I attended a Monday night Heated Vinyasa Flow class at Beacon Hill Yoga. As other reviewers have mentioned, be sure to get there early, as it really does fill up. I think there were a solid 30+ people there, but maybe that's because of New Year's resolutions. The locker area was especially tight, so people were lining up after the class to grab their stuff. Also, bring your own mat, or you will have to rent one! The class itself was pretty solid. The instructor had a calming voice and didn't talk just to talk. I enjoyed the heated element, and the room wasn't overly hot. I would consider coming back again. read more

Such a wonderful and clean studio! I took two classes with Laura. One heated vinyasa flow and one non heated, both were beautiful experiences. This is a gorgeous, welcoming studio for anyone from the newbies to the professional yogis. The studio is on the second floor overlooking beautiful Beacon Hill. It's nice to have the privacy and views that come with being upstairs. There is a check-in desk, water stations, cubbies and lockers, as well as really nice/new bathrooms/shower rooms. The showers even offer nice products like Pantene shampoo. The yoga room itself is beautiful with huge windows taking up two of the walls. There are all of the props you could want - blankets, blocks, straps, etc! The props are also very meticulously arranged to add to the zen feeling of the space. The windows have shades to mitigate direct sunlight and there is a quality bluetooth speaker system over which the teacher can play music. I took Ashley's Flow and Restore class and really enjoyed her playlist and detailed cueing. I left feeling really blissed out and definitely plan to make the trip from Brookline to take more classes! read more

Beautiful yoga studio. Great mix of classes, including Pilates. I wish I lived closer!

I will start by saying that I understand that the pandemic has hit everyone hard. Living with chronic lung disease, I needed to put all in-person activities, including yoga, on hold. In July 2021, I finally felt comfortable looking for yoga studios that were offering socially distanced and masked classes. I was thrilled to find that Beacon Hill Yoga, located just three blocks from my condo, was offering masked classes that were capped at 5 people according to their website. I decided that a five class pass for $143, albeit expensive, was worth it for safe indoor exercise. I was thrilled, and immediately booked two classes on back to back days. However when I arrived to my first class, I was the only person masked. There were already a handful of students there, and the instructor said she was waiting for a few more (7 total, I believe). Being conflict-averse, I nervously set up my mat in the corner near the open door and kept my mouth shut. Nobody masked up for the class. I requested that the ceiling fan be on for class, but when it made the recessed lighting flicker during class, the instructor turned it off. I left frustrated, and emailed the studio. The owner told me that the website was outdated and they were no longer requiring masks, but were checking people's vaccine status. (It should be noted that nobody checked my vaccination status, or the vaccination statuses of the other students in my class while I was there). The owner told me they would update the website. After much back and forth, they agreed to refund me three of my five classes. I requested a refund for the fourth class (the one I had booked for the day after my first class), but was met with resistance because I had not cancelled it within the 24 hr window. But how could I cancel in time, when I did not know that I had booked it under false pretenses until less than 24 hours before that class? I was charged $56 of the $143 I had originally paid, and only took one class that was stressful and risky for my health. Renvil reluctantly agreed to refund that class as well, but has now been 2.5 months and I have yet to receive the refund for that fourth class and the website is still not updated. I cannot speak to the quality of the instructors. The space was snug but nicely finished. I appreciated that the door was left open. I may try this studio again post-pandemic because of its convenience to my condo, but I won't be going any time soon. read more

Nice little studio in Beacon Hill. -2 weeks of yoga for 30 bucks on their trial period -good class offerings during the day. -you can practice with windows open when its warm out. the only thing i dont like: -it smells like mold in the studio. the mats, the bathroom, etc. all have a weird stench to them - just like an old smell it's hard to explain. that is why i am knocking a star off. read more

Came here via ClassPass. The space is uber small. Like there is no waiting area, you walk in the door and you're in the studio, just roll out your mat. Nice paced class. I liked the instructor. Mats are $2 to rent. read more

