At the time I was experiencing muscle tension around the shoulder on the side of my port, TMJ from stress, insomnia and neuropathy in my hands and feet. I reached out to Maryam a few months ago when I was at my breaking point with several chronic issues. Traditional doctors just couldn't seem to help (without trying unnecessary prescriptions) and I was so tired of feeling horrible all the time. I had been dealing with sinus congestion and headaches, lifelong GI issues and even problems with my cycle. I read that acupuncture could help with all of these things so I gave it a shot. Wow. What a difference she has made. She was quick to respond and answer my questions. She really listens to you and tries to find the best practices for your situation. I truly cannot speak highly enough of Maryam and her practice. I came to her after a year of debilitating symptoms caused by chronic Lyme disease. During that year, I saw countless specialists in the Western medical field, was treated with various antibiotics both orally and intravenously, and though I felt improvement, I was still struggling with various symptoms including vertigo, neck, back, and foot pain, tinnitus, and an irregular menstrual cycle. I have struggled with neck, shoulder and thoracic spine pain for many years. The pain significantly worsened over the past year and x-rays showed osteophyte formation, osteoarthritis and reversal of the normal curve. In the past I have participated in physical therapy for the same condition and it provided minimal to moderate relief at best. I was at a point that my range of motion in my neck was so poor that it impacted my ability to perform my job, parallel park a vehicle, turn my head from side to side, etc. During the night, I would have to sit straight up in bed to change my position as I couldn't "twist" my neck and shoulders. I am a (Western) medical provider and while I was hoping that acupuncture would provide some relief, I was not confident. After my VERY FIRST treatment I experienced significant pain relief. The following day I noticed that I could rotate my head with minimal pain. Within 4-5 visits my pain level was less than it had been in years.
