My mother entered Woodlands Place Rehabilitation after being discharged from the hospital. The…read moregoal of entering rehabilitation was to receive recovery care, medication assistance, nursing care for evaluation and pain management and specific dietary meals. None of these things were done well at Woodlands. She was often in pain and waited more than 45 minutes before seeing a nurse or nurses aide. Upon arriving to her room 45 or more minutes later (with no updates in-between), the nurse explained that she was giving medication to other patients and arrived as soon as possible. The emergency or nurse button in each patient room only pages the nurses desk and does not allow patients to verbally explain why they're needing assistance (as one might experience in a hospital). The slow response time would be a real concern if my mother had fallen on the floor or had a true emergency. Regarding meals, my mother was prescribed a soft diet and our family requested that she receive soup for each meal. Instead and on four different occasions, she received meatloaf, a pork chop or other standard meal, which the staff claimed was "soft food" because a side of mashed potatoes or a soft vegetable came with the meal. Each time, my mother told the staff that she couldn't eat what was being served and then got served the same types of meals again and again. The nursing staff claimed that they had no control over what was being served by the kitchen. The physicians and nurses at Woodlands did not initially review my mother's patient information from the hospital or know her exact condition so our family had to explain her medical history and current / prior medications several times during the first few days of her stay which was very frustrating. The Woodlands facility seems to operate with every task on a schedule and if something needs to be done outside of that schedule then a patients care and wellbeing suffers dramatically!

The bugs were reported in 3 rooms but only one room was taken seriously. When these bed bugs are getting on staff members clothes just by going on the rooms then there is. Problem... Y'all beware and if you have to send a family member there.. stay with them...
