for the 4 tires, mounted, balanced and a 4 wheel alignment. He said I'd have my car all set by 10:30 am. It was after 8 am when I called him. Being a Town Fair guy i went to the Bridgeport location. They offered me a set of "El Dorado" tires for over $850 installed. I had never heard of El Dorado tires before. They told me they could get whatever brand tires I wanted but I would have to wait and they would be more than the El Dorado's. I told them what I could pay at Jensen's for a brand that I knew of (Firestone) and they just laughed and said "yeah but you won't get the warranty and the free rotations, etc from Jensen's) I called Eddie back up and said I was on my way! I dropped the car off and was planning on waiting, but Eddie offered me a loaner car and said go home and get ready for your trip. Who gives you a loaner car for tires???? At 10:20 he called and said my car was ready. I picked it up and Eddie explained the road hazard warranty to me along with extra copies of the paperwork. Eddie also said I would get free rotations every 6k miles. Take that Town Fair! I am so glad I made that call to Jensen's Tire and Auto! Eddie couldn't have been nicer to me in my time of need! They have a new customer in me!