I can only wish the space was bigger! It's in the quiet beacon hill so you feel very zen as there's not much going on outside. Be sure to come on time or earlier as they do lock the doors. My Sunday Flow & Restore was nice, but packed! Including me there was 12 people and everyone was literally 5 inches away from you, I ended up kicked the girl in front of me's bolster which did cause me to panic for a moment, good thing she had already moved to go into a different position! There is one bathroom in the back which has a shower but no one really showers as you would be disrupting the next class or prevent the instructor from leaving if that's the last class. I like how they have a bench to put your things on and a coat rack which is the length of half the studio! I ended up being 20 minutes early so I was just waiting outside while the class was finishing, though they did run a few minutes late. Courtney was our instructor and she has the soothing yoga voice that I've come to associate to yoga as the first time I did yoga, my instructor had that soothing voice which is really relaxing. Courtney wasn't doing the moves with us, but more guiding us but she would occasionally show us on someone else's mat as there is no room for her own if she were to do it with us. Bring your own yoga mat or you can rent one for $2. First time is free if you forget. They provide all the props you need like blanket, blocks, bolster..etc. They will be installing AC soon, so thank heavens for that!!!!! But for now it's kinda hot and extra hot if you are doing hot yoga. read more

This studio is literally stealing my money. I was a member for many months and canceled my membership in October 2018. Two months later I realized they were still charging my credit card so I complained and they told me they'd give me a full refund. They gave me that refund but then continued to charge my card for A FULL YEAR. I understand I should have realized this sooner, but oh well I'm not the business owner here! I let them know a month ago that I needed them to a) stop charging me and b) give me all that money back. They told me sure, of course. And then they gave me ONE MONTH worth of money back!!!! AND proceeded to charge me for this month once again as if nothing had happened? Literally a scam. Go anywhere else. :) read more

I'm definitely a fan of Beacon Hill Yoga. All of the instructors are great and you can find varying styles at one studio. Yoshiko's classes are the best! They are definitely tough but really good. Yoshiko makes it a point to adjust students through out the class and remind you where to focus. Jaime's class on Sundays are great for some flow and a little bit of sweat. This studio has wood floors and sheer curtains in front of the mirrors. Only con is that the studio maxes out at 15 people, but it is not comfortable being in the studio packed like sardines. I'm used to practicing yoga in NYC where the studios are small and there's basically no room in between each mat, so this doesn't bother me too much, but if this would bother you then you should call ahead and attend less crowded classes. read more

This yoga studio is a hidden gem in Beacon Hill. Regardless of whether or not you are a professional yoga student or just a beginner, there is a class and an instructor for you. I started coming here after I learned it was owned by Renvil, my trainer and fitness guru from REPS on Charles Street. Renvil has put together a wonderful yoga operation in the heart of Beacon Hill and his studio manager Jessica is awesome as well. My favorite instructors are Jessica and Lindsey O'Neill. Cannot say enough good things about the two of them. They also host really interesting workshops, which are a chance to explore your practice and mingle with the yoga/fitness community. This was my first time ever taking a yoga class and I didn't feel behind or stressed out or any of the anxieties that have prevented me from trying yoga in the past. Jess and Lindsey were so helpful with correcting and modifying and the relaxation techniques are wonderful. I would highly recommend the flow and restore class for beginners. I would also recommend signing up in advance because the studio is tiny and you want to ensure you get a spot! They also offer a lunchtime yoga class for $10 which sounds like an excellent idea. Great little yoga studio in Beacon Hill! I was visiting Boston from California and was staying at an Airbnb in the neighborhood. Signed up using the MindBody app and dropped in for the early Saturday morning class. It was a great workout and experience. Affordable price for a drop in class and the instructor was very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend and I will come back during my next visit! read more

Beacon Hill Yoga is a beautiful and intimate space with just enough room for 6-8 students (my class had 5). Jessica eased us into the flow and then kicked things up a notch with solid core strengthening poses and cardio workout transitions. She also came around a bit to adjust positions here and there (but not too much). The studio has one small bathroom with a shower that also functions as the sole changing room. The one downside of such a small studio is the limited number of classes to choose from, but if all the instructors are as terrific as Jessica (and I can only imagine they are), all they need to offer is a couple of morning, mid-day, and evening classes, and this is exactly what they do. I registered for this class through ClassPass ($120/10 classes in one month), but their studio pricing is $17/drop in, $80/5 classes, or $150/10 (they do have a sale going on right now, however- $65/5 classes or $125/10). While their rates are a bit steep (e.g., Sadhana Yoga in the South End charges $15/drop in), it seems worth the added cost for the quality of teaching and the peacefulness of the space. read more
