4.5 really, Beacon 70, Brick, NJ Great spot overall! The medium well-done wings came out mild and not quite well-done, but still tasty. The quesadilla was excellent, and the crab cake was just OK. What really stands out is the service, the view, and how clean the place is--that's worth a whole star by itself. Solid 4.5 stars.

    Grilled Cheese Trio

Ambiance during the day is mellow, but still busy. Nice naturally sunlit bright rooms and a great view of the marina / water. There are TWO bars, both with tons of TVs around them. Not a bad seat in the place. No overpowering music which is a plus. Came here for lunch and got the grilled cheese trio ($12.50). 3 full sandwiches well made. VERY filling, so the price point is great for this dish. The tomato bisque could use a touch more pepper but that's being nit-picky. Cheese and bacon: classic. Personally, had I'd been paying attention I would have replaced the bacon with tomato. Bacon is not burnt to a crisp, it is soft and chewy. Pico de gallo: tastes like a taco but it's on bread. I couldn't picture this working but somehow it really does. Pico tastes fresh. This one had the most flavor. Mushroom and onion: expected this to kinda be like a French onion but it's not. Onions are soft but not caramelized. Tasty, but wouldn't be my first choice. Maybe some ah jus rather than soup. That would hit the spot. Bread is perfectly toasted. You can taste the butter used to brown it. I love that there's different choices on the dish. Beer is nice and cold ($5 peroni on a Wednesday.) I was helped by Taylor according to the receipt and she gave perfect service. Didn't make me wait too long, checked on me the perfect amount, didn't assume I was done when my beer was empty. More than 5 star service from her! And, no credit card surcharge! Awesome place and I cannot wait to try other things on the menu.

    Happy hour oysters for $1

Went there on Monday night for happy hour. It was packed which is a sign to the place being good. They had great food specials like 69 cent wings and some drink specials including $1 blue point oysters. We got a large bar pie, some oysters, and wings and were extremely happy. We had to sit outside overlooking the water which was really nice, but service was a little slow and the waiters didn't come by as much to those tables. The kitchen was running pretty slowly, but I would definitely go back especially for the other amazing happy hour specials.

Nice place right on the water. Been there a few times for lunch. Food has always been pretty solid. It's always packed to go early. Tons of tvs so it's great if you want to catch a game.

    Lime Chicken Tacos

It would be much appreciated if the person shredding the chicken took more care that the chicken tacos didn't include bones! Also, extremely soggy item to be ordered for delivery.

    Warm Spinach & Artichoke Dip

Our server was very nice & helpful. The spinach & artichoke dip was a hit, they gave us more pita for it which was so nice. The coconut shrimp went so fast we didn't even get a picture. The cajun chicken pasta was very flavorful but not as spicy as I was anticipating. The pizza was a medium and was way bigger than we thought! (never a bad thing). The tomato soup came in this cute cauldron bowl. The deal for lobster was great, but it was a lot of work getting that bad boy cracked open. We ended up doing the deal for the drink pitchers... next time might just do sangria pitchers instead. I would come here again though.

Great Spot for lunch on weekdays. Waitress/Bartender came around plenty of times to make sure we were good. Keep up the good work.

I'd call it "Rustic". Duck ragu special phenomenal large portion, creamy sauce , nicely seasoned. You actually tasted each individual seasoning. Chop steak was good. I'd call it user error. I'd order it with a little less gravy next time. Didn't have a burger taste most have. Hard sear , steak Crust with a capital C and double scoop of mashed potatoes. Classy for a dinner with your parent's fancy for a first date. Solid classic spot to keep in the rolodex. Neighborhood spot with its collar popped for a good reason.

Kind, diligent, and a real smile, not a pained phony one that usually passes at so many other places. They make you feel at home. The food is not pretentious. It's attractive, but is served as being just what it is, no frills or hype needed. I stick to the specials usually and they are always top notch. For instance I am nearly always disappointed with prime rib, but here it is wonderful, and always done exactly as you like. A rare thing. Tonight I had grilled halibut, served with a bit of perfectly cooked broccoli and a baked potato. My God! The oysters on half shell are always fresh and delicious, and at $4 each a real bargain. So hard to stop eating them..... Meal comes with a basket of plain little rolls and a plate of cinnamon rolls as well. I'm not a cocktail connoisseur so I can't really compare too well with others, but I have to say the whisky sour I had really sent me - a wonderful taste. All this in a comfortable, dimly lit, homey place unchanged since 1973, with always smiling, mannered (! yes, really) people filling the tables. No reservations, but if you have to wait, no matter. You can sit in the welcoming and relaxing atmosphere of the bar room.

There was a nice big bar area but also tables and a shuffleboard table (which was very popular). There are also SO many tvs! We just missed happy hour but prices were still good. My hubby got a coke ($3) while I got a glass of house wine ($6.00). The staff was friendly and helpful. We'll go back again to try the happy hour deals!

Fuck ! so many bars, so little time and the amount of time you spend is directly correlated to how much you drink unless the server has her tiny brain working elsewhere. Cute only works so much and on 50 percent of the customers. Honestly, know your customers, plenty of women are locals and would like a menu in less than 20 minutes and a drink as well. My guy was ready to take her head off bc he had to wait for his drink while she chatted up at the bar while we sat at a table like idiots! BADDDDDD
