My mom has been a resident at Beacon Hill for over 8 years now. I have never had an issue of any kind about anything. The staff and nurses are always friendly to me and my mom. She loves it there. I cannot think of anywhere else that I would have her stay because she is so happy at Beacon Hill. I sleep well at night knowing she is in excellent hands. read more

Beautiful place outside, avg inside. Front inside area very pretty. However, my mom has been in there 4 days and night shift don't help her at all go potty, she is a fall risk. She has to get herself up. I timed her button call last night,1.5. Hrs before nurse came in to help her potty, by then my mom had to go herself to not person herself. Foods ok. Seems day shift is better than nights. read more

This place is exceptionally good, over the top, good, in all respects. The food is also tops, and being able to order, all that I want is excellent also. The staff are most accommodating, and things could not be better. For 20 days, my Wellcare / Allwell, etc, Medicare Advantage, is also free, because I came directly from Wilson and Jones to here. They brought me here on a stretcher, by ambulance, and that was also all free. I had a splint on my ankle, and then an external fixator, pins, etc., and now metal plates, etc. This place is even better than the pictures, and in the 4 days that I have been here, it just gets, better and better! read more

My brother was there for 2 months. I checked on him often. Twice they did not bring his meal. I had to ask where was it? What if I was not there? He can't speak well. While there he developed toe nail fungus. They did not notice I had to tell them to take care of it. The nurses don't take time to discuss patients medications with you. One nurse told my mother "If you don't like how we do things here take him out." There are not enough nurses for that size facility. My brother was not taken to his Dr appointment. Because their bus was broken down. I know that can't be helped but they should have rented a vehicle to get him to his appointment. The administrator said he was supposed to stay another day. I told her they were supposed to take him to his appointment. I took him out that day. I would NOT recommend this facility . read more

I did rehab here after my first knee replacement. The staff were great. While I was there my husband wound up in Dallas with emergency surgery. The day after his surgery my baby brother was killed in an auto accident. I called my husband who then called my nurse. They were down with me in minutes. And gave me something to calm me down. They checked on me a lot and the therapists were top notch. The only problem I had was the food was not that great. It was almost always cold but they would heat it for me. If the food had been better I would have given them a five. read more

Do NOT let your loved ones rehab or live here. My 83 lb mother in law was recommended to Beacon Hill Rehab center for rehab by the local hospital, Texoma Medical Center, as she had been in the hospital for bronchitis and severe malnourishment due to being a chemo patient and she could not swallow or eat normally.. so she had a feeding tube put in at the hospital. The staff at Beacon Hill were not nurturing or caring at all, in fact the nurses there, except for one, possibly 2, did really nothing to help her with her bronchitis except administering antibiotics and having just had the feeding tube put in, the ordering doctor put her on too strong of a formula with a pump which caused her to have severe cramping and burning and not be able to keep nourishment in her leaving her more dehydrated and causing her to lose more weight. When she said something or simply asked questions, or just asked for help, she was considered a "complainer".. She was supposed to have speech therapy to help strengthen the muscles in her throat 5 times, she had it 2 times and more than likely Medicare will be billed for 5 times, and also had medications stolen out of her room. When she asked for assistance such as going to the bathroom because she was sick, they either never answered, especially the night staff, and allowed her to lay in her own messes for over 30 minutes at a time. They did their job as long as someone was there to oversee them and make sure they were doing their job, but when no family was there, she was ignored. There is something terribly wrong with this facility. I don't know when being aged became such a burden to caretakers in these kind of facilities, but it has and it's a shame that our older generation is being treated so badly. If you can't be a nurse in a nursing home or a rehab who truly cares and takes care of his or her patients with true compassion, then GET OUT of the profession. You aren't needed. All I can say is this facility doesn't need to be in business. Giving this facility a one star rating is too good for them. I truly think all they care about is the insurance money they get from Medicare and Medicaid. Profits with the least amount of effort and compassionate care being put forth PLEASE think twice before admitting your loved one here. read more

Do not allow your loved one to stay here unless he or she can take care of himself. Something is amiss when you push your button for help to get off of the commode and no one comes to assist you in less than an hour. Yet, there are never less than five people chit chatting at the station every time you go by. Your loved one should not be there until better management is in place who truly respects all patients and all employees and can instill that attitude as an integral part of the Beacon Hill culture. **AVOID AT ALL COST** My great uncle had slipped and fallen in his home and ended up at Beacon Hill. The care of the staff ranged from the rough, manhandling of my uncle when helping him with the shower to not responding to his requests for hours at a time. My family and I did everything we could to get my uncle out of their care and we were met with a representative that flat out told us if he walks out the front door to go see his primary care physician that they would not let him back in to even get his things. My uncle was over a pack a day smoker and Beacon Hill REFUSED to give him a nicotine patch to help him with his withdrawals. When explaining his pain to the caretakers I witnessed one of the Beacon Hill employees say to him "I see women in labor all the time that whine less than you're whining right now." At another time my uncle was trying to get in his bed from his wheelchair and he asked for help up and the nurse didn't even look up from her computer and said "pull yourself up." I had made multiple complaints to management and nothing changed. I absolutely advise that you NEVER allow a loved one to go through those doors if you have any say so in the matter. IF, God forbid, your loved one does end up going through rehab at Beacon Hill I strongly suggest you spend as much time with them as possible because the staff at least attempt to show the patient some respect when company is around. While on the phone with my mother I could hear a nurse in the background being mean, hateful and sarcastic. When I called Beacon Hill to speak with the Director Donna Snyder or Director of Nurses Melissa Pool I was given excuses. I left several messages and finally received a call from a Lisa. She could not help me because of HIPPA. I explained my mother gave consent 2 days prior. She explained that the lady who enters data has not been to work for several days and that may be why my mothers records have not been updated. She told me she would transfer me to admissions for them to help me. I was on hold 45 minutes before I hung up. This was not the first time I had been left on hold for this length of time. In addition to this my mother despite pushing the call button was left to urinate on herself. She had waited 30 minutes for assistance to go to the restroom. She then was left for an additional 30 minutes laying in urine before someone came to check on her. Her medication was not given correctly. The issues are not limited to staff or nurses. The issues are at all levels of this facility. From the Directors right down to the staff. read more
